Mumbai: Former Maharashtra Home Minister NCP leader Anil Deshmukh has demanded that the state government investigate the complaint of doctors at Lilavati Hospital over the suspension of former police commissioner Parambir Singh from Lilavati Hospital, as the doctors have accused Parambir Singh of demanding Rs 25 lakh per week from each. He said that Parambir Singh’s method is that if you accuse him, he accuses you. He said that Parambir Singh was also the conspirator in the recovery of gelatin explosives in front of industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s house, Antilia, so the matter was investigated and handed over to the ATS, after which it was revealed that Parambir Singh was the main conspirator and mastermind in it. When Parambir Singh was suspended, he accused us. He was questioned by Bombay High Court Judge Chandiwal due to the allegations. When our lawyer said that Parambir Singh should also be summoned to the court in this matter, summons were issued two to three times, but Parambir Singh did not appear and later when a warrant was issued, it was found that he had fled the country. It is surprising that after making such serious allegations, Parambir Singh did not appear in the court proceedings. He said that today Lilavati Hospital has alleged that Parambir Singh has misused his powers and demanded Rs 25 lakh from each doctor, which is why he has been suspended. These allegations have been made by the Board of Directors. A full inquiry should be conducted into this. Regarding the former Police Commissioner, the Lilavati administration felt that he was an officer, but like in the past, they have continued the matter of making accusations. When he was accused in the Antilia case, he had accused me. Similarly, now they are making allegations against Lilavati Hospital as well. He said that a full investigation is necessary so that the facts come out. In the explanation given by Parambir Singh on social media, it is said that he has not been suspended from Lilavati Hospital, but he himself has left this responsibility.

Mumbai: Maharashtra Samajwadi Party leader and MLA Abu Asim Azmi expressed concern over the hate agenda in the country and termed the violence on a Muslim youth in the Latur train as worrisome and said that the atmosphere of hatred has become common in the country since 2014. The Latur train tragedy is the result of the government’s atmosphere of hatred against Muslims. Suo motu action should be taken against the accused as per the Supreme Court’s directive. The government should make a strict law against mob violence and mob lynching to prevent such incidents so that the accused cannot get bail. Commenting on the statement of action against illegal Bangladeshis in Mumbai, Azmi said that Bangladeshi Prime Minister Shaikh Hasina should be deported from the country first. Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde should immediately recommend the central government to deport Shaikh Hasina and Taslima Nasreen and the central government should initiate action against Bangladeshi infiltrators. Moreover, the central government also has the responsibility of border security. Strict action should also be taken against all the relevant institutions involved in providing Aadhaar cards and passports to the infiltrators.

Azmi expressed concern over the increasing incidents of murder and vandalism in Mumbai and said that the number of crimes has increased in Govind Shivaji Nagar, where a 19-year-old girl was shot in the head. The fear of law has disappeared among criminals. Crimes like murder, drug use, extortion and extortion have increased, but instead of controlling them, the government is busy issuing treason certificates to people for not singing “Vande Mataram”.

The public should take notice of this and raise their voice strongly against the government. Azmi described the state of law and order in Maharashtra and Mumbai as deplorable and said that the situation in the state is very bad, yet the government is only focused on the hate agenda.

Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani has directed that the potholes and roads should be completed within the stipulated time frame.

The work of concreting roads under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation under the Mumbai Pothole-Free Mumbai project is progressing at a rapid pace. Concrete roads are providing speed and ease of transportation and are saving valuable time and fuel to the citizens significantly. 77% of the work scheduled under concreting phase 1 has been completed, while 52% of the work has been completed under phase 2, and overall 63% of the work has been successfully completed. Complex planning should be done in terms of roads during the upcoming concreting works. Mumbai Municipal Corporation Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani has given clear instructions that the road started and the excavated road should be completed within the stipulated time. Gagrani has also given instructions that the public representatives should also be informed and given detailed information while concreting work is being done. An ambitious cement concreting project is being implemented to improve the quality of Mumbai’s infrastructure. Concreting work is underway in the city and its suburbs under Phase 1 and Phase 2. Municipal Commissioner Mabhushna Gagrani reviewed the works. He gave these instructions at the time. Additional Municipal Commissioner (Projects) Abhijeet Bangar, Deputy Commissioner (Infrastructure) Mr. Girish Nikam, Chief Engineer (Roads) Mr. Mantaya Swamy and other concerned engineers were present. Municipal Commissioner Gagrani said that the road concreting project will make road travel safer, easier and faster. The incidents of potholes due to rain on concrete roads are minimal, resulting in significant savings in maintenance and upkeep costs. The implementation of the road concreting project has become a historic milestone in modernizing Mumbai’s transport system. Under Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Municipal Corporation’s flagship road cement concreting project, a total of 430.69 km of concreting has been completed as on February 10, 2026. While 77% of the target set under Phase 1 has been achieved, 52% of the target set under Phase 2 has been achieved. That is, the percentage of work completed under Phase 1 and Phase 2 is 63. The implementation is going on in such a way that the citizens face minimum inconvenience due to detailed planning in terms of road during the concreting work. However, to achieve this, it is very important that the road, the excavated road, is completed within the stipulated time. In this session, the work of newly started roads should be completed within the stipulated time. Additional Municipal Commissioner (Projects) Abhijit Bangar said that due to the population density and dense urban infrastructure in Mumbai, this project, which is being implemented on such a large scale, is very challenging. However, the concreting programme is being implemented in a planned manner and effectively. It has been made mandatory for engineers to be present at the work site during the execution of concrete roads. Special attention should be paid to the quality of work while starting the work, quality work does not only mean that the road surface is good, but also that all the components (aggregates) and their related humidity, temperature, etc. should be strictly followed at every level from its base level. There should be great emphasis on getting the work done in this way.

The assistant engineers replied that due to the guidance given by the experts of the Indian Institute of Technology, the concreting work is becoming more standard. There is a period of 75 days before the end of the current session. If these 75 days are carefully planned, a crucial stage of the concreting project can be reached before the monsoon.
