Tips to make travelling comfortable
We all enjoy travelling, and now that the world has opened up as a result of the pandemic, everyone has a reason to travel even more, almost with a vengeance!
However, travel can be very stressful on both the body and the mind. Travelling disrupts our routine, time zone differences can disrupt sleep patterns, and simply being in a new location can push us out of our comfort zone. Anxiety begins to creep in at this point, causing imbalances and disturbances in our physical, emotional, and mental bodies.
Jenil Dholakia, Holistic Yoga and Well-being Coach shares five ways in which yoga can help you manage travel anxiety:
Take deep breaths: Allow the breath to be your best friend before and during your journey. Simply remember to take deep belly breaths whenever you feel overwhelmed by any situation. Deeply inhale through the nose and slowly exhale through the mouth. After 5-10 breaths, you will be in a much better position to deal with the situation.
Yoga on the go: Long flights and car/bus rides can cause stiffness and soreness. Stretches and poses for stress relief include neck rolls to the left and right, shoulder rotations clockwise and anticlockwise, spinal stretches – lateral and twisting, seated marjariasana/cat pose, Uttanasana/standing forward fold, and Adho mukha svanasana/downward facing dog pose. It is critical to restore joint mobility after prolonged sitting.
Mindful mornings: Set aside at least ten minutes each morning to sit in silence. Simply close your eyes and bring your attention to the present moment. Beginning the day in this manner will assist you in calming your thoughts, controlling your anxiety, and preparing you to go through the day in a balanced state of mind. You can conclude the meditation by saying aloud, “I am ready to face the day and I choose to go with the flow.” This will train your subconscious mind to be mindful all day.
Viparaita Karni / Legs up the wall pose: After a long day, this is a great pose to jump into when you’re exhausted, especially if your legs are tired from all the walking. Simply lie on your back on the floor and raise your legs to form a capital L shape against the wall. If you hold this pose for 5 minutes before going to bed, you will fall asleep like a baby.
Nature connection: Spending time in nature is the most healing thing you can do. Spend some time outside of your daily routine in a park or near a natural body. Turn off your phone and surrender with all of your senses. See the various colours and patterns around you, listen to the sounds of birds, waterfalls, and rivers, smell the various fragrances of flowers and trees, touch the soft grass and leaves, and fully immerse yourself in nature’s beauty. Allow nature to heal, recharge, and uplift you.

Shah Rukh Khan Feels ‘Breathless’ After Quitting Smoking: Know 3 Major Reasons Behind This Withdrawal Symptom
Referred to as Bollywood’s Badshaah, Shah Rukh Khan turned 59 on November 2 this year. The actor’s smoking habits are not unknown since SRK himself once revealed smoking up to 100 cigarettes in a day. While interacting with his fans during a meet and greet on his birthday, he revealed that he has finally quit smoking for better health.
In a video that is going viral on social media, SRK is seen sharing his latest lifestyle update, where he shared that he has quit smoking. He also shared how he thought quitting smoking might not make him feel breathless, but it does. “Mujhe laga tha ki I will not feel so breathless, but abhi bhi feel kar raha hu (I thought I wouldn’t feel breathless after quitting smoking, but I still do),” SRK said.
Reasons why one feels breathless after they quit smoking
If you have been a smoker for many years of your life, quitting it will have a few natural reactions on your body. Your body will take some time to get accustomed to getting rid of a habit. Once a person quits smoking, their body automatically enters the self-repair phase, which is why one might feel breathless. It is just an effect of the healing process.
After quitting, your lungs start to repair themselves, which includes increased mucus production to clear out tar and toxins. This excess mucus can make you feel congested and short of breath. Although there are many effects seen in the body after one decides to quit smoking, here are three main reasons why breathlessness occurs.
Nicotine withdrawal
Nicotine withdrawal can cause anxiety, restlessness, and a heightened awareness of breathing, sometimes leading to a feeling of breathlessness, even if your lungs are actually improving. Nicotine affects dopamine levels in the brain, which play a big role in mood regulation. When you stop smoking, dopamine levels drop, making you feel irritable, frustrated, or anxious.
Breathing pattern changes
Some people change their breathing patterns without realising it. People who have smoked for a long time might begin shallow breathing and become more aware of their breathing, which might lead to making them feel breathless. Breathing patterns might vary when someone stops smoking because of changes in both physical and psychological factors. Over time, smoking changes a person’s breathing patterns, so it takes time for their body and mind to adapt.
Feeling anxious might lead to shortness of breath
Anxiety and shortness of breath often go hand in hand, especially after quitting smoking. Anxiety often leads to shallow, rapid breathing (chest breathing), which can cause an imbalance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the body, leading to lightheadedness and a feeling of shortness of breath.
Quitting smoking can be a difficult journey, but it can be the best decision you take for your health. Breathing exercises and physical activities can help with battling the withdrawal symptoms.

The police also registered a criminal case against those involved in the video. It also said that the fake police inspector from the video has been arrested.
“One Can’t Violate Law Of The Land, For Cheap Publicity! A viral video of a woman being allegedly arrested by Mumbai Police, in a case of obscenity is not true – insignia & uniform has been misused. However, a criminal case has been registered against those involved in the misleading video, at Oshiwara Pstn under sections 171, 419, 500, 34 IPC,” the post read. It further read, “While further investigation is on, the fake inspector is under arrest & the vehicle has been seized too. #RealityCheck”The FIR was filed after a video of Uorfi went viral in which in which she was being arrested by two women dressed as police officers. She was seen taken into a vehicle by the women. The video sparked concerns over Uorfi’s arrest. However, the actress later revealed that it was a promotional stunt.
