Mumbaikars want only Mahayuti flag to fly over Mumbai: Maha Minister

Published

on

Mumbai, June 20: Maharashtra BJP chief and state Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule slammed Shiv Sena(UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, saying that Mumbaikars want only the BJP-Mahayuti flag to fly over Mumbai and in the upcoming BMC elections, they will seal it with their verdict.

In sharp response to Thackeray’s outburst against the BJP and the Mahayuti at a rally on Thursday on the occasion of the party’s anniversary, Bawankule said that his speech was nothing but the “frustration of someone spewing helplessness out of fear of defeat”.

“When public support wanes, the shouting increases. That’s exactly what he did. While claiming “Shiv Sena hasn’t ended”, you’ve not only lost the ‘Sena’ yourself, but by abandoning the two pillars of ‘Shiv’ and ‘Hindutva’, Uddhavji, you’ve bowed at Sonia’s feet. It’s easy to make personal allegations against respected Modiji, Amitbhai, and Devendraji, but when these leaders were touring across the country and state, Uddhavji was delivering online speeches from Matoshree. The people of Maharashtra have seen this,” said Bawankule.

“Those who say ‘Mumbai is ours’ should first explain what they’ve done for the Marathi people in Mumbai. Even when in power at the municipal corporation, did they do anything for the slums, water schemes, education, or healthcare?” the minister asked, referring to Thackeray-led Shiv Sena’s inaction during its over two-decade rule in the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation.

“Mumbaikars know that the Coastal Road, Metro, Cluster Redevelopment, and Slum Rehabilitation schemes happened because of Devendraji’s initiatives. Keep shouting that Mumbai is yours, but if development, safety, and dignity are desired, Mumbaikars want only the BJP-Mahayuti flag to fly over Mumbai,” he claimed.

He took a dig at Thackeray, saying, “Uddhavji, keep spewing venom like this, keep mocking and taunting. Your future life will be spent in this. Public service and welfare require passion in the heart, which you lack. The people of Maharashtra have already realised this. Now, in the upcoming elections, the public will seal it with their verdict.”

Thackeray in his speech on Thursday targeted the BJP and alleged that it was trying to prevent the Marathi Manoos from coming together in Mumbai. He accused the BJP of imposing Hindi in schools for Classes 1 to 5. He also took a swipe at the prime minister, saying the “country needs a prime minister, and Modi was just the BJP’s PM”.

New Delhi, June 20: Three thieves were arrested and six stolen mobile phones were recovered along with a dummy pistol and a scooter used in multiple crimes by the Tilak Marg Police in Delhi, an official said on Friday.

The accused have been identified as Arbaz (22) of Sarai Kale Khan, Pankaj Mourya (22) of Jungpura, and Rahul Bagh (26) of Chirag Delhi.

“Six stolen mobile phones, one dummy pistol and a scooter used in the crime were recovered from the accused,” said Delhi Police in a statement.

The official said that the arrested accused had been selling stolen mobile phones on e-commerce platforms using fake Aadhaar cards and forged invoices.

The breakthrough in the case came after a complaint was filed by a Blinkit delivery boy, who reported the theft of his mobile phone, stating that it was stolen while he was delivering an order on Pandara Road.

The accused had tricked him by pretending to make an online payment before fleeing with his mobile phone. An E-FIR (No. 80056549/2025) was registered under Section 303(2) BNS at PS Tilak Marg on June 13, 2025.

A special team led by SI Kamlesh Kumar, along with HC Sanjeet Kumar, Ct. Jhabbar Mal and Ct. Ram Tyagi worked under the supervision of SHO Gurmail Singh and ACP Nageen Kaushik to crack the case.

CCTV footage from the area showed the culprits fleeing on a scooter. Order details from Blinkit and further analysis of internet logs helped police trace one suspect to Sarai Kale Khan. However, he vacated the premises a month ago.

Using technical surveillance and informants, police eventually tracked the trio to a rented house in Chhatarpur.

So far, three E-FIRs from Tilak Marg, Kalkaji, and Vasant Kunj South, and one lost report from Sunlight Colony, have been worked out with these arrests.

The official said that further investigation is underway to uncover the full extent of the racket and recover additional stolen items.

Questioning ‘Op Sindoor’ an insult to terror victims: Ram Kadam slams Uddhav Thackeray

Published

on

Mumbai, June 20: Maharashtra BJP MLA Ram Kadam on Friday launched a scathing attack on Shiv Sena(UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, calling his remarks about Operation Sindoor and US President Donald Trump, “an insult to the martyrs and armed forces”.

