Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Monday virtually interacted with about 100 doctors from across the country and members of the Indian Medical Association.

During the interaction, he said that while it is important to be on the alert and follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour including wearing of masks, it is equally important to prevent an infodemic and share only authentic and verified information on Covid-19.

“Union Ministry of Health has been sharing information on various aspects of Covid prevention and management. I urge everyone to access and share only verified information and encourage others to also do so.

“You have been our ambassadors during the country’s fight against Covid-19. I value your contribution and salute the selfless dedication and service of the healthcare professionals. I urge you to be our partners and ambassadors to prevent an infodemic by educating the public on various aspects of the Covid-19 disease and its prevention and management aspects,” he said, expressing confidence that doctors would continue to work dedicatedly in this fight, as they have been doing till now.

Mandaviya emphasised on mitigating even the slightest sense of panic in the citizens by making them aware about current status of Covid-19 data, the vaccination programme, and government efforts, and cautioned against complacency. He urged on adherence to ‘Test-Track-Treat-Vaccinate & Adherence to Covid Appropriate Behaviour’ and uptake of precaution doses for the vulnerable groups.

“Only this way we will be able to preserve the gains made so far through continued collective efforts,” he stressed.

Informing the doctors about the mock drill planned for Tuesday, Mandaviya emphasised that “based on our previous experience of managing this pandemic, we are undertaking several exercises, one such being the mock drill that will happen across the country tomorrow. Such exercises would help our operational readiness, help in filling gaps if any and will consequently strengthen our public health response”.

Mumbai: Nasik TCS case targeting Nida Khan, police tarnishing its image: Social activist Niranjan Tiklay

Mumbai: Nashik TCS case has no connection with religious conversion. In this case, Nida Khan has been targeted even though she was not the HR head, yet she is being tried by the media. The Nashik case is not a case of inciting religious sentiments and religious hatred, love jihad or corporate jihad. It is only a case of sexual harassment, but Nida Khan has been targeted in it. This kind of serious allegation has been made by social worker Teesta Setalvad in a press conference organized by APCR here today at Marathi Patrikar Singh. She said that the media made the identity of a woman public and if the police had revealed this, then the news should have been broadcast regarding the police. An attempt should have been made to talk to the victim and the complainant. There are many such cases in which any accusation can be made against anyone, but in the Nashik case, an environment was created which is completely wrong. Nashik social worker Niranjan Takle said that the police have tried to set someone’s political agenda in this case, whereas the police should not do so because it tarnishes the image of the police. What happened in Badlapur? Akshay Shinde was encountered, after which the Badlapur agenda was run by putting up banners in accordance with it, after which the court declared it a murder. He said that in the same way, in the case of Somnath Suryavanshi, how much violence was inflicted on him, due to which he died in custody, the court has also ordered to register a case. Along with this, an agenda has been run in the Nashik case as well and under a specific agenda, Nida Khan, an employee of this company TCS, was targeted. Nida Khan is a minor employee but she was presented as the HR head. The media has conducted her trial. Valmik Karad did not reach the police until he surrendered. A case was registered against Ashok Kharat a year ago but he was arrested after Ajit Pawar’s death. The police is defaming itself to set someone’s political agenda. He further said that the way it is happening in the Nashik case, it is clear that the investigation done by the police is being made public through a media trial while there is no mention of conversion in it. In this press conference, the APCR has also presented a fact-finding report in the Nashik case. Dolphy D’Souza, Shakir Sheikh and others were present in this conference.

Mumbai: The revised plan of Mumbai Metro Route 5 has received the final approval of the state government. We have continuously taken forward the Thane-Bhiwandi Kalyan Metro project. We raised our voice in the legislature and finally the path for this Rs 18,130 crore mega project has been paved. Samajwadi Party MLA from Bhiwandi East Raees Sheikh said that our struggle for the development of Bhiwandi and the convenience of passengers has paid off. Giving information in this regard, MLA Raees Sheikh said that Bhiwandi is a logistics hub, but Bhiwandi, which is the Manchester of the state, is not on the railway line. There is a lot of pressure on the roads here and the condition of the roads is poor. It is the fastest growing city in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority area. Considering the current traffic situation in Bhiwandi city and the delay in the construction of the metro line by demolishing the existing flyover, we had been continuously demanding improvement in this project. Finally, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took notice of it and the Urban Development Department on Wednesday approved the revised project plan of Mumbai Metro Line 5 (Phase 1, Phase 2 and Extension Phase 3) at a cost of Rs 18,130 crore, which is 34 km long and has 19 stations. The project, which has been stalled for the last five years, will now be completed at a fast pace. The development of Bhiwandi will now accelerate.
