Shanghai Cooperation Organisation anti-terror meet begins in Delhi

The meeting of the Regional Anti-Terror structure (RATS) began here on Monday with an eye on curbing terror activities.

Delegations from the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) countries are participating in the meeting.

The RATS is a permanent anti-terror unit under the ambit of the SCO-based in Uzbekistan. The main aim is to promote cooperation among the member countries against terrorism.

SCO chairmanship is by rotation for a year between the member states. India is currently heading the executive council as the chairman.

It is expected that discussion will be on the security situation in Afghanistan as the Taliban has used violence and it is feared that it could become a terror launch pad and drug smuggling hub, sources indicated.

Anti-terror teams from China, Pakistan, Russia and other Asian countries are participating in the meet from May 16 to 19.

Mumbai: The 9 suspected terrorists arrested by the Delhi Special Cell on charges of plotting to destabilize the country had no plan to avenge the Bandra Mosque martyrdom. Delhi Special Cell has arrested Sajid Mehboob Sheikh alias Arbaaz Khan from Kurla, a resident of Member-at-Law Rizwan Sheikh, near Mumbai. Along with this, the Special Cell has arrested 9 accused on charges of being associated with the ISI and Dawood Ibrahim network. Their target was Delhi, Mumbai and other cities. These accused had also planned terrorist acts. The arrested accused have confessed during the investigation that important cities including Mumbai were inspected and espionage was also done. Along with this, a map of Dadar Railway Station was also recovered from the possession of the accused. The accused belong to Maharashtra, Delhi, Punjab and Nepal. Pakistani-made hand grenades, glock pistols, 25 live cartridges and explosives have been recovered from their possession. The accused include Harvinder Singh, Gagandeep Singh, Manjit Singh, Nepalese citizen Ang Kami Lama and Vijay Surf Shooter from Pune. After the Maharashtra terrorist connection, now the security agencies have intensified the operation here too. Further arrests in the case have not been ruled out. The Delhi Special Cell has said that the search for more people involved in this network is ongoing and more details are being ascertained.

Case registered against Bajrang Dal workers for bringing pigs to create ruckus in Mira Bhayander, two FIRs registered for disturbing the environment

The police have registered a case against the miscreants for creating a ruckus and disturbing the environment in Poonam Coaster Society, two cases of interference in the communal and government work. On the other hand, the police have registered a case under the Maharashtra Police Act against 50 to 60 volunteers including Bajrang Dal’s Nagnath Kamble for disturbing the order. Mumbai: Crime Branch Unit 10 has claimed to have arrested the absconding accused involved in the murder from Surat Gujarat. According to the details, on May 24, the body of a 55-year-old man named Yusuf was found in Powai Tanga village, Saki Vihar. Someone had stabbed him to death with a sharp weapon and stabbed him on the chest. The police registered a murder case in this matter and started investigation. Then they examined about 100 CCTV footage in this matter and it was found that the accused had fled after the murder in Gujarat. After that, the police arrested the accused from here and handed him over to Powai police for further action. The accused, Deepak alias Deepa Nathu Prasad Verma, 26, had an argument with Yusuf over something a week ago, which angered him and he killed Yusuf and fled.
