Owaisi finds fault with court order for survey of Mathura’s Shahi Idgah

 AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday criticised Mathura court order for a survey of Shahi Idgah mosque complex, saying a survey in a civil case should be the last resort.

The Hyderabad MP said that in his opinion, the court is wrong. “I disagree with that order. Legal experts know very well and they have also told me that a survey is ordered by a court only as a last resort when there are no papers to prove a title or anything,” he told media persons.

The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader said the court used the survey as a first resort while legal experts believe that it should be the last resort.

Owaisi said the civil court surprisingly violated the Places of Worship Act, 1991, which is clear that except Babri Masjid, the nature of religious places that stood on August 15, 1947 can’t be altered.

He said the court completely disregarded that on October 12, 1968, the Shahi Idgah Trust entered into an agreement with Sri Krishna Janmasthan. “The Trust had done this agreement with the expressed approval of Uttar Pradesh Sunni Waqf Board. It was signed by both the parties,” he said.

He pointed out that under the agreement the land of Idgah and the temple was clearly defined.

A district court in Mathura on December 24 allowed an official inspection of the Shahi Idgah mosque complex by the Revenue Department in a fresh plea challenging the ownership of 13.77 acres land on which the Idgah is built.

The court directed a Revenue Department official to inspect the premises and file a report along with a map by January 20, the next date of hearing.

The direction has come in a plea filed by the Hindu Sena in the name of the deity Bal Krishna against the Intezamia Committee which manages the Idgah.

The MP recalled that after the verdict of the Supreme Court in the Babri Masjid case, he had stated that this will embolden Hindutva elements and open up a can of worms. “Unfortunately I have been proven right,” he said and hoped that Idgah Trust will appeal against the wrong order and the higher court will look into it.”

Replying to a query, he alleged that the VHP, the RSS, and the BJP want to once again create an environment of hate in the country that prevailed in 1980s and 1990s.

“The BJP is ruling the country but the Prime Minister is not controlling the VHP. Either they don’t heed him or the Prime Minister is sitting silent,” he added.

Jharkhand to honour Ratan Tata’s legacy with Republic Day tableau

New Delhi, Jan 23: Jharkhand is set to pay tribute to the late iconic industrialist Ratan Tata through its tableau for the Republic Day celebrations, showcasing his enduring contribution to the state and the nation.

The highlight will be Jamshedpur, the city the business leader helped build, famously known as the first ‘steel city’ of India.

Jamshedpur, located in southeastern Jharkhand at the confluence of the Subarnarekha and Kharkai rivers, stands as a symbol of India’s industrial prowess.

Named after Jamsetji Tata, who established a steel plant there in 1911, Jamshedpur has grown to become the state’s largest urban hub and an important industrial and transportation centre.

This year’s tableau, praised for its creative design, emphasises Ratan Tata’s significant role in Jharkhand’s development as it was his visionary initiatives in the 1960s that laid the foundation for the state’s formal establishment in 2000.

The display will present a panoramic view of the industrial units of Jamshedpur, also known as Tata Nagar, and will highlight Jharkhand’s progress while celebrating its cultural richness.

Alongside industrial achievements, the tableau will showcase Jharkhand’s traditional dance forms, handicrafts, and art. Sohrai and Khobar paintings, created by tribal artists, will take centre stage.

Shalini Verma, Deputy Director of the Information & Public Relations Department of Jharkhand, told Media, “This time we have decided to honour Ratan Tata, as he started the industrialisation in Jamshedpur. Along with this, we have shown women empowerment by showcasing how they generate employment by working.”

“We have also focussed on education. Because industrialisation and education, both reflect Viksit Bharat and Viksit Jharkhand,” she added.

These murals, deeply rooted in the state’s tribal heritage, celebrate themes of harvest, fertility, and spirituality, underscoring Jharkhand’s strong connection to nature.

The middle section of the tableau will feature rural women engaged in crafting traditional handicrafts, symbolising the integration of heritage and development.

This element reflects how Jharkhand’s traditions and resources are contributing to the nation’s progress, embodying the theme of “Virasat and Vikas.”

Adding to the tableau’s vibrancy, the UNESCO-recognised Chhau Dance of Saraikela will be performed as part of the ground element. This traditional dance, rooted in mythological themes, will showcase the dynamic cultural heritage of the state.