Kadam was reacting to Thackeray’s comments made during Shiv Sena’s 59th Foundation Day celebration.

Uddhav Thackeray had questioned the government’s handling of the terror operation, sarcastically referring to a supposed intervention by Donald Trump and alleging that the terrorists “disappeared into the ground or joined the BJP”. He further mocked the BJP by saying, “Only Dawood is left to be inducted into the party,” accusing them of seeking membership from even jailed criminals.

Speaking to media, Ram Kadam hit back, saying, “Questioning Operation Sindoor is a direct insult to those who have lost their loved ones to terrorism. It’s also an insult to our brave soldiers who risk their lives at the borders every single day to protect this nation.”

Kadam didn’t hold back from making personal jibes at Thackeray, saying, “Uddhav Thackeray is no longer the man he used to be. He’s now a confused Gandhi clone, burdened by political compulsions. His statements suggest he’s not in the right frame of mind — perhaps he needs medical attention.”

Kadam said, “No one takes him seriously anymore — not even his own family. His real brother doesn’t acknowledge him, and his sister-in-law ignores him. With such limited support, such indecent and irresponsible remarks are beneath the stature of any leader.”

He also revisited Thackeray’s long-standing rift with his cousin, Raj Thackeray, stating, “Uddhav called ‘Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’ a finished party, but he’s the one who forced Raj out when Balasaheb was still alive. Now, when he sees his own influence fading, he remembers his brother. It’s desperation, not reconciliation.”

Kadam condemned Uddhav’s continued criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Thackeray had recently remarked, “India needs a Prime Minister — right now we only have a PM of the BJP.”

Responding to this, Kadam said, “These are words of a frustrated man. Even his blood relatives have abandoned him. He’s bitter because he knows he can’t match PM Modi’s achievements. Roads are being built, infrastructure is growing, and India is advancing on every front. His criticism stems from jealousy.”

Kadam concluded by questioning Uddhav’s ideological consistency, stating, “Is this what Balasaheb Thackeray stood for? If Balasaheb were alive today, he would have applauded the leadership of Modi and Shah. But Uddhav, unfortunately, is now seated comfortably in the lap of the Gandhi family, abandoning the very values his father cherished.”

Honeymoon murder case: Meghalaya Police question over 20 people in Indore

Published

Indore, June 19: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Meghalaya Police, which arrived here on Tuesday in connection with the ongoing investigation pertaining to the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, has questioned around 20 people, including Sonam and Raj Kushwaha’s family members, to date.

Apart from the family members, Meghalaya Police also visited Sonam’s brother Govind Raghuvanshi’s plywood factory and questioned employees working there, who were known to Sonam and Raj Kushwaha, key accused in the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi.

During cross-examination of arrested accused — Sonam, her alleged boyfriend Raj Kushwaha and his three friends — the Meghalaya Police learnt that they had discussed the entire plan to execute crime at a restaurant located in Super Corridor area in Indore.

The owner of the restaurant, where Sonam and Raj Kushwaha along with others reportedly planned the murder, is also said to be ‘under suspicion’.

Speaking to media on Thursday, he said that he came to know about the sensational murder case from news reports.

“A number of customers visit my restaurant every day, so I can’t remember them. Yes, there is one corner area here (at restaurant) where people sit for hours. But we just take orders from them and serve,” restaurant owner Jai Soni said.

Asked if Meghalaya or Indore police visited his restaurant for investigation, he said: “Not yet.”

He added: “We will cooperate if they (police) would visit here. This incident has brought shame for entire Indore city. We will provide them CCTV footage.”

Meghalaya Police on Wednesday visited the Indore residence of Sonam Raghuvanshi — the prime accused in the case pertaining to the murder of her husband Raja Raghuvanshi and questioned her family members in connection with the probe into the case.

The Meghalaya Police team had also visited Raja Raghuvanshi’s home and met his family members, including mother on Tuesday night.

During half-an-hour’s meeting, Meghalaya police asked about Sonam’s behaviour during her three-day stay in Raja’s home.

Notably, Raja and Sonam had got married on May 11 in Indore, and she lived in Raja’s home till May 13. She had returned to her parental home on June 14, and then, the couple had left for their honeymoon trip Meghalaya on May 21.
