Rahul Gandhi is not alone; millions of workers support him: CM Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru, Oct 1: Responding to the alleged death threat to Rahul Gandhi by a BJP leader in Kerala, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Wednesday that the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition was no longer alone, as he has the support of millions of workers who stand firmly behind him.
Taking social media X, CM Siddaramaiah stated, “A BJP spokesperson has openly issued a death threat, saying “We will shoot Rahul Gandhi in the chest, beware..!!” against the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, who has been consistently raising his voice against the BJP and Sangh Parivar. The silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah over such a statement naturally raises the question of whether they, too, agree with it.”
“Issuing threats to silence ideological opponents, and when that fails, eliminating them altogether, is nothing new for the BJP and Sangh Parivar. In the past, they stood behind the scenes and lent support to the killings of their opponents, but now they have descended directly into the arena. Those who cannot face their adversaries ideologically through dialogue and debate, resorting to physical elimination only exposes their intellectual bankruptcy,” CM Siddaramaiah stated.
“Are the victims of the Sangh Parivar’s goons just one or two? This chain of killings, which began with Mahatma Gandhi, continues with Govind Pansare, Narendra Dabholkar, M.M. Kalburgi, and Gauri Lankesh — the list goes on. Even if Sangh Parivar leaders deny any connection with these assassins and wash their hands of it, they cannot erase the bloodstains on their hands,” CM Siddaramaiah said.
He further stated, “In the past, not only I but also many writers, thinkers, and activists in the country have received death threats through letters. The police are investigating these matters. But I am not someone who will abandon the ideology I believe in out of fear of such threats. I have faith that one day or the other, these evildoers will have to kneel before justice.”
“This is not the first time Rahul Gandhi’s family has faced death threats. It was at the hands of such assassins that Rahul lost his grandmother and father. Let the BJP’s murderous mindset understand this — Rahul Gandhi is no longer alone; he has the support of millions of workers standing firmly behind him,” CM Siddaramaiah concluded.
It can be recalled that Pintu Mahadev allegedly issued a “chilling death threat” to Rahul Gandhi during a televised debate on News18 Kerala. Mahadev openly declared that “Rahul Gandhi will be shot in the chest.”
Congress has written to Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah over the death threat issued to Rahul Gandhi by one of the party’s spokespersons, Pintu Mahadev, on live television. The party has asked the Home Minister to take “immediate and strict” action against the BJP spokesperson.

Big Developments for Malegaon: Waqf Board Sub-office, ₹200 Crore Sports Proposal, and Scholarships for Minority Students

Malegaon, Correspondent: Malegaon city has received major positive news from Mumbai. Within the next 8 to 10 days, a sub-office of the Waqf Board will be inaugurated in Malegaon in the presence of Education Minister Dada Bhuse, Waqf Board Chairman, and local MLA Mufti Ismail Qasmi.
Until now, people of Malegaon had to travel to Aurangabad, Nashik, and other cities for registration and management of mosque, madrasa, khanqah, and graveyard properties, facing several difficulties. The establishment of this sub-office has been a long-standing demand of Malegaon citizens.
This achievement has been made possible through the continuous efforts of Mufti Ismail Qasmi, Advocate Momin Mujeeb, AIMPLB Secretary Maulana Umrain Rehmani, AIMIM Chief Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi, Minister Dada Bhuse, and MP Dr. Shobha Tai Bachhav. Over the last two months, several meetings were held in Mumbai with Minority Affairs Minister Manikrao Kokate and departmental secretaries, where repeated representations were submitted.
During a recent meeting, Minister Kokate directed the CEO of the Waqf Board to look into the matter of excessive taxation on Waqf income. As per the July 5, 2023 Government Resolution, Waqf properties are supposed to be charged 2% tax, but currently 7% tax along with ₹1,000 penalty per year is being collected. Minister Kokate assured that this will be reviewed in the upcoming meeting, with a positive indication that the state may soon finalize the 2% rate.
Another major development came for the city’s youth. A ₹200 crore proposal has been submitted under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) for the development of a modern sports complex at Aziz Kalu Stadium in Malegaon. Once approved, construction will begin soon, providing the backward city—home to nearly 1.5 million people—with much-needed sports and recreation facilities.
In addition, Waqf Board has approved a scholarship scheme of ₹1 lakh per student for economically weak minority students pursuing PhD. Eligible students can approach the offices of **Khalid Sikandar or MLA Mufti Ismail Qasmi at Darul Khair for further details.
The joint efforts of community leaders, politicians, and social activists—particularly Advocate Momin Mujeeb, Mufti Ismail Qasmi, Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi, Minister Dada Bhuse, Dr. Shobha Tai Bachhav, and Maulana Umrain Rehmani were crucial in bringing these announcements closer to reality.

