Akhil Akkineni, the younger son of Tollywood superstar Nagarjuna, deactivated his Instagram comments hours after announcing his engagement with girlfriend Zainab Ravdjee, on Tuesday. The couple received hate for the age difference between the two and also for belonging to different religions.

On Tuesday, Akhil took everyone by surprised as he announced that he is now engaged to Zainab. “Found my forever… Happy to announce that Zainab Ravdjee and I are happily engaged (sic),” he wrote.

While congratulatory wishes poured in for the couple on social media, a bunch of netizens also trolled them for the massive age difference between the two. For those unversed, Zainab is nine years older to Akhil.

Some trolls also dropped comments under other posts of Akhil, criticising him for the interfaith relationship with Zainab. “You guys are spoiling the overall welfare of the culture and India (sic),” a user wrote, while another quipped, “South’s Priyanka and Nick. “While Akhil did not respond to the hate messages, he simply deactivated the comments section under the engagement post to avoid the barrage of hate coming the soon-to-be-wed couple’s way.

On Tuesday, Nagarjuna welcomed Zainab into his family with a heartfelt post on social media. Sharing a picture of Akhil and Zainab on X, he wrote, “We are thrilled to announce the engagement of our son, @AkhilAkkineni8, to our daughter in law to be Zainab Ravdjee! We couldn’t be happier to welcome Zainab into our family. Please join us to congratulate the young couple and wish them a lifetime filled with love, joy, and your countless blessings (sic).”

Akhil and Zainab’s engagement announcement comes days before the former’s half brother Naga Chaitanya’s wedding with actress Sobhita Dhulipala. The two are set to tie the knot in a traditional ceremony on December 4.

Gangster Goldy Brar, who is a member of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, has taken responsibility for the blast at rapper-singer Badshah’s club in Chandigarh. On Monday night (November 25), two explosions were reported outside clubs in Sector 26. The incident raised concerns of a possible extortion attempt. It took place near Seville Bar and Lounge, and the De’ Orra Club. CCTV footage from the scene has also surfaced which shows a man throwing suspected crude bombs outside the clubs before fleeing the area.

Now, in a Facebook post, Goldy Brar has confirmed that his gang was behind the blast.

Taking responsibility, he wrote on the social media platform that the members of his gang had called the club owners for ‘protection money’, however, they ignored their calls.

He stated that the attack was to threaten them and give them a warning.

Bollywood’s OG queen, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, shared a hard-hitting video message for her fans on social media on Monday, in which she advised women to stand up for themselves and never compromise their worth because of someone else’s actions. This comes amid reports of trouble in her marriage with actor Abhishek Bachchan.

Aishwarya took to her Instagram to share a video, in which she can be heard saying, “Street harassment, how to deal with it? Avoid eye contact? No. Look the problem directly in the eyes. Hold your head high. Feminine and feminist. My body, my worth.”

She went on to say, “Never compromise your worth. Do not doubt yourself. Stand up for your worth. Don’t blame your dress or your lipstick. Street harassment is never your fault.”

The video was a part of her campaign for the brand, L’oreal Paris, on the occasion of International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Aishwarya has been all over the news of late due to rumours of her separation with Abhishek Bachchan. Reports about trouble in their paradise have been doing the rounds for a while now, and their recent solo appearances have only added fuel to the fire.

Things further escalated when Abhishek did not wish both Aishwarya, and their daughter Aaradhya, on their birthdays on social media, while he did it for other members in the his family. He was even missing at Aaradhya’s birthday bash and the other Bachchans too did not participate in it.

Not just that, but a few days ago, rumour mills went abuzz with claims that Abhishek had an extramarital affair with his Dasvi co-star Nimrat Kaur, which is the reason why Aishwarya decided to step back from the marriage.
