When Lata Mangeshkar met Bangabandhu in Dhaka

Legendary singer and Bharat Ratna awaredee Lata Mangeshkar, who passed away in Sunday in Mumbai, has a huge fan following in neighbouring Bangladesh as she, along with other Bollywood celebrities, had played an active role in the country’s Liberation War by mobilising funds.

On Sunday, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina extended her condolences on the demise of The Nightingale of India. She had once visited Dhaka on the invitation of her father, ‘Bangabandhu’ Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in 1972.

Mangeshkar was a part of an Indian cultural delegation that called on Rahman and his family in Dhaka in 1972. Actress Waheeda Rehman, a young Sanjay Dutt and his father and actor Sunil Dutt were also a part of the delegation.

“Namaskar. As soon as the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War ended, we went to Bangladesh and we did several events with (Bollywood actor) Sunil Dutt’s group. At the time, we used to commute all around by Army planes,” Lata Mangeshkar had once tweeted,in 2019, recalling her Bangladesh visit in 1972.

She also sang a song for a Bangladeshi movie which is regarded as her only song for any Bangladeshi movie.

The song “O Dadabhai”, composed by Salil Chowdhury for the film “Raktakto Bangla”, was released in December 1972.

The movie was directed by Mumtaz Ali, and starred Biswajit Chatterjee, Kabori, and Golam Mustafa.

Exclusive! Nora Fatehi begins shooting for ‘Kanchana 4’ in Hyderabad

Mumbai, Feb 12: Bollywood actress-dancer Nora Fatehi has kicked off the shooting for her highly anticipated project “Kanchana 4” in Hyderabad.

According to sources, the actress has already begun filming for the upcoming movie. An insider close to the project revealed to the media, “Nora has started shooting for Kanchana 4. She is excited to be part of the film and is giving her best to the role.”

The ‘Dilbar’ girl, known for her dance performances, is all set to surprise audiences with her latest role in “Kanchana 4.” Venturing into the world of comedy, Nora will step into the comic avatar for the forthcoming movie.

“Kanchana 4” will mark the fifth installment in the popular horror-comedy series created and directed by Raghava. Known for his iconic role in the franchise, Raghava also stars in the lead across all the films. The series began with “Muni” in 2007, followed by “Muni 2: Kanchana” in 2011. “Kanchana 2” and “Kanchana 3” were released in 2015 and 2019, respectively, building the franchise’s massive fanbase over the years.

Reportedly, Pooja Hegde will be joining Nora and Raghava Lawrence’s horror-comedy franchise. Back in June 2024, rumors began circulating that actress Mrunal Thakur would be joining “Kanchana 4.” However, Lawrence swiftly dismissed these speculations on social media.

He took to his platform to clarify, stating, “Hi friends and fans, All the information regarding Kanchana 4 and casting that are circulating around social media are just rumors. Official announcement will be made through Ragavendra Production. Coming soon!”

Meanwhile, Nora Fatehi was last seen in “Madgaon Express,” where she showcased her knack for comedy. Directed by actor Kunal Khemu, the dark comedy film was produced by Excel Entertainment and also featured actors Divyenndu, Pratik Gandhi, Avinash Tiwary, Upendra Limaye, and Chhaya Kadam.

In the film, released on 22 March 2024, Fatehi played the role of Tehreen “Tasha.”

‘Alag Level Ka Craze Hoga Bhai’, After Sanam Teri Kasam, Salman Khan’s Fans Demand Tere Naam Re-Release

One thing that Sanam Teri Kasam re-release success has proved it that the audience is craving to watch good romantic films, and clearly they are not getting it now, so that’s why a re-release is getting such a good response. The Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane starrer in four days has collected Rs. 18.50 crore which is excellent. When the film had originally released in 2016, its lifetime collection was Rs. 11.10 crore, and it was a box office dud.

Now, with Sanam Teri Kasam re-release getting such a great response, fans of Salman Khan are demanding a re-release of Tere Naam. The 2003 also starred Bhumika Chawla in the lead role, and while it was an average grosser at the box office, the film has received a cult status.

A fan of Salman Khan posted on X, “#TereNaam a film if re-releases then surely gonna create more wonders than #SanamTeriKasam #SalmanKhan poured his heart & soul into ‘Radhe’ bringing to life a character that’s both traumatized & immortalized a generation. Jeevan Apna Sara Sanam.”

Another fan wrote, “If this film RE-RELEASE … 50-100Cr WW movie. #Trending #Terenaam #SalmanaKhan.” One more fan posted on X, “Ek baar Tere Naam Re-release kar ke Dekho. Alag level ka craze hoga bhai. Theatre will be filled and trend will be back again #SalmanKhan #TereNaam.”

Tere Naam was directed by Satish Kaushik, and Salman gave one of the best performances of his career in the movie. The movie was reportedly made on a budget of Rs. 10 crore, and it had collected Rs. 14.53 crore nett at the domestic box office. The worldwide gross collection Tere Naam was Rs. 22.23 crore. So, it was a hit, but an averag grosser.

During an informal meet with the media at the time of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ka Jaan, Salman had spoken about Satish Kaushik’s demise, and stated that there was a plan to make Tere Naam 2.

Well, so let’s see if Salman will agree to his fans’ demand and re-release Tere Naam or not.
