Baba Siddiqui Murder Case: Main Accused Shiva Kumar, Four Others Sent To Police Custody Till November 19

Mumbai: Mumbai’s Killa Court on Monday sent Shiva Kumar, the main accused and shooter in the Baba Siddiqui murder case, along with four other accused, to police custody till November 19.

All accused were arrested by a joint team of UP Special Task Force (STF) and the Mumbai Crime Branch from Nanpara area of Uttar Pradesh’s (UP) Bahraich on Sunday.

NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead by three assailants near his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique’s, office in Mumbai’s Nirmal Nagar on October 12. The gang led by jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has claimed responsibility for the murder.

About Another Leader Who Was Also On The Radar

Meanwhile, in the backdrop of NCP leader Baba Siddique’s murder, the Mumbai Crime Branch has revealed that another Pune leader was on the radar of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which was planning to eliminate the latter and had given the responsibility of carrying out the crime through its shooters.

According to the information received from a senior officer of the Mumbai Crime Branch, the investigation of the Mumbai Crime Branch has revealed that after the murder of Baba Siddiqui, a big leader of Pune was also on the radar of the Bishnoi gang.

“The Lawrence Bishnoi gang was planning to kill the Pune leader too and the responsibility of carrying out the crime was given to the shooters involved in Plan B,” said the official.

As per the official, the matter came to light after the Mumbai Crime Branch recovered a pistol which was going to be used to carry out the crime.

The Crime Branch has not disclosed the name of the leader.

After the Bishnoi gang’s plan was exposed, the Crime Branch shared the inputs and information with Pune Police.

The police are also investigating whether the recce was done by the accused in this case or not.

Mira Bhayandar: 45-Year-Old Man Booked For Defying SDM’s Order To Pay ₹10,000 Monthly Maintenance To Elderly Mother

Mira Bhayandar: The Navghar police have registered an offence against a 45-year-old man for defying orders passed by the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Thane district for paying monthly maintenance to his elderly mother. However, the accused is yet to be arrested.

In her petition before the court of the SDM, the elderly woman had sought maintenance from her son-Chandan Rajendra Agarwal (45)- a resident of Bhayandar (east) under the provisions of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act- 2007.

In response to the petition, the SDM passed an order on 5, June, 2024 directing Chandan to pay a monthly maintenance amounting Rs.10,000 to her mother and duly submit receipts of payments before the competent authority.

However, Chandan defied the ruling by denying monthly maintenance, prompting his mother to register a complaint at the upper tehsildar’s office. Despite being issued summons to register his say on the petition and the subsequent complaint, Chandan remained absent on both the occasions. Irate over the defiance, the upper tehsildar and the executive magistrate authorised revenue officer-Tushar Khedkar to register an offence against Chandan.

Based on Khedkar’s complaint, the Navghar police in Bhayandar police registered an offence under the relevant sections of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act- 2007 against Chandan on Monday (2, December).

Enacted to provide financial security, welfare, and protection for senior citizens/parents, the key provisions of the act legally obligate children and heirs to provide a monthly allowance to their parents. The SDM or Tribunal can order maintenance and also levy interest in case of default.

Water Shoots Up To 50 Feet In Air After Pipeline Burst In Bandra; Water Cut Likely In Central & South Mumbai

Mumbai: Lakhs of litres of water was wasted after a massive pipeline burst in Mumbai’s Bandra area on Tuesday. The video of water shooting up to the sky can be seen in the video which went viral on social media. It can be seen in the video that a huge amount of water is getting wasted due to the pipeline burst. Central and South Mumbai area in the city is likely to witness water cut due to the pipeline burst in the area. The video shows the water shooting up to a height of around 50-feet in the air and people are seen enjoying the water falling on them near the pipeline burst site.

There are reports that there will be water shortage in various areas of the city due to the water pipeline burst. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has not yet reached the spot for repairing the water leakage in the pipeline. The city is already facing a water cut of 10% due to repair works being carried out at the pneumatic gate system at Pise. It is a critical water distribution point to the city. The BMC had announced that the city will witness a water cut of 10% from December 1 to 5.

The BMC also said that the repair works will also effect the water supply to Thane and Bhiwandi Municipal Corporations. The repair work is said to be critical for the water distribution system in the city for restoring the proper functioning. The repair work will require temporary reduction in water supply. However, the city which is already facing a water shortage will face more water cut due to the pipeline burst in Bandra.

The reason behind the water pipeline burst in not ascertained yet and there are no reports of the BMC repairing the water pipeline soon. Mumbaikars living in central and southern part of the city should prepare themselves for a possible water shortage as a large amount of water is getting wasted due to the pipeline burst.

Mumbai: Kulgaon-Badlapur Municipal Council Elections Heat Up; Shiv Sena, BJP, NCP In Fierce Competition

In view of the upcoming Kulgaon Badlapur municipal council elections, the competition for the post of the council president has peaked between Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) and the BJP, with NCP (Ajit Pawar) jumping into the fray as well. After the victory in the assembly elections, BJP MLA Kisan Kathore has indicated that his party has started an attempt to gain complete power in the municipal council.

Thane district’s general secretary and former corpor All parties of the Mahayuti alliance are vying for the post in Kulgaon Badlapur council ator Sambhaji Shinde has also claimed that the next council president will be from the BJP. In response, Shiv Sena city chief Vaman Mhatre claimed that the Shiv Sena will be the number one party.

Both the parties have fought all the elections separately in Kulgaon-Badlapur except in the 1995 general election. Mhatre warned that the Shiv Sena is capable of fighting the polls on its own, and if the BJP wants to go solo then it should do so to understand which party is supported by voters.

Meanwhile, NCP state secretary, Captain Ashish Damle, said that the BJP can maintain the Mahayuti balance by giving the Shiv Sena a chance in Ambernath and the NCP in Badlapur.
