Kurla: Patients’ lives are in danger due to the negligence of Fauzia Hospital, how can a hotel and a hospital be in the same building? License revoked, Haji Arafat demands action

Mumbai: Due to the negligence of Kurla Fauziya Hospital, the lives of patients are in danger. Here, BUMS Unani and BHMS doctors are fighting over who does not have permission to practice medicine. Therefore, after an inquiry by the hospital administration, Anwar Ismail Lakdwala, his brother Usman Lakdwala, Dr. Anjum Deshmukh and all the doctors on the panel, the hospital’s license should be canceled. BJP leader and former Minorities Commission chief Haji Arafat Shaikh has demanded this from the caretaker health minister Prakash Abhiyan. He said that patients are facing problems due to the hospital’s irresponsibility and corruption, so an inquiry should be conducted and justice should be given to the people of Kurla. Kurla LBS Marg Perfozia Hospital and Medical is completely fake. The doctor working in this hospital is unregistered in Hepapathy and Ivyani and the hospital staff is also untrained. An inquiry is necessary. How is it possible to have a gym and canteen on the hospital terrace on the first and second floors along with a hotel next to the hotel, this is what the people of Kurla are asking. Haji Arafat has demanded that the health minister cancel the license of the hospital and take action against such BMC officers and medical officers who have given permission to this hospital. This hospital is built on illegal constructions. Why have the ward officer, Assistant Municipal Commissioner Dhanaji Harlekar, fire officer Anil Pawar, health officer Dr. Satish Tahsildar not taken action against this hospital yet? Are these officers still dreaming? Haji Arafat said that there is no space in the hospital. If there is a fire in the hotel and the hospital, how will the fire brigade enter the hospital? It will be difficult to save the patients here in such conditions. He said that due to the criminal negligence of the hospital administration, the lives of the patients are in danger because even the most critical patients are treated not by MD or MBBS doctors, but only by homeopathy and Unani doctors. Many deaths have occurred due to this negligence of the hospital. In such a situation, action should be taken against the hospital. Fire brigade. On what basis has the BMC issued an NOC to the hospital? There are more beds than the capacity of the rooms and there is a shortage of space for patients in the hospital. Treatment is also not done properly here.

MLA Raees Sheikh demands SIR review from Election Commission after Mumbai local body elections, fears massive deletion of voters’ names

Mumbai: After Mumbai Bihar, Maharashtra Samajwadi Party leader and MLA Raees Sheikh has written to the Election Commission demanding a SIR review survey after the local body and BMC elections, saying that if SIR is implemented in the state before the BMC and local body elections, there is a fear that voters will be affected. If the work of revising the voter lists is done during the state local body elections, then there will be no opportunity for political parties and workers to prepare for the elections. As a result, fearing that a large number of voters’ names will be deleted, Samajwadi Party’s ‘Bhiwandi East’ MLA Raees Sheikh has demanded that this program be organized after the elections are over, i.e. in February. MLA Sheikh has written a letter to the Commission in this regard. Giving information about this, MLA Raees Sheikh said that the Central Election Commission has sent a letter to the Chief Electoral Officers of all states and Union Territories on September 25, 2025 regarding the Voter List Revision (SIR) program. There are Supreme Court orders to hold local body elections in Maharashtra by January 31, 2026. Due to this, the administration is busy and there is a shortage of manpower for revision and political parties are planning election campaigns. MLA Raees Sheikh further said that if Special Revision (SIR) of Voter Lists is done in Maharashtra during this period, then the workers and political parties will not be able to focus on each other. This program (SIR) held in Bihar affected 56% of the voters. 25% of the migrants are in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) area and 5.5% in the rest of Maharashtra. Only 46% of voters in the state have a birth certificate and 94% of voters have Aadhaar. As a result, if the SIR is taken up during the election period, it may affect the migrant, Dalit, minority, tribal voters. A large number of voters’ names may be deleted. Therefore, the work of in-depth revision of the electoral rolls (SIR) should be started after the local body elections i.e. after February 2026, before which a meeting of all political parties should be called in this regard. MLA Raees Sheikh said that a letter has been sent to the Chief Commissioner of the Central Election Commission Dinesh Kumar demanding the presentation of this (SIR) program.
