Veteran Marathi Actor Vijay Kadam Dies After Battle With Cancer At 67

Veteran Marathi actor Vijay Kadam passed away after battling cancer on Saturday (August 10). He was 67. The actor breathed his last at his home. His last rites will reportedly take place in Mumbai.

Kadam courageously fought cancer for the past year and a half, however, after initially overcoming the illness, his health condition worsened as the cancer relapsed. Reportedly, he was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Andheri, Mumbai.

Actor Ajinkya Deo informed about Kadam’s death on social media. Taking to his X account, Deo wrote, “Sad to inform the demise of a very fine actor a dear friend Vijay Kadam May his soul rest in peace.”

Kadam was a well-known Marathi actor celebrated for his contributions to the Marathi film and television industry. He had a prolific career spanning several decades and was admired for his versatile acting skills and his ability to portray a wide range of characters, from comedic to serious roles.

He also gained popularity for his work in various Marathi stage productions.

Some of his notable projects include Aanandi Aanand (1987), Tere Mere Sapne (1996), Dekhni Bayko Namyachi (2001), Revati (2005), Topi Ghala Re (2010), Bluffmaster (2012), Bhet Tuji Maji (2013) and Monkey Baat (2018).

Apart from films, Kadam has also acted in several Marathi TV series’. He starred in plays like Tur Tur, Pappa Sanga Kunache, Vichha Majhi Puri Kara and Sahi De Sahi.

Akshay Kumar Reunites With Priyadarshan After 14 Years For Horror-Comedy Bhooth Bangla; First Look Out

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who is celebrating his 57th birthday on Monday (September 9), announced his upcoming film Bhooth Bangla with filmmaker Priyadarshan. The actor-director has frequently worked together in the past and for this film, they have teamed up after 14 years.

Bhooth Bangla is a horror-comedy which will be produced by Ektaa Kapoor. The film is expected to go on floors soon and will hit the big screens in 2025.

Akshay took to his official social media accounts to share the first look motion poster of the film. In the video, Akshay’s character is seen holding a bowl of milk. A black cat is seen sitting on his shoulder.

Along with the motion poster, the actor wrote, “Thank you for your love on my birthday, year after year! Celebrating this year with the first look of ‘Bhooth Bangla’! I’m beyond excited to join forces with Priyadarshan again after 14 years.”

“This dream collaboration has been a long time coming… can’t wait to share this incredible journey with you all. Stay tuned for the magic,” he added.

Sharing the same motion poster, Priyadarshan wrote on X, “After 14 years, I’m reuniting with my old friend @akshaykumar for a horror-comedy film, marking my first collaboration with @EktaaRKapoor. Get ready for something truly special! #BhoothBangla.”

Their collaboration started with Hera Pheri in 2000, a film that quickly became a cult classic. The movie’s quirky plot and memorable dialogues, combined with Akshay’s comic timing, made it an instant hit.

Priyadarshan and Akshay’s collaboration continued with Bhool Bhulaiyaa, which is another standout film from their partnership.

They have also worked together in films like Khatta Meetha, De Dana Dan, Bhagam Bhag and Garam Masala.

Good news is just around the corner as Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are expecting their baby to arrive soon. On September 7, 2024, the actress was spotted arriving at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai for the delivery.

The Om Shanti Om actress was seen in her car in Mumbai on the first day of Ganesh Chaturthi and later, Ranveer’s mother, Anju Bhavnani, and his sister, Ritika Bhavnani, were also seen arriving at the hospital.

However, is still unclear whether Deepika and Ranveer are at the hospital for their baby’s delivery or a routine checkup.

Telly couple Smriti Khanna and Gautam Gupta have become parents for the second time. The lovely couple announced the news on Friday that they have welcomed a baby girl. Taking to social media, the couple shared a joint post featuring their elder daughter holding the newborn.

They shared an adorable picture on Instagram and wrote, “Anayka’s wish for a little sister, her gudiya, has come true, and our family is now complete.” Even shared the date of birth of their second daughter, which is ‘05.09.24.’

As soon as they shared the post on social media, fans and members of the film industry shared their love and blessings in the comment section.

Shilpa Shetty commented, “Oh my God! Congratulations to you and the family, @smriti_khanna.”

Dia Mirza wrote, “Oh my goodness Congratulations, my sweetheart! So much love to you and the family.”

In April, Smriti announced her second pregnancy. While making the announcement on social media, she wrote, “After a journey filled with more challenges than we ever expected, we are overflowing with emotion as we make this beautiful announcement: Our family is growing. Smriti and Gautam met each other on the sets of Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi. Their onscreen romance transformed into real-life romance. In 2017, they tied the knot. They embraced parenthood for the first time in 2020.
