Mumbai weather update: Several areas see ‘poor’ air quality, Mazgaon dips to ‘very poor’ with AQI 317; temperature at 24.2°C

Mumbai woke up to a rather breezy Wednesday on November 23. The air quality of different areas in the city, and metropolitan region fluctuated between moderate and poor categories with Mazgaon recording AQI of 317 slipping into ‘very poor’ category.

The city’s overall AQI remained in the moderate category as it stood at 180 while the pollutant PM 2.5 and PM 10 concentrations were at 98 and 162 respectively.

The AQI of the city remained in the ‘moderate’ category at 161 yesterday.

The Air Quality Index from 0 to 100 is considered as good, 100 to 200 is moderate, from 200 to 300 it is poor, and 300 to 400 is very poor and from 400 to 500 or above it is considered as severe.

The days in the city got colder because of the northerly winds blowing said the Indian Meteorological Department. The weather agency had forecasted a cold wave for parts of Maharashtra and said later that due to new weather system formation in Tamil Nadu, the temperatures may rise again.

The IMD has predicted that the minimum temperature in the city will rise to about 20°C and the maximum to 32°C with mainly clear sky for the next 24 hours.

The current temperature of the city is 24.2°C and the humidity percentage was recorded at 48%.

Mumbai, June 23, 2025 — In a shocking and tragic incident, a 10-year-old girl was sexually assaulted with a screwdriver, and the horrific crime was recorded on video, police sources revealed. The suspects, believed to be the girl’s mother’s boyfriend and his girlfriend, have been arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The incident came to light after the child’s family reported the abuse, prompting an investigation by Mumbai police. Authorities launched a raid and apprehended the accused, who are now in custody. The police have also recovered the video evidence, which has been handed over to forensic experts for forensic analysis.

According to police officials, the girl was subjected to sexual assault at a residential property in the city. The accused reportedly drugged and assaulted her, recording the act maliciously. The child’s family expressed their shock and distress over the incident, emphasizing the need for stringent measures to protect vulnerable children from such heinous crimes.

Mumbai Police arrests 38 wanted accused

Mumbai: Mumbai Police has intensified its action against criminal elements. Between June 11 and June 20, the police claimed to have arrested 38 most wanted accused during a special operation in Zone 4 of Mumbai. These accused had several serious crimes registered against them, including 34 assault and harassment, 13 property and 9 other crimes.

This operation was conducted under the leadership of Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti. DCP Ragasudha said that the police were looking for many accused and the police had started searching for them. Under this, this operation was conducted and the police has also prepared a list of criminals who are wanted in many cases.
