Tamil Nadu police will get training to inculcate people-friendly behaviour: Stalin

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has said that the state government will provide comprehensive training to its police to inculcate public-friendly behaviour. He was addressing the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly after tabling a police note from the Home, Prohibition and Excise Department on Monday. He said that this comprehensive training has been designed in association with the Anna Administrative Staff College, Chennai.

Stalin said that his government is firm on ensuring that the state police behave with a human touch with the public. The statement of the Chief Minister comes after allegations over two custodial deaths on April 19 and 26 in Chennai and Tiruvannamalai.

The Chief Minister said that the police has been a frontline warrior and had given its best while safeguarding the public during Covid-19 times, adding that the state government has initiated effective measures to ensure that the police department considers commoners as friends and treats them with respect and courtesy.

In the course of discussion in the House, Stalin stated that the contribution of the police in providing effective governance has been essential to rapid industrial growth, economic development, and the overall prosperity of Tamil Nadu.

He added that since his government came to power in May 2021, there has not been any major law and order problem in the state nor any instance of communal, caste, or religious disturbance, indicating that the police was effective in maintaining order.

Mumbai: Crime Branch Unit 10 has claimed to have arrested the absconding accused involved in the murder from Surat Gujarat. According to the details, on May 24, the body of a 55-year-old man named Yusuf was found in Powai Tanga village, Saki Vihar. Someone had stabbed him to death with a sharp weapon and stabbed him on the chest. The police registered a murder case in this matter and started investigation. Then they examined about 100 CCTV footage in this matter and it was found that the accused had fled after the murder in Gujarat. After that, the police arrested the accused from here and handed him over to Powai police for further action. The accused, Deepak alias Deepa Nathu Prasad Verma, 26, had an argument with Yusuf over something a week ago, which angered him and he killed Yusuf and fled. The police have taken action in this matter and claimed to have arrested the accused and solved the case. This action was taken by DCP Detection Nonath Dhole on the instructions of Mumbai Police Commissioner Devin Bharti. .

Mumbai ANC Action Drug trafficker Haroon sent to Yeru Da Jail for one year

Mumbai: Anti-Narcotics Cell ANC has sent drug smuggler Haroon Farooq Khan (41) to Pune Yerwada Jail for one year. A case has been registered against him under the NDPS Act. The accused was found involved in drug trafficking even after being released on bail, so while taking action against him, ANC proposed action against him under the PIT NDPS Act, 1988 and after approval from the Home Ministry, he has been sent to Yerwada Jail for one year. Haroon is active in drug trafficking. There are 8 NDPS cases registered against him in different police stations.

Large-scale MD drugs racket busted in Agripara high-profile residence, accused investigated, alleged Bangladeshi also suspected, MD worth Rs 51 crore seized

Mumbai: The Kandivali ANC unit led by Mumbai Anti-Narcotics Cell Shashi Kant Jagdale has busted a major drug manufacturing racket. The accused were allegedly manufacturing MD drugs in a room of a high-profile residential building in Agripara. During the operation, the police seized 14 kg of MD and liquid MD worth around Rs 51 crore. The police have also recovered a pistol and 19 live cartridges from the accused. A total of three people have been arrested in this case, and further investigation is underway. One of these accused belongs to West Bengal. These accused used to make MD in Mumbai city. A pistol has also been recovered from one of the accused. Investigation is also underway to find out where he got this pistol from. Along with this, his documents are also being checked and it is also being ascertained whether this alleged Bangladeshi is not. DCP Nunath Dhole of Mumbai Anti-Narcotics Cell said that the police is investigating this matter from every angle, while the police has got a big success in which MD and liquid MD worth Rs 51 crore have been recovered. Investigation is also underway to find out how many people are involved in this network. The police is further investigating. This operation has been carried out by DCP Nunath Dhole of ANC on the instructions of Mumbai Police Commissioner Devin Bharti. The arrested accused have been identified as Muhammad Shoaib Shaukat Ali Mansoori, 31, of Yasmin Tower, Sufyan Saleem Mansoori, 28, and Reena Akhtar, daughter of Ashraf Al-Sikdar, 22.
