Mumbai: Speculations Rife That Akhilesh Yadav Likely To Demand 10-12 Assembly Seats From MVA In Maharashtra

Mumbai: The 37 Lok Sabha members of the Samajwadi Party from Uttar Pradesh were felicitated in a grand welcome party at the Rangsharda Auditorium, Bandra on Friday. Such was the zeal that almost all the MPs and those present resolved to fight the assembly elections in Maharashtra with full vigour.
The party chief, Akhilesh Yadav is going to demand 10-12 assembly seats from Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) for us in Maharashtra, announced some of the MPs while speaking. Without the support of the Samajwadi Party, a government can not be formed in Maharashtra, as the confidence among the SP leaders whose performance in UP almost pushed the BJP to the brink.
MP Pushpendra Saroj said, “Samajwadi Party has alerted the voters of Maharashtra that SP has come to Mumbai in full force. We want to send maximum MLAs to the state assembly.”
About The Grand Welcome Party
All the 37 MPs were felicitated by senior SP leader Abu Aseem Azmi and his colleagues from the state. Azmi said, “I felt bad when the north Indians were beaten up here. But no one should challenge North Indians.”
The ongoing controversy over illegal structures at Vishalgad Fort was figured in the speech of Azmi. “As many as 3,000 people had gone to destroy illegal structures at the fort and they demolished the mosque. I request the MPs to raise the issue in Parliament,” he said.
Before their arrival at the venue, all the MPs visited the Chhatrapati Shivaji statue at Shivaji Park, Mani Bhavan Gandhi Museum, Siddhivinayk Mandir in Prabhadevi, Chaitya Bhoomi at Dadar and Mahim Dargah.
“Even though we are just two representatives of the party in the state assembly, we raise problems of backward, minorities and the north Indians in the state assembly, said party MLA Rais Shaikh.
“We wish some more to join us to increase the party strength,” said the MLA from Bhiwandi East.
MP Dharmendra Yadav said, “We want to assure people that Samajwadi Party will not allow anybody to touch the Constitution of India.

Good News For Mumbaikars! New Jogeshwari Terminus Nears Completion, Operations Likely To Begin In Next 6 Months

Mumbai: The upcoming rail terminus at Jogeshwari, located between Ram Mandir and Jogeshwari stations on the eastern side, is expected to be operational within the next six months. The facility, built on land that previously housed a railway-operated cement warehouse, is projected to remarkably reduce congestion at existing terminuses in Dadar, Bandra and Mumbai Central by increasing train services.
Western Railway (WR) officials confirmed that the Rs 69 crore project, under construction for nearly two years, is progressing steadily. Contractors have been directed to expedite the work, with a target of completing 70-75% of the project by the end of March.
Several key milestones have already been achieved, including the completion of a labour shed. Work on essential components such as the cover shed, service building, platform and station building is ongoing, while track-laying has commenced.
“The construction at Jogeshwari Terminus is moving at a good pace. The island platforms are nearly complete, and we expect the majority of civil work to be finished by summer. The progress of island platforms and associated infrastructure is visible on-site,” said a senior Western Railway official.
An island platform, which allows trains to arrive on tracks on either side, is an efficient space-saving design. The terminus at Jogeshwari will feature a 600-meter-long and 12-meter-wide island platform, capable of handling 24-coach trains. Additionally, the facility will include two berthing lines and a Power Run Down (PRD) line to facilitate shunting operations. A coach watering facility will also be available.
With Mumbai’s growing commuter base, the Jogeshwari Terminus is expected to provide much-needed relief, streamlining operations and improving connectivity for long-distance travellers.

India’s Got Latent Controversy: Mumbai Police Summons Ranveer Allahbadia & Samay Raina Over ‘Vulgar’ Remarks During Show

Mumbai: The Mumbai police are conducting a preliminary inquiry into digital content creators Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina, who host India’s Got Latent. On Tuesday, the police sent a summons to both of them. A police team arrived at Allahbadia’s residence, located near Seven Bungalows, Andheri West, at Bay View Building, and will be questioning him and Raina there. The police are investigating a controversial video clip. In India’s Got Latent, Allahbadia made a comment that created outrage and was alleged to be vulgar and obscene. The comment faced criticism from various platforms, including political, social, legal, and women’s rights organisations.
Earlier today, a team of Mumbai Police reached Ranveer Allahbadia’s house in the city’s Versova area.
According to reports, the Parliamentary IT Panel is mulling over whether to summon Allahbadia following Shiv Sena UBT Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi’s statement on Monday, in which she stated that she would raise the issue before the Panel.
After the backlash, Ranveer issued an apology and called it a ‘lapse in judgment.’ He said, “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate; it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here. Many of you asked if this is how I wish to use my platform and obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I am not going to give any context or justification or reasoning behind whatever happened. I am just here to apologise.”
