There is a RSS gang in Kerala Police, says top CPI leader Annie Raja

Top CPI leader Annie Raja on Wednesday levelled serious allegations against the Kerala Police by saying that there exists an RSS gang in the police.
She said that a section in the Kerala Police is working against the accepted policy of the state government towards women and this is being done purposely as there is a RSS gang in the police.
She said the time has come for a separate department to be set up exclusively for Women and children.
“Today it’s clubbed with another department. We have raised this demand with the Left Democratic Front and we expect that it will be taken up and we also need a separate minister for this,” said Raja.
Raja was expressing concern after several young women were subjected to cruelty in the name of dowry, while some of them committed suicide.

SC stays Karnataka High Court order nullifying Congress MLA’s election

New Delhi, Oct 14: The Supreme Court on Tuesday stayed a decision of the Karnataka High Court that had nullified the election of Congress MLA K.Y. Nanjegowda from the Malur Assembly constituency in the 2023 polls.
However, a Bench of Justices Surya Kant and Joymala Bagchi did not interfere with the direction to the Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding recounting of votes but ordered the poll body to keep the revised results in a sealed cover.
“Issue notice. In the meantime, the operation of the impugned order of the Karnataka High Court, to the extent it set aside the election of the appellant (Nanjegowda), shall remain stayed. Resultantly, the appellant shall continue as the elected Member of the Legislative Assembly,” ordered the Justice Kant-led Bench.
However, the ECI is directed to comply with the directions to the extent of recounting of votes and submit the result in a sealed cover, and the recounting results shall not be disclosed without the permission of the Supreme Court, it added.
In an order passed on September 16, the Karnataka High Court had nullified Nanjegowda’s election but granted him 30-day timeline to file an appeal before the Supreme Court. If the apex court does not give any relief, the Congress legislator will lose his seat, clarified a bench of Justice R. Devdas, while pronouncing the verdict on a petition filed by the defeated BJP candidate K.S. Manjunath Gowda.
Manjunath Gowda has moved the Karnataka High Court, seeking a recount of votes polled in the Assembly elections, as the margin between him and Nanjegowda was just 248.
The BJP candidate had claimed that counting officials called him on the phone and said that he had won the elections. But later, it was announced that the Congress candidate had won by a margin of 248 votes. Hence, he had moved the Karnataka HC, seeking a recount of the votes polled.
The election petition was presented under Section 81 of the Representation of the People’s Act, 1951, and Rule 4 of the Karnataka Election Petition Rules.
Manjunath Gowda has prayed the Karnataka High Court to call for records, documents, videos, computers, including the one where the rejection order was drafted, and all further material and data regarding the election, including the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and the postal ballots, the videography and computations relating to elections, and to hold them in custody.
The petition further demanded to set aside the election of Nanjegowda on the grounds mentioned under Section 100 (1) (d), (i), (ii), (iii) and (iv) as enumerated therein and to declare him as the elected candidate from the Malur constituency.

Rajat Bedi says Aryan Khan is a huge fan of ‘Koi Mil Gaya’

Mumbai, Oct 14: Actor Rajat Bedi, who has made his comeback with ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’, has shared that the director of the show Aryan Khan, and his friends are huge fans of ‘Koi Mil Gaya’.
Rajat essays the role of a ‘has been’ star in the recently released streaming show, helmed by Aryan, who is the son of Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan.
Rajat recently spoke with IANS in the Bandra West area of Mumbai following the success of the show. He also cleared the air around his earlier statement about Rakesh Roshan which was misconstrued.
“Aryan and many other Aryan’s associates, as children, have been fans of ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ and I’m very blessed that Rakesh Roshan at that time gave me this opportunity to be a part of the film. I did feel a little bad after the film. But, if you actually look at my whole journey, it is a lot thanks to ‘Koi Mil Gaya’. Even today, people ask me, ‘You were in the Alien film, right? You broke Rohit’s cycle, right?’. It is one of the most iconic and lovable films by the audience”.
He further mentioned, “So, when Aryan and others saw ‘Koi Mil Gaya’, they grew up and when he was making something with a full Bollywood flavour, he was very sure that for this character, he needed me. He probably knew that I was relevant at that time. Then I disappeared for 20 years. So, Aryan found me. And what could be a bigger blessing than this? Really, when you ask for something from the universe and the universe fulfills it. I was waiting for the comeback that Aryan has given me”.
‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’ is available to stream on Netflix.

Palghar News: Frustrated Over Highway Traffic Chaos, Vasai Residents To Send Letter To PM Modi Seeking ‘Permission For Suicide’

Palghar: Frustrated by relentless traffic jams on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad National Highway, residents living along the stretch in Vasai have announced an unusual protest — sending a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking “permission for suicide” to highlight their daily suffering.
Locals claim that the highway, which passes through areas such as Sasunavghar, Maljipada, Sasupada, Bobat Pada, and Patharpada, has become nearly impassable. Potholes, haphazard traffic management, and a growing number of vehicles have turned even short commutes into hours-long ordeals.
“Sometimes we can’t even step out of our homes because vehicles are backed up for kilometers,” said one resident. “Children are missing school, and parents are scared to send them out.”
Despite repeated complaints to authorities, no lasting solution has been found. As a result, members of the Bhumiputra Foundation have decided to send a collective memorandum by post to the Prime Minister on Thursday, October 16, from the Sasunavghar Post Office.
The protest call, announced by Foundation president Sushant Patil, has already gone viral on social media, sparking intense discussion and public outrage.
Action against the negligence of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), which they say has disrupted daily life.
Disciplinary measures against responsible officials.
Immediate road repairs, improved traffic management, and the creation of alternative routes.
Locals say this is not just a protest, but a desperate cry for help after years of official indifference to one of the region’s worst traffic crises.
