India logs over 30K Covid cases, 295 deaths in a day
India’s daily Covid cases continued to cross 30,000 mark for the last few days with 30,256 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, data released on Monday showed.
With 295 deaths registered in the same time span, the total Covid fatality has risen to 4,45,133, the Union health Ministry’s report said.
The fatality rate has remained at 1.33 per cent for the last few days.
The overall active cases in India stands at 3,18,181, which is 0.99 per cent of the total, the lowest since March 2020.
In the same time span, a total of 43,938 Covid-infected patients recovered, pushing the country’s total recoveries to 3,27,15,105. The Covid recovery rate in the last 24 hours remained at 97.72 per cent.
The daily positivity rate was reported at 2.57 per cent, which remained below 3 per cent for the last 21 days, while the weekly positivity rate was at 2.07 per cent, remaining below 3 per cent for the last 87 days, according to IMD.
A total of 55.36 crore (55,36,21,766) Covid samples have been tested so far in the country, out of which 11,77,607 were tested in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry.
Till date, the country has administered 80.95 crore (80,85,68,144) doses of Covid vaccines, out of which 37,78,296 jabs were given in the last 24 hours, the data has showed.
Almost half of India’s Covid cases are being reported from Kerala which recorded 19,653 fresh cases on Sunday. Kerala remained the top affected Covid state in the country, with a positivity rate of over 17 per cent. It also recorded 152 deaths. Maharashtra registered 3,413 new Covid cases on Sunday, as per the Union Health Ministry’s report.

Mumbai: Fraudster targeting senior citizens at ATM centers arrested; 25 ATM cards and cash recovered.

Mumbai: Police has exposed the accused who came to Mumbai from Odisha and cheated the elderly from the ATM machine on the pretext of withdrawing money from the ATM machine. He was wanted for the last four years. Dandoshi police have also claimed to arrest him. According to the details, the complainant Vishwas Sadanand, 51, filed a complaint that when he went to withdraw money from the ATM center in Malad, a suspect withdrew Rs 40,000 from the ATM against his will. In this case, the police registered a case on the complaint of the complainant. The police examined 60 to 70 CCTV footage in this case and then on the basis of this footage and the information of the informant, the police took Krishna Chandra Acharya into custody from Naigaon and during his search, 25 ATM cards and cash were recovered from his possession. The police arrested the accused and presented him in the court. The court has ordered his remand. In this case, after his arrest, four more cases were revealed against him, according to the police. A total of four cases have been registered against him in Dandoshi and Kasturba Marg and he is wanted in these too. This action was taken on the instructions of Mumbai Police Commissioner Devin Bharti and DCP Mahesh Chamte had issued orders to arrest this accused. This accused used to commit such crimes in Mumbai, Thane, and Odisha. The police is investigating this matter further.

Music has not been completely stopped, but barriers have been erected on this music road only at night. Mumbai Dharamveer, Swarajya Kakkar, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Kinari Road Project (South) Sangeet Marg (Melody Road) has not been closed or removed. Therefore, it has been decided to erect barriers on this 500-meter long road at night. Apart from this, regular traffic will continue on this road during the day as well. Apart from this, when the complaints of the residents of the area were verified, it was found that the noise decibel here is within the permissible decibel limit. Various media outlets are publishing and broadcasting news about the Melody Road on Dharmavir, Swarajyarakshak, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Coastal Road Project (South). This is the clarification given by the Municipal Corporation administration in this regard.
A 500-meter-long Melody Road has been constructed on the northern channel of Dharmavir, Swarajyarakshak, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Coastal Road Project (South) on the road leading out of the tunnel. This road has been developed with the aim that the citizens can enjoy the music produced on this road while driving and for entertainment.
However, the local residents had informed the concerned department about the noise generated during the movement of vehicles on this Melody Road. As per the demand of the local residents, it has been ensured that the noise generated on Melody Road is within the permissible decibel limit keeping in mind the possibility of disturbing the residents.

Mumbai: impostor Ashok Kharat has so far sexually assaulted more than 150 women, it has been revealed in the SIT investigation. When the victim was included in the SIT raid, more new revelations have emerged. The SIT has seized his mobile phone during the investigation. Two and a half thousand numbers were found in his mobile phone, which were in code form. Along with this, Ashok Kharat’s property worth crores of rupees has also been identified. New conclusions are also being made in the investigation related to Ashok Kharat. The SIT has also claimed to have collected several pieces of evidence related to sexual abuse in its investigation. The SIT has appealed to the victims of the impostor to file a complaint against Ashok Kharat and their names will be kept confidential. The police have also found important documents related to Ashok Kharat. Several medicine bottles and pills have also been seized from Kharat’s office and hideout. The SIT team is continuously conducting raids. A property belonging to Ashok Kharat was raided in Kond Corner area. During this raid, sexual abuse of more than 150 women has also been revealed and the SIT is also investigating whether he sexually abused the affected women and where the investigation is also underway. Today, the SIT seized medicine bottles during the raid. The SIT reached the above-mentioned hideout with the affected women. A case has been registered against Ashok Kharat in 8 cases of sexual abuse and two financial matters. Two mobile phones of Ashok Kharat have been seized in which the number of an influential person has been fitted as a dummy number. Several bank accounts of Ashok Kharat have also been frozen by the SIT. Other documents including mobile phones, laptops have been seized. The accused has been sent on remand till April 1.
