Tiger Shroff attack: Bihar family denies accused is their son

Published

on

The reported involvement of a man identified as Hrithik Kumar alias Roshan, a native of Bihar’s Begusarai district, in a shooting case linked to actor Tiger Shroff has triggered concern among his family members.

However, his identity as the person arrested in connection with the case remains unconfirmed, and his family has denied that the person shown in a circulated photograph is their son.

The Begusarai police have not issued an official statement confirming the alleged link.

Meanwhile, local police have begun inquiries to establish the man’s identity and verify his family background and address.

According to family members, Hrithik is the son of Ramu Mahto. His ancestral home is in Badalpura village under the Matihani police station area, while his family has been living in Dumri under the jurisdiction of Singhaul police station.

The family reportedly built a house on an eight-dhur plot in Ward No. 7 of Dumri around two years ago.

The house has two shutters and an iron-grille entrance.

Hrithik’s father runs a rented shop in the Pipra area, selling food items such as litti and samosas, along with cosmetics.

The family reportedly depends primarily on the shop for its livelihood and has limited financial resources.

According to his relatives, Hrithik previously worked as a cook with a catering service in Delhi before moving to Mumbai around three months ago.

His family, however, has limited information about his employment, activities or associates in Mumbai.

Hrithik is reportedly the elder of two brothers. Family members said they had been unable to contact him for approximately 10 days, as his mobile phone remained switched off.

The emergence of his name in media reports concerning the Mumbai shooting case has heightened their anxiety.

They are now attempting to establish his whereabouts and determine whether the person mentioned in the reports is actually their son.

His mother reportedly denied recognising him in the photograph circulating in connection with the case.

The family has also said it does not possess identification documents that could help establish his identity conclusively.

Police personnel visited the family’s residence in Dumri to gather information about Hrithik’s background and recent movements.

Ganesh Shankar, station house officer of Ratanpur police station, questioned family members about his employment in Delhi, his subsequent move to Mumbai and the period during which they had been unable to contact him.

According to information attributed to SP Manish, the absence of identification documents has complicated efforts to verify the reported connection.

However, police inquiries at the family’s residence do not establish that Hrithik has been arrested or that he is the individual involved in the Mumbai firing case.

The reported Begusarai connection has generated considerable local interest, but key questions remain unanswered: where Hrithik is currently staying and whether the individual identified in media reports is actually Hrithik Kumar alias Roshan.

Until the concerned authorities officially establish the arrested person’s identity, the reported connection should be treated with caution.

The family’s denial and the absence of official confirmation mean that no definitive conclusion can be drawn at this stage.

Further clarity is expected once the police verify the individual’s identity and establish the facts surrounding the alleged connection to the Mumbai shooting case.

Alert personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) apprehended a passenger at Delhi’s Jama Masjid Metro Station after he allegedly attempted to flee when a suspicious object was detected during his baggage screening.

According to the CISF, the incident came to light when the passenger’s baggage was being screened through an X-ray Baggage Inspection System (XBIS). During the examination, personnel noticed a dense and suspicious object on the scanner screen.

Sensing something unusual, the security personnel attempted to examine the matter further. However, the passenger allegedly tried to escape from the screening area, according to CISF.

Displaying promptness and alertness, CISF personnel immediately chased him and apprehended him near the station’s exit gate before he could leave the premises.

A subsequent examination of his belongings led to the recovery of an unidentified semi-solid substance concealed inside a stitched portion of his undergarment, the CISF said.

According to reports, the passenger reportedly claimed to be a non-resident Indian (NRI) residing in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Following the recovery, the CISF handed over the passenger, along with his belongings and the suspected substance, to the police for further investigation.

The nature of the semi-solid substance and the reason behind its concealment remain unclear. Police are investigating the matter to establish the identity of the substance and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The CISF’s swift intervention prevented the passenger from leaving the station without further examination.

The force said its personnel remain alert during the screening of passengers and their baggage to ensure compliance with security protocols and prevent any potential threat to metro commuters. Further action in the case will depend on the findings of the investigation, said the police officials.

Mumbai – The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is implementing an ‘E-Office’ system to make its administrative operations more dynamic, transparent, and efficient through the effective use of modern technology. This system will facilitate the digitalization of various administrative processes, including the management of official files, correspondence, and the processing of proposals. Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Bhide stated that the system will be rolled out across the entire corporation in a phased manner, encompassing approximately 14,000 users. This initiative is expected to reduce paper consumption and render the decision-making process smoother, faster, and more transparent.

On October 17, 2026, a monthly review meeting involving various BMC departments was held at the ‘Command and Control Centre’ in Worli. During the meeting, preparations for the implementation of the ‘E-Office’ system—including technical infrastructure, training requirements, and administrative planning—were reviewed. Ashwini Bhide addressed the meeting in this regard.

The meeting was attended by Additional Municipal Commissioner (Western Suburbs) Dr. Vipin Sharma, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Projects) Abhijit Bangar, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Eastern Suburbs) Dr. Avinash Dhakne, Joint Commissioner (Vigilance) Dr. M. Devender Singh, and Deputy Commissioner (Commissioner’s Office) Prashant Gaikwad. Additionally, all Joint Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, and heads of various departments were also present.

Digitalization of Administrative Affairs via ‘e-Office’
Providing information about the ‘e-Office’ system, Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Bhide explained that ‘e-Office’ is an office management system developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC). In accordance with a government resolution issued by the Government of Maharashtra, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has initiated the implementation of this system. The ‘e-Office’ system will enable the execution of administrative tasks digitally, thereby reducing reliance on paper-based files. Processes such as recording notes (note sheets), drafting documents, submitting proposals, and granting approvals can now be completed online, following a defined workflow. Consequently, this will not only accelerate the pace of work but also ensure transparency and accountability within administrative procedures.

Managing File Movement and Monitoring Pending Matters
The ‘e-Office’ system facilitates the creation and management of electronic files, as well as their routing to the relevant officers or departments. It allows for the systematic recording of inward and outward correspondence, the integration of scanned documents into the system, and the tracking of subsequent actions taken. Furthermore, the system enables the approval of notes, drafts, and orders through the use of digital signatures. Furthermore, it enables the monitoring of file movement, pending cases, decisions taken, and official correspondence. The ability to save and archive electronic records—along with the existence of a centralized repository for documents—makes information management highly organized and efficient. Phased Onboarding of 14,000 Users.

The implementation of the e-Office system across the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will take place in phases. This process will involve approximately 14,000 users, with specific roles and responsibilities defined at every level to ensure the effective use of the system. Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Bhide stated that a circular has been issued regarding the re-implementation of the e-Office system and its effective application in administrative affairs.

Focus on Training, Technical Facilities, and Digital Signatures
To ensure the effective implementation of the e-Office system, the Information Technology Department will conduct ‘Train-the-Trainer’ sessions for nodal officers. A central help desk will be established to resolve any technical issues that may arise during the use of the system. Additionally, a core team—led by the heads of the respective departments—will be formed to oversee the implementation process.
Emphasis is being placed on providing the necessary computing facilities and technical infrastructure, as well as ensuring that the relevant officers and staff receive appropriate training. Ms. Bhade stated that ‘Digital Signature Certificates’ (DSC) have been provided to the officers authorized to sign documents. She further explained that the effective implementation of the ‘e-Office’ system will promote digital operations within the BMC administration. This will expedite office tasks, reduce paper usage, and make the decision-making process more transparent and accountable.