Uddhav Vs Shinde: Political Showdown Set For Dussehra Rallies In Maharashtra

Mumbai: On the occasion of Dussehra, five different rallies will be held in the state, including those of Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and Shiv Sena chief leader Eknath Shinde.
Heavy rains have caused huge damage to agriculture in many places in the state. Marathwada has been hit the hardest by the rains. Against this backdrop, Dussehra rallies of various leaders and parties will be held in the state tomorrow. Dussehra rallies have special importance in the state’s politics.
The Vijayadashami programme of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is also organised in Nagpur.
While rallies of both the Shiv Sena factions will be held in Mumbai. BJP leader and Minister of Environment Pankaja Munde will also hold her Dussehra rally at Bhagwan Gad in Ahilyanagar district. Pro Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil will also hold a rally at Narayangad tomorrow.
Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) party’s Dussehra rally 2025 will be held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Park, also known as Shivtirth in Dadar.
The party chief Uddhav Thackeray’s speech will be the main attraction, and party insiders said that he is likely to sound the bugle for the upcoming election to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and other local bodies in the state.
He is also expected to step up the attack against the MahaYuti government, especially for its handling of the present natural disaster caused by heavy rains and floods in Marathwada and other parts of the state.
The party took to X to announce Thursday’s rally, “Thoughts of Thackeray, Voice of Maharashtra, Dussehra Gathering 2025. The torch of Maharashtra’s welfare will blaze right here!”
On the other hand, Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena’s Dussehra rally will be held at NESCO Exhibition Centre, Goregaon instead of Azad Maidan. Shinde, in his post on X, said, “This year’s Dussehra rally on the farmers’ bund. The venue has changed, tradition is not.”
Shinde is expected to fire a fresh salvo against his former boss and Shiv Sena UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray while outlining the party’s plan to win the BMC elections as a key ally in the MahaYuti.
The Shiv Sena Dussehra rally has been a tradition for the past 58 years. In 2006, due to heavy rains on Dussehra day, the Shivaji Park ground was covered with mud and due to this, the rally was cancelled that same year, while in 2009, it was postponed due to the model code of conduct for the assembly elections.
In the two years 2020 and 2021, due to the Corona crisis in the state and the country, the Dussehra rally was held in a closed hall at the Swatantryaveer Savarkar Memorial. However, after the Shinde group split from Shiv Sena in 2022, separate Dussehra rallies of the Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray group and the Shiv Sena Shinde factions are being organised.
BJP leader Pankaja Munde’s Dussehra rally will be held at Bhagwan Gad. Her rally is important amid ongoing protests for pro-Maratha and OBC reservations.
The pro-Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil will address at Narayangad in Beed district. Jarange-Patil, who called off his protest in Mumbai last month, is pressing for the implementation of the government resolution issued early September with regard to providing Kunbi certificates to the Maratha community members.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is completing 100 years of its formation. In this context, the rally organised by the RSS on the day of Dussehra will have special significance. On the day of Dussehra, the Sangh performs Shastra Pujan. After this, there will be a speech by Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat.
