Mumbai Weather: Parts of Maharashtra to witness rainfall; city’s AQI drops to ‘moderate’

Light rain was reported in many parts of Mumbai on Friday morning, coupled with overcast skies.

Light to moderate spells of rains coupled with thunderstorms and gusty winds are very likely to occur in different parts of Maharashtra during the next 3-4 hours, said Meteorological Department, Mumbai.

“Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate spells of rain with gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph are very likely to occur at isolated places in Pune, Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed, Sangli, Solapur and Ratnagiri during the next 3-4 hours,” said IMD Mumbai.

Earlier, IMD predicted that light rainfall is likely in some districts of Madhya Pradesh in the next 24 hours, which will bring some relief to the residents of the state from the heat.

Meanwhile, for Mumbai, the IMD has predicted ‘partly cloudy skies towards afternoon or evening’ for Saturday and Sunday.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted even hotter weather in Mumbai in the next two days with the temperature reaching 37 degrees Celsius.

The IMD’s 24-hour forecast on Saturday predicted partly cloudy sky towards afternoon or evening on Saturday.

As per the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the AQI in Mumbai is currently in the moderate category, with a reading of 145 . 

For context, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 is ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 is ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 to 500 ‘severe’.

SAFAR has also advised people with respiratory issues to reduce prolonged or heavy exertion outdoors, and to take more breaks and do less intense activities. People are also advised to wear a mask when going out, as the AQI can worsen due to dust and particulate matter.

All police stations of Mumbai Zone 5 awarded ISO certificate

Mumbai: Mumbai Police Zone 5 has been awarded ISO certificate on the basis of excellent service standards. After inspecting all ACP offices and police stations of Zone 5, ISO certificate has been awarded on the basis of excellent service standards. This certificate has been awarded due to cleanliness and good order in all police stations. DCP Ganesh Gawde of Zone 5 has been awarded this certificate. Through the 100 days program of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, good order was established in the police stations, along with this, the standards of the police stations have also been raised.

DCP Ganesh Gawde has expressed happiness over this. Similarly, VB Nagar Police Station included in Zone 5 has also established good order in its police station by doing excellent work and it also meets the service standards, hence VB Nagar Police Station has also obtained ISO certificate through the same standard. On the initiative of Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Pansalkar, the police stations have performed excellently and now ISO certificates are also being awarded to them, which has boosted the morale of the Mumbai Police and they are also taking special care of all the facilities that are to be provided to the complainants and other citizens who come here. Senior Inspector Ravinder Sarsagar of VB Nagar Police Station has also been awarded ISO certificate. During this, he congratulated and praised his staff.

Two accused arrested for illegally uploading Chaavva film

Mumbai: Mumbai Cyber ​​South Police Station has registered a case under the Copyright Act for illegally distributing pirated links of Chaavva film on platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, YouTube and Google, causing a huge financial loss to the entertainment company. 1818 fake links of this film were created and it was made public on social media. During technical investigation, it was found that a person named Randhawan is involved in this case. This 26-year-old youth has been arrested from Pune. He had illegally uploaded the Chaavva film and along with that, he had also purchased the domain. He had also developed an application for this film.

He was arrested from Pune and brought to Mumbai. In this context, the Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested another accused. Mumbai Police had registered a complaint by Rajat Rahul Haksar and on this basis, the police have arrested an accused in Nashik. Earlier, one was arrested from Pune. The accused arrested from Nashik has been identified as Sanhil Dhumal, 26 years old. During the investigation, it was found that he had illegally uploaded the movie Chhavva on social media platforms. He has also been brought to Mumbai by the Crime Branch.

Controversial song against Muslims goes viral on Ram Navami

Mumbai: Police have taken action against three people by registering a case against those who played abusive songs and spewed venom against Muslims on a DJ on Ram Navami, DCP Manish Kalwaniya informed here today. He said that on April 6, during Ram Navami, a DJ was played under the Andheri Metro Bridge in which a specific community was abused. After this song went viral, a case was registered under 296 at the Sahar police station.

The police have taken action against the three accused and have also sent them notices. Not only that, they have also been questioned. The DCP said that since the sections under which the case has been registered do not require arrest and carry a punishment of less than seven years, the police have given notices to these three accused and legal action has been taken. Muslims have expressed their displeasure over this hateful and derogatory song, after which the police took action and registered a case. This case was registered on April 8. This matter also went viral on social media and after criticism from all sides, the police took action.
