Mumbai: On Tuesday, Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, backed actor and model Urfi Javed who has been slammed by BJP leader Chitra Wagh for her outfits.

Amruta while speaking to the media said that she finds nothing wrong in whatever Urfi has done as a woman and that the actor made the choice for herself.

According to a report in Indian Express, commenting on the spat between BJP women’s wing chief Chitra Wagh and Javed, she said that everybody has their own views. She further said that if there is a professional requirement to wear certain costumes or enact scenes, an actor has to do so.

She also added that however one should be mindful about public appearances and be mindful and adhere to the culture. she also said that Chitra Wagh has her own opinions and sought actions accordingly.

Chitra Wagh and Urfi Javed had a verbal duel recently after the former slammed her over the actor’s clothing style. Wagh had reportedly lodged a complaint with the state women commission chairperson Rupali Chakankar but refused to entertain the petition.

Wagh had later taken the matter to the police and also expressed disdain over their inaction and threatened stern action against her over her indecent outfits.

The saffron party has also distanced itself from themselves as the actor-model refused to budge from her stance. IE report, on condition of anonymity, said that Wagh had stretched the matter too far and that Urfi’s aggressive tweets in response has left them red-faced.

Mumbai Police Warns Against ‘One Ring’ And ‘Pig Butchering’ Scams; Issues Alert To Citizens

Mumbai: The police have issued an alert, warning the citizens against ‘one ring’ and ‘pig butchering’ frauds. As the name suggests, one ring scam is a deceptive tactic to trick targets by giving missed calls. If the person calls back, he/she is connected to a premium-rate line, incurring hefty charges per minute, said the alert.

The scammers may also copy the target’s contact list and even steal sensitive information like bank or credit card details if they are saved on the phone. “Such calls originate from places like Belarus, Latvia, Serbia, Valparaiso, Vilnius and Tanzania,” said the alert. It appealed to the citizens to never answer or call back on suspicious international numbers rather block them.

Explaining the pig butchering fraud, the alert said, “It is a sophisticated scam wherein cybercriminals build trust with targets, often over weeks or months, to manipulate them into fraudulent investments.”

Scammers usually contact the individual through social media, dating apps or messaging platforms, pretending to form a relationship or friendship. Once trust is established, they persuade the person to invest in fake cryptocurrency, stocks or other financial schemes, said the alert.

Baba Siddique Murder Case: Mumbai Police Cite 3 Motives Behind Former NCP Leader’s Killing, Reveal Lawrence Bishnoi Gang’s Plot

Published

on

Mumbai: Mumbai Police have cited three key motives behind the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique: Anger against actor Salman Khan, Siddique’s proximity with Khan, and a desire on the part of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to establish terror and supremacy in the city.

About The Case

Siddique, 66, was killed on October 12 near his son Zeeshan’s office in Bandra (East). So far, the police have arrested 26 suspects in connection with the murder. Last month the police submitted a charge sheet against the 26 accused. Two motorcycle-borne men fired five rounds outside Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in the early hours of April 14, 2024. As per the charge sheet, Anmol Bishnoi, brother of Lawrence, was the key conspirator, who was in constant touch with the shooters.

Soon after the attack on Khan, the gang began to look for its second target. Sujit Singh alias Babbu, in his confession statement, has claimed that wanted accused Shubham Lonkar and Anmol Bishnoi contacted him in June 2024, asking him to arrange men who could recce the home of Siddique. Babbu claimed that he initially ignored their demands but later took them seriously. Babbu introduced Anmol Bishnoi to Dombivali resident Nitin Sapre, who was entrusted with the task of doing recce and making further arrangements.

Claim Made By Nitin Sapre In His Confession Statement

Sapre, in his confession statement, claimed that he was looking for work, and that Babbu introduced him to Anmol Bishnoi. Sapre claimed that when he contacted Anmol Bishnoi, the latter asked him if he had any police cases. Sapre replied that he was in prison for murder. After hearing this, Anmol Bishnoi said: “Prepare a team of boys as we have lot of work in Mumbai.”

The police has said that Anmol Bishnoi recruited several young people with whom he kept in regular touch through various social media accounts. The gang was trying to gain supremacy in the city, the police has claimed, even during the investigation into the firing outside Khan’s residence.
