Navi Mumbai: PMC starts tree trimming ahead of monsoon season

Navi Mumbai: As part of the pre-monsoon preparation, the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has started the work of trimming dangerous trees and tree branches. At present, the work of pruning the trees and branches of trees obstructing the traffic in the public places in Kharghar are being carried out at a fast pace.
Deputy Commissioner Kailas Gawde has informed that dangerous tree branches will be pruned in all the nodes of Panvel, Kamothe, Kharghar and Kalamboli within the municipal limits step by step.
Details on locations of tree trimming
The Park and Tree Authority department has started its work in Kharghar from Hiranandani to Utsav Chowk, Belpada Metro Station to Utsav Chowk, Utsav Chowk to Central Park Garden, Gurdwara to Owe Ground Circle, overgrown and leaning branches of trees on the road and dividers have been pruned as per requirement.
Big ladders are being used for trimming the trees obstructing the traffic as well as the branches of the trees growing along the roads before the monsoons. Apart from this, the complaints made by the citizens for cutting the branches of the trees are also being resolved and if the complaints are received over the phone, those complaints are also being resolved.
Along with this, branches of private trees are being cut for a fee. The team of the Parks and Trees Authority Department is acting promptly as per the instructions given by the Head of the Department Sandeep Pawar and submitting the daily work report.

Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar Assembly Constituency’s revenue related issues letter to District Collector: Abu Asim Azmi

Mumbai: A meeting of the Revenue Department was convened today under the chairmanship of Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule in which important issues related to Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar were presented in the committee and a letter was sent to Mumbai Suburban District Collector Saurabh Katiyar. Speaking further on this subject, Abu Asim Azmi said that the land mafia’s occupation of the government plot behind Shankara Colony and Narayan Guru School in Govindi constituency should be removed, action should be taken against illegal slums established on the government plot located at Anabhav Sathe Nagar (GM Road), illegal sale and occupation of RSDS Sankalp Vasahat should be removed, transfer of lands should be stopped. Action should be taken against illegal business being carried out on additional land plots, GM. Mangroves have been cut at the T-junction of Link Road and illegal settlements have been created, and immediate removal has been demanded. Along with this, a letter was written to the District Magistrate informing him about illegal constructions and other issues on government lands. The District Magistrate assured to take action as soon as possible.

Maharashtra: 2 New Govt Hostels To Boost Education For Underprivileged Students In Latur

Latur: Maharashtra Cooperation Minister Babasaheb Patil has said the construction of two government hostels, with a capacity of 100 students each, in Latur district will boost education for those belonging to the underprivileged sections.
Patil laid the foundation stone of the hostel buildings, to come up in Chakur taluka, on Wednesday.
The initiative aims to provide quality educational facilities to the economically weaker and marginalised students, helping them achieve academic excellence, he said.
Patil reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring justice and equal opportunities for all sections of the society.
The two-storey buildings will have residential rooms, dining hall, modern library and study areas, and Rs 15 crore have been sanctioned for each of the two facilities.

A person has been arrested in Mumbai’s Malad for murder for not giving food

Mumbai: The murder of a youth following a dispute over food at a hotel adjacent to Guru Kripa Bar in Malad area of Mumbai has created a sensation in the area. DCP Sandeep said that last night Sanjay Makwana had asked for food and was refused food. After this, he started abusing outside the hotel, after which Kalpesh opposed him and then Sanjay Makwana along with his four companions attacked Kalpesh and hit him on the head with a glass bottle and attacked him with a sharp weapon, after which he was taken to the hospital and died. Four accused have been identified in this case and the police have arrested one Sanjay Makwana. The search for the rest is on. It is being investigated whether there was personal enmity between the accused and the complainant or not, but initial investigation has revealed that a case has been registered against both of them. Mahesh Bhanu Shali, brother of deceased Kalpesh, alleged that Guru Kripa Bar remains open all night. The DCP has also given instructions to take action against the bar, but despite this the bar remains open till late night.
