Instead of repairing, retired judge’s washing machine was damaged, had to return the money along with the money recovered for repair
On the complaint of a retired judge, the company’s authorized dealer damaged the washing machine instead of repairing it. The company did not pay attention even after complaining several times to the customer service center.
A suit was filed in the Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission I by a retired judge. On the orders of the Commission, the dealer of the company had to return Rs 5,000 charged for the repair of the washing machine and Rs 3,000 as mental agony and litigation expenses.
AK Garg, a retired judge living in Lawyers Colony and currently the Chairman of Railway Tribunal Prayagraj, had purchased washing machines of IFB company in the year 2015. In April 2023, when the washing machine malfunctioned, the company’s customer service number was contacted. Dinesh Lavania, proprietor of Rudra Refrigeration located in Maruti Estate, sent two of his employees. He took the machine away saying that the gear box of the washing machine was defective and it cost him Rs 5,000.
The next day I called and told that the drum of the machine was also bad. Told to replace both the things and took Rs 5.25 thousand in the name of repair. The machine stopped working after just two weeks. The judge complained about this to Dinesh Lavania, he did not pay any attention. Judge AK Garg had filed a complaint in the commission three months ago.
Commission Chairman Sarvesh Kumar and member Dr. Arun Kumar ordered Dinesh Lavania, proprietor of Rudra Refrigeration, to pay eight thousand rupees to the complainant.

MLA Abu Asim Azmi protests on the steps of Vidhan Bhavan against injustice in the budget towards minorities

Mumbai: Maharashtra Samajwadi Party leader and MLA Abu Asim Azmi has raised a serious allegation of neglecting minorities in the budget, protesting against the injustice done to minorities in the budget. On the 12th day of the Maharashtra Assembly Budget Session 2026, the discriminatory budget of the Mahayoti government was exposed outside the House. Not even 0.5% of the budget was allocated for the 12% Muslim population of Maharashtra. Is there no place for minorities in the huge budget of Rs 7.69 lakh crore? This is not just a budget but a ‘blueprint’ to deprive a large section of the population of development. The slogan of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” has proved to be completely hollow here. Azmi said that they will continue this fight for rights from the House to the streets. Today, Maharashtra Samajwadi Party leader and MLA Abu Asim Azmi protested on the steps of Vidhan Bhavan against the injustice done to minorities and their deprivation from the budget.
