‘Should Not Touch It’: John Abraham SLAMMED For Holding Manu Bhaker’s Olympics Medal In Viral Photo

Published

on

Bollywood actor John Abraham caught up with double bronze medalist Manu Bhaker recently and shared a picture with her on social media on Wednesday. However, the photo seemed to upset netizens as they criticised the actor for holding one of Bhaker’s medals.

Bhaker scripted history as she became the first Indian woman shooter to win medals at the Olympics. She won two bronze medals at the Paris Olympics 2024 — one for finishing third in the 25m women’s Pistol shooting event and another for being third in Women’s 10M Air Pistol Individual event.

John slammed for holding Manu Bhaker’s medal

On Wednesday morning, John took to his Instagram to share a happy picture in which he posed with Bhaker. While the champion can be seen holding one of her medals, the other one was in John’s hand.

“Had the pleasure of meeting @bhakermanu and her lovely family. She has made India proud!!! 🇮🇳 Respect,” he captioned the photo.

However, netizens opined that John had no right to pose with the medal in his hands. “You should not have held the medal won by her! She has two hands to hold both the medals! You could have simply had a fan moment with her,” a user wrote.

“No one should be allowed to touch the medal… Earning the medal and posing with it are two very different things!” another netizen commented.

John Abraham’s upcoming projects

On the work front, John is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Vedaa, which also stars Sharvari Wagh in the lead.

The film has been reportedly inspired by true events and it is set to hit the silver screens on August 15, on the occasion of Independence Day. It will clash with Shraddha Kapoor’s highly-anticipated Stree 2, and Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein.

Sohum Shah Announces Tumbbad 2 Following First Part's Re-Release: 'Bigger Twists, More Intense Exploration'

Actor Sohum Shah on Saturday announced a sequel to his 2018 critically acclaimed film, “Tumbbad”, a day after the movie was re-released in theatres. Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, the atmospheric horror drama received critical acclaim upon its release six years ago. It was produced by the actor under his banner Sohum Shah Films.

Shah assured fans that the sequel of “Tumbbad” will dig deeper into the theme of greed. “‘Tumbbad’ has been a special journey and a labour of love for us, and to see the love it continues to receive is overwhelming and only ratifies our belief and ethos of Sohum Shah Films, that content is king.

“With ‘Tumbbad 2’, we want to push the cinematic experience and boundaries even further. ‘Tumbbad 2’ will take audiences deeper into the world we’ve created, with bigger twists and a more intense exploration of what happens when greed knows no limits,” the actor-producer said in a statement.

Set in a Maharashtra village, “Tumbbad” explores Vinayak Rao’s (Shah) descent into greed and obsession as he seeks out a mythical treasure guarded by the malevolent entity Hastar. With the sequel, the makers promise an even more gripping narrative that builds on the dark, mythical universe of “Tumbbad”, the press release said.

“Tumbbad”, which was re-released in theatres on Friday, received a positive response from the audience.

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor will soon move into a uber-luxurious Rs 231 crore mansion in London’s Notting Hill with husband Anand Ahuja. The property has been purchased by her father-in-law Harish Ahuja, and the actress will shift base there after it undergoes redevelopment.

Harish Ahuja purchased the property which was previously owned by a UK-registered ‘charity and religious order’ in July 2023. The property spans across 20,000 square feet and is located just a stone’s throw away from Kensington Gardens.

The eight-storeyed convent building is currently undergoing redevelopment, and while Sonam and Anand will move into one section of the property, another section is being converted into flats.

Sonam and Anand tied the knot in May 2018 after several years of dating, and soon after their marriage, the actress moved to London, where her husband resided. In 2022, the couple welcomed their first child, a son, whom they named Vayu.

After being a hands-on mommy and spending all the time with her child, Sonam is now ready to make a comeback in Bollywood. The actress recently admitted that she was apprehensive of moving out of their London home and returning to Mumbai, but they decided on it as she would have to spend majority of her time in the city due to work.

“I’m super excited to face the camera again post my pregnancy. I love being an actor and I love living so many interesting characters through my profession,” she gushed.

Anand is a successful entrepreneur himself, and the family owns a mammoth mansion in one of the posh localities of Delhi as well.
