Delhi Police arrested two men in connection with alleged burglaries in two houses. The cases had been registered at Wazirabad police station in North Delhi and the cops recovered stolen gold and silver jewellery, cash amounting to Rs 42,670, house-breaking tools and other items, officials said on Friday.

The accused, identified as Sameer alias Sadam, 23, and Mujammil alias Monu, 26, were apprehended following an extensive investigation involving the analysis of hundreds of CCTV cameras, route tracking, local Intelligence and technical surveillance. The police also recovered a stolen scooter allegedly used by the accused to conduct reconnaissance and commit burglaries.

According to the police, the recovery of jewellery and other evidence has helped solve two house theft cases registered at Wazirabad police station.

On October 10, a case was registered at Wazirabad police station under Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following a complaint by Sanjiv Bhaumik, a resident of Wazirabad, Delhi. He reported that unidentified persons had stolen gold and silver jewellery and cash from his premises.

The police formed a dedicated team led by Sub-Inspector Naveen Sindhu, in-charge of Sangam Vihar Police Post. The team comprised Assistant Sub-Inspector Anil, Head Constables Deepak, Sandeep, Rohtash and Ankit Bainsla, Constables Ashutosh and Neeraj, and Constable Anupma.

The team worked under the supervision of Inspector Prashant Anand, Station House Officer (SHO) of Wazirabad police station, and the guidance of Shashikant Gaur, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Burari.

During the investigation, the police examined CCTV footage from cameras installed at the crime scene and nearby areas. The footage revealed that the two suspects had arrived at the location on a white scooter.

The police subsequently activated their local Intelligence network and began tracking the suspects’ movements by analysing footage from hundreds of CCTV cameras installed along the suspected routes.

After sustained efforts, the team traced the suspects’ movements to a house in Bhajanpura, Delhi. During local enquiries, one of the suspects was identified as Sameer alias Sadam, a resident of Gali No. 16 in Bhajanpura.

Further investigation revealed that the suspects had left Delhi for Shivpuri in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, on the morning of October 14.

Acting on technical inputs and Intelligence, the police team tracked down and apprehended Sameer from Shivpuri, Rishikesh, on October 15 with the assistance of technical surveillance.

During interrogation, Sameer disclosed his alleged involvement in the theft along with his associate, Mujammil alias Monu, a resident of Sethi Enterprise Wali Gali in Bhajanpura. Acting on his disclosure, the police arrested Mujammil from Bhajanpura on the same day.

Subsequently, the police recovered stolen gold and silver jewellery and cash amounting to Rs 42,670 from the respective residences of the accused.

During sustained interrogation, both accused allegedly admitted to their involvement in the theft. They also disclosed that they had committed another jewellery theft a few days earlier at a house in the Hardev Nagar area.

Shraddha Dubey reveals escape route, admits Amir role in Shiva Sharma murder case

Published

on

Model Shraddha Dubey, the prime accused in the murder of Shiva Sharma, has revealed details of her escape route and admitted that her boyfriend, Amir, had helped her evade the police, according to officials.

During hours of interrogation, Dubey disclosed several details but remained silent on certain aspects of the case. She was subsequently sent to jail. Investigators suspect that she kept her driver, Danish, with her to prevent him from revealing her secrets. She used him as a shield and a means of facilitating her escape.

In her statement to the police, Dubey admitted to travelling to Kanpur and Agra. On October 18, she reportedly visited a hotel in Kanpur to book a room. However, when the hotel staff asked her to produce identification, she left without completing the booking.

Dubey feared that if her photograph went viral following the murder case, the hotel staff might recognise her and inform the police. She subsequently booked a car and left for Nagpur without staying at the hotel.

She managed to evade the police for 11 days. Although she was fond of staying in large, luxurious hotels, she reportedly chose smaller hotels and lounges where identification documents were not required to avoid disclosing her identity.

Dubey also travelled to Rae Bareli but could not reach her home. Fearing that she might flee abroad, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) issued a lookout circular.

During interrogation, Dubey reportedly admitted that Amir had been accompanying her since Lucknow and had helped her enter Nepal through Bahraich. Following her statement, the police are likely to add Amir’s name to the First Information Report (FIR). Preparations are also underway to announce a reward for information leading to his arrest.

According to the DCP (Central), investigators are identifying people who allegedly helped Dubey and the other accused evade the police. Strict action will be taken against those found assisting them.

Investigators have also learnt that Dubey remained in contact with several people at the locations she visited. Police suspect that someone was continuously guiding her and helping her avoid arrest.

The DCP personally interrogated Dubey for hours. During questioning, she reportedly refrained from naming anyone and repeatedly complained of difficulty in breathing and speaking.

Meanwhile, Dubey was arrested in Nagpur by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Lucknow Police, officials said on Tuesday.

She had been on the run since October 9, when Sharma allegedly fell from the balcony of an apartment in Lucknow’s Hazratganj area. His death was initially treated as an accidental fall, but later became a suspected murder case after his family alleged that he had been assaulted and tortured before being thrown from the building.

A suspected network of women has emerged as a significant aspect of the investigation into the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car, with the Mumbai Crime Branch taking another woman into custody for questioning.

The development comes after the arrest of two women in connection with the case, while investigators continue to pursue suspects across multiple states.

According to officials, the woman was brought to the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch for questioning. However, investigators have not yet disclosed her alleged role in the firing incident or the nature of her links to the other accused. Earlier, two women, identified as Radha and Babita, were arrested in Delhi in connection with the case.

In a parallel development, the Anti-Extortion Cell arrested three more accused from Sonipat in Haryana on Thursday. Mumbai Police have been conducting raids in different states based on intelligence inputs as part of the ongoing investigation. Following searches and arrests in Kota, Rajasthan, and Delhi, the police operation has now extended to Haryana.

The three accused arrested in Sonipat have been identified as Sameer, Jatin and Ankit Khatak. The Anti-Extortion Cell brought them to Mumbai following their arrest. They are expected to be produced before a court as part of the legal proceedings.

Investigators suspect that Sameer played a coordinating role in the alleged conspiracy. According to the police, he acted as a link between Anil Pandit and the alleged shooter, Rehan. Sameer is also accused of arranging funds and weapons in connection with the incident.

Police sources said that shortly after the firing, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang allegedly claimed responsibility through a social media post. A man identified as Anil Pandit was reportedly posting messages on behalf of the gang, according to the information being examined by investigators.

The police are continuing to investigate the precise roles of Jatin and Ankit Khatak, along with the possible involvement of other individuals in the alleged conspiracy.

With the latest arrests, the total number of people arrested in the case has reportedly reached 10, including two women. The third woman remains in custody for questioning, and her alleged connection to the incident is yet to be established publicly.