Having previously highlighted themes like ‘tassar silk’ and the Baba Baidyanath Temple, Jharkhand’s participation in this year’s celebrations will stand out as one of 15 states and Union Territories presenting tableaus in the national Capital.

The tableau is expected to reflect Jharkhand’s unique blend of tradition and progress, making it a captivating centrepiece of the Republic Day celebrations.

It is a fitting tribute to Ratan Tata and the late industrialist-cum-philanthropist’s transformative vision that helped shape the state’s identity and future.

Congress launches campaign song for Delhi elections, targets AAP and BJP

New Delhi, Jan 23: Ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, Congress party unveiled its new campaign song, “Har Jarurat Hogi Puri, Dilli Mein Congress Hai Jaruri,” during a press conference on Thursday.

The song, which serves as party’s ‘Delhi Congress Anthem,’ seeks to promote party’s vision for the city while also targeting both the rival parties – the ruling AAP and Opposition BJP.

The 2.48 minute anthem highlights the disillusionment of Delhi residents with the current AAP government, accusing them of broken promises.

Lyrics in the anthem address pressing local issues, including the pollution in the Yamuna and the poor quality of drinking water.

“Yamuna Saaf Nahi, Pani Na Saaf Hai,” the song boldly proclaims, echoing concerns about the city’s infrastructure under AAP rule.

Besides berating the AAP, the anthem also emphasizes party’s plans for Delhi, including promises of free electricity for households (up to 300 units), and the Pyari Didi Yojana, which would provide Rs 2,500 per month to women from low-income families. The anthem also touches safety concerns, claiming that despite AAP’s promises, women in Delhi continue to feel unsafe while the government focuses on issues like alcohol sales instead.

Delhi Congress Chief Devendra Yadav spoke to Media, explaining that the anthem reflects the growing frustration of the people of Delhi.

“Delhi is troubled, and the people’s expectations from the government have not been met. The Congress is the only party that can address the real issues of Delhi,” Yadav said.

“This anthem is not just a song, but a reflection of the hopes we have for the future of Delhi.”

Congress national spokesman Pawan Khera also weighed in, emphasising the energy that the anthem embodies.

“These songs capture our promises and the enthusiasm of the Congress party. Our connection with the people is stronger than ever, and this anthem is a reflection of that enthusiasm,” Khera remarked.

The release of the anthem comes on the heels of BJP’s campaign song, titled “Jo Ram Ko Lekar Aaye Unka Raj Hoga Dilli Mein,” timed with the first anniversary of the consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

With the Delhi Assembly elections set for February 5, and the results to be counted on February 8, both Congress and BJP are gearing up for a fierce battle. Over 1.5 crore voters will cast their ballots to decide the fate of the 70-member Delhi Assembly.

Jalgaon: Passengers jumped off the train to save their lives after rumours of fire in Pushpak Express, got hit by another train

Jalgaon, January 22: There was chaos at Paranda railway station in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra when a rumour spread that the Pushpak Express was on fire. After this rumour, the passengers on the train started jumping from the train to save their lives. Meanwhile, the Karnataka Express coming from the front crushed many people.

The Pushpak Express was going from Lucknow to Mumbai. At the same time, the Karnataka Express going from Manmad to Bhusaval was passing through the other track.

This incident happened around 5 pm. After the rumour of fire in the train, the passengers on the train were panicked and started jumping from the train to save their lives. Meanwhile, the passengers pulled the chain of the train and the train stopped.

According to the information, there was chaos after the rumour of fire in the Pushpak Express spread. The passengers pulled the chain and started jumping from the train. After this, the passengers came under the grip of the Karnataka Express coming on the other track. After getting information about the incident, railway officials have reached the spot.

It is being told that Pushpak Express was coming near Paranda railway station. When the motorman of the train applied brakes, sparks started coming out of the wheels. Meanwhile, a rumour spread among the passengers that the train has caught fire and the frightened people started jumping from the coach. It is not clear yet how many passengers have died.

Jalgaon SP said that after jumping from the train, the Karnataka Express coming from the front crushed the passengers. 8 to 10 people have died in this accident and 30 to 40 people are reported to be injured.
