The Nirmal Nagar police have booked four individuals, including three women, for allegedly assaulting police constable Sameer Bhingardive and threatening to file a false case against him. Bhingardive, 40, is assigned to the Cyber Crime Cell and is responsible for tracing cybercrime suspects and recovering stolen or missing mobile phones. He resides at the Worli Police Camp.

According to the FIR, the incident occurred on October 25 at around 6.30 pm. Bhingardive had traced a missing mobile phone and contacted its owner, autorickshaw driver Virendrakumar Saroj, instructing him to submit it at the police station.

Mumbai: A shocking stabbing incident came to light at the Simba Uproar 2026 event held at the MMRDA Grounds in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) on April 11, raising concerns over security arrangements at the venue.

An MBA student, identified as Aditya Mukhi, was allegedly stabbed at the event and sustained serious injuries. Mukhi, a resident of Sion, was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and is currently undergoing treatment. The attack has raised serious questions about security checks at large public gatherings, as the event was attended by a huge crowd.

Moreover, concerns are also being raised over how the attacker was able to carry a weapon inside the venue, when there are strict checks and very limited items allowed to be carried inside the venue. Meanwhile, on the incident, a case has been registered at the BKC Police Station, and an investigation is currently underway.

Notably, the MMRDA Grounds in Mumbai is a major venue where many concerts and large public events are held regularly, and an incident like this is alarming because it raises fears about safety and security for future events.

Simba Uproar 2026 is a major hip-hop music event that brings together some of India’s popular rap and hip-hop artists for a large-scale live concert, which includes high-energy performances by artists such as KRSNA, Sambata, and Dhanji.

Meanwhile, recently, during rapper-singer Yo Yo Honey Singh’s concert at MMRDA grounds, a viral video showed chaos at the concert after a female fan attempted to climb a gate mid-show while Singh was performing. In the video, a female fan was seen attempting to climb a closed gate at the venue to enter the singer’s concert while waiting outside. Mumbai: The Borivali police on April 9 registered an FIR against a Dubai-based couple and fashion designer Riyaz Gangji for allegedly issuing death threats and demanding ₹1.5 crore from a Borivali-based developer. The accused couple have been identified as Akil Mukhi and Fajila Mukhi.

According to the FIR, the complainant, Sameer Bhube, 49, a resident of Borivali West, is the proprietor of Navkar Builders and Developers. Bhube stated that in April 2016, an estate agent facilitated a flat booking in his Royal Green project in Marol for Akil Mukhi and Fajila Mukhi for ₹72 lakh. While the buyers allegedly paid ₹45 lakh, the remaining amount is pending, and the project faced delays due to administrative issues.

Bhube claimed his company paid ₹4.2 lakh as rent to the buyers throughout 2025. During a meeting in November 2025, the buyers were informed possession would be handed over by January 5, despite the outstanding balance. However, on January 7, the Dubai-based couple allegedly telephoned Bhube, claiming underworld connections and demanding ₹1.5 crore.

The complaint also names another individual, Riyaz Gangji, owner of the Libas fashion brand, who allegedly supported the accused and threatened to halt the builder’s ongoing projects by influencing authorities. Bhube further alleged that a defamatory news item was published against him to damage his reputation, and that its headline was circulated to him via WhatsApp.

The police registered a case against the trio under sections 3(5) (common intention), 308 (extortion), and 356 (defamation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
