Ajay Devgn-starrer ‘Maidaan’, Hyderabad FC in tie-up to nurture football talent

The makers of Ajay Devgn-starrer ‘Maidaan’ and Hyderabad Football Club have announced a partnership to work collectively with an aim of boosting grassroots football in Hyderabad and rest of the country.
‘Maidaan’ is an upcoming biographical sports film based on the golden era of Indian football (1952-1962) and starring Ajay Devgn as football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. The movie is produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, Arunava Joy Sengupta and Zee Studios.
Boney Kapoor who is the producer of this film talks about the association and says: “Our association with Hyderabad FC, is a first-of-its-kind partnership in the industry. It is a natural fit as ‘Maidaan’ brings forward the struggles and victories of Shri Syed Abdul Rahim just the way Hyderabad FC has overcome various challenges to rise from where they were in the league with sheer grit and determination.”
So basically, the partnership is meant to enable in developing and nurturing young sporting talents of the country and also bring to light the unheard stories of the heroes of Indian football.
The director of the movie also commented on the same and added his perspective saying: “India has always been known to excel in the field of sports, be it cricket, football or even hockey – where India once dominated the sport for a long time. Our community is very passionate about the sport they play, and through this film our intention is to bring forth the journey of a passionate sportsman, who grew up playing football in the maidaans of Hyderabad and went on to become a national icon and role model to millions.
While giving brief on the partnership Varun Tripuraneni, Co-Owner, Hyderabad FC said: “We are honored and delighted to be associated with the ‘Maidaan’ team. This partnership will celebrate the legacy of Syed Abdul Rahim Sahab, who has been an inspiration not only to the football players in Hyderabad, but across the footballing community in India. Our association will aid us in taking football to every corner of the country and promote the sport amongst young and aspiring football fanatics.”
The club is co-owned by Varun Tripuraneni and actor Rana Daggubati.

Animal Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga Stuck In US Parking Lot As Fans Mob His Car

Ever since Ranbir Kapoor’s film Animal hit the big screens last week, a section of viewers have opened fire at the film for its misogyny and showing women in a derogatory manner, others are heaping praise over the cast for showing their acting prowess. Not to mention, the film’s director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is also receiving his share of love and admiration from fans, not just in India, but also overseas.
A video going viral on social media shows Vanga at an event in Dallas, US, after which fans mobbed him. Also, some did not let his car move from the parking lot leaving him stuck for a while. Watch the video below.
Vanga has previously helmed films like Arjun Reddy and its Hindi remake Kabir Singh.
Animal also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Shakti Kapoor, Prem Chopra, and Triptii Dimri in pivotal roles.
The film revolves around Ranbir and his troubled relationship with his father Anil Kapoor. His obsession with his father and constant yearning for approval and validation transforms him into growing up as a fierce and violent Alpha male. He is seen threatening everybody who comes in the way of his love for his father. Rashmika plays Ranbir’s love interest while Bobby essays the antagonist in the film, who makes a stylish yet menacing appearance.
The film has received massive love from the audience and the craze for the film doesn’t appear to be ending anytime soon. It successfully entered the Rs 300 crore club in just one week of its release.
Despite a duration of 3 hours and 21 minutes, and an ‘A’ certification, the film manages to garner footfall in theatres.
Animal hit the big screens on December 1 in 5 languages- Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. It faced a big Bollywood clash with Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur.

Ranveer Singh To Play Ranbir Kapoor’s Father In Brahmastra Part 2 – Dev

The second installment of Ayan Mukerji’s dream trilogy Brahmastra seems to have finally gotten a male lead. As per latest reports, Ranveer Singh has signed the dotted line to play the role of Dev in the second part of Brahmastra, which is set to hit the silver screens in 2025.
Brahmastra released in the year 2022 and set the box office on fire. It was one of the highest-grossing films of the year, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Shiva and Alia Bhatt as Isha. The fantasy-adventure thriller ended on a cliffhanger, paving the way for the second part, which will tell the story of where it all began.
While the Brahmastra Part 1 had confirmed that Deepika Padukone will be playing the role of Amrita, the mother of Ranbir’s character Shiva, it is now reported that Ranveer has officially given his nod to play the father, Dev.
The second part of Brahmastra will show the tumultuous love story of Dev and Amrita, and how they later turn against each other and fight the ultimate battle. While Dev will be seen hell-bent to destroy the world, the audience will see Amrita fight with her life, to save mankind from ultimate destruction.
If the reports of Ranveer getting on board Brahmastra 2 are indeed true, then it will mark his seventh collaboration with wife Deepika Padukone.
Also, Ranbir is expected to be a part of Brahmastra 2 as well, which means that it will be the first time he will be sharing the screen with Ranveer.
Until a few days ago, several reports were floating around which claimed that KGF star Yash and Hrithik Roshan, among others, were in the fray to play Dev in Brahmastra 2. However, looks like the makers have finally placed their trust in Ranveer.
With Brahmastra 2 in his kitty, Ranveer is set to have a busy 2024, as he will be also seen playing the new Don in Farhan Akhtar’s anti-hero franchise.
Besides, he has also bagged his fourth film with ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, titled Baiju Bawra.

Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal Enters Rs.500 Crore Club, Devours Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur At The Box Office

Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal was released on December 1, 2023, and clashed with Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur. Despite many users calling out the film for toxic masculinity, the film has entered the Rs 500 crore club and has earned Rs 563.3 crore worldwide in the first week of its release, while its nett collection in India stands at Rs 338 crore.
However, Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur is seeing slow growth at the box office. With Animal, the film only managed to earn ₹3.05 crore India net on its seventh day, making its total collection to ₹38.85 crore. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Sam Bahadur also stars Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Sheikh.
The film is based on the life of Sam Manekshaw, India’s first field marshal
Animal is currently breaking all the records at the box office. It has already become the fourth-highest grosser of the year, after Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, Pathaan, and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Triptii Dimri, and Rashmika Mandanna, among others.
The film was released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Meanwhile, since Sanju (2018), the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actor has not had a big hit in the cinemas.
