Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal Enters Rs.500 Crore Club, Devours Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur At The Box Office
Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal was released on December 1, 2023, and clashed with Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur. Despite many users calling out the film for toxic masculinity, the film has entered the Rs 500 crore club and has earned Rs 563.3 crore worldwide in the first week of its release, while its nett collection in India stands at Rs 338 crore.
However, Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur is seeing slow growth at the box office. With Animal, the film only managed to earn ₹3.05 crore India net on its seventh day, making its total collection to ₹38.85 crore. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Sam Bahadur also stars Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Sheikh.
The film is based on the life of Sam Manekshaw, India’s first field marshal
Animal is currently breaking all the records at the box office. It has already become the fourth-highest grosser of the year, after Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, Pathaan, and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Triptii Dimri, and Rashmika Mandanna, among others.
The film was released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Meanwhile, since Sanju (2018), the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actor has not had a big hit in the cinemas.

A section of social media users also called Kanguva Suriya’s ‘career best’ performance.

Directed by Siva, Kanguva features scenes set 1,500 years in the past and stars Suriya facing off against Bobby. The cast also includes Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, and Ananda.
With an estimated budget of over Rs 350 crore, Kanguva has reportedly been filmed in seven countries and various parts of India.
Speaking about the film earlier, Suriya had told that he wanted to make something like Hollywood movies like Braveheart and The Lord of the Rings.
“Siva came up with this idea of what if we go back a few 100 years… What would happen if our people lived such life and had a complex situation? Let’s picture that and that’s how the whole thing came about,” the actor had said.

Mithun Chakraborty’s Wallet Gets Stolen During BJP Roadshow In Jharkhand, Organisers Request Pickpockets To Return It
Actor-turned-politician Mithun Chakraborty found himself in a sticky situation after his wallet was stolen from his pocket during his mega roadshow in Jharkhand on Tuesday. The actor campaigned for BJP in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, and that is when he got pickpocketed, leaving the organisers red-faced.
A video from the rally has now gone viral in which the organisers and other BJP karyakartas can be heard repeatedly requesting the pickpockets to return the veteran star’s wallet. “Whoever has stolen the wallet, please return it to Mithun Da,” a BJP member was seen urging the crowd.
Despite repeated pleas, the wallet was not returned.
Chakraborty led a massive roadshow in the Nirsa Assembly area of Jharkhand to extend his support to BJP candidate Aparna Sen Gupta. Thousands of people gathered at the venue to catch one glimpse of the star, and it led to major chaos and mismanagement at the spot.
Despite security forces in place, the crowd went out of control and rushed towards the stage to click photos and videos of the actor and see him from up close. It was during this chaos that Chakraborty’s wallet was stolen.
Disappointed by the fiasco, Chakraborty concluded the event sooner than expected and rushed back to safety.
