‘Speak Marathi Or Get Out’: Fierce Clash Erupts Between Women In Mumbai Local Train Over Language Row
Mumbai: A heated argument erupted aboard a Mumbai local train over the Marathi language. In a viral video, several women are seen engaged in a verbal clash in the ladies’ compartment, where a disagreement over a seat quickly escalated into a language dispute.
According to a video that has since gone viral, the confrontation started when one woman criticised another passenger for not speaking in Marathi. What began as a simple disagreement escalated into a larger argument, with several women joining in.
In the viral video that surfaced online, it is seen that the woman is forcing the commuters to speak in the Marathi language. One woman in the video is heard saying, “This is our Maharashtra. Speak in Marathi or get out.”
In a separate news story from Mumbai, a shopkeeper in Mumbai’s Vikhroli area was allegedly assaulted and paraded through the market by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers after he posted a controversial WhatsApp status perceived as disrespectful towards the Marathi language and Maharashtra on July 16.
A video of the incident has since gone viral. The shopkeeper, reportedly a native of Rajasthan, has now returned to his village. Vikhroli police have launched an investigation into the matter.
The shopkeeper, identified as Prem Singh Devda, had been running Lucky Medical Shop in Tagore Nagar Market, Vikhroli. On Wednesday, he allegedly posted a WhatsApp status containing derogatory comments against the Marathi language and the state. The post reportedly came to the notice of Santosh Desai, a local MNS leader.
Following this, another MNS leader, Vishwajit Dholam, along with a group of party workers, confronted Devda around 3 PM. They allegedly assaulted him, forced him to apologise publicly outside his shop, and then paraded him around the market area.
Devda was later taken to the Vikhroli Police Station, where he issued a formal apology before being handed over to the authorities. The video of the incident has sparked widespread public reaction on social media platforms.

Rising operational costs, payment delays sink 1.2 lakh MSMEs: Shiv Sena(UBT) in ‘Saamana’

Mumbai, July 29: The Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) on Wednesday, citing the Central government’s data presented in the Lok Sabha, said that in the last three years more than 1.25 lakh industries and factories in the country have shut down. Hundreds of thousands of young people have lost their jobs.
The Thackeray camp, in an editorial in the party’s mouthpiece, ‘Saamana’, claimed that this has completely exposed and stripped bare the government’s claims of bringing in thousands of crores in foreign investment and generating lakhs of jobs by establishing thousands of new industries.
“A sob story of industries — closing the old and starting the new — has been unfolding in the country for the last 12 years. Under a regime that fills the minds of youth with religious fanaticism instead of placing jobs in their hands, what else could possibly happen?” it asked.
The editorial said that, as per government data, a total of 1,21,805 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) units closed operations between 2024 and 2026. The MSME sector is widely regarded as the backbone of the Indian economy, serving as the second-largest employer after agriculture and contributing significantly to national exports. Despite its critical role, the rate of unit closures has seen a continuous upward trajectory over the past decade.
The shutdown of MSME units has hit several industrial states severely. Maharashtra recorded the highest number of closures, with 28,764 units shutting down. Tamil Nadu stood second with 14,176 unit closures. Gujarat reported 11,150 closed units. Rajasthan saw 9,881 MSME units permanently cease operations. These figures contradict the official claims regarding massive foreign investment inflows and large-scale job creation through new industrial ventures, noted the editorial.
According to the editorial, over the past 10 years, the government made available over Rs 35 lakh crore in loans to support startups and operations in the micro, small, and medium enterprise sector. However, business owners have struggled against mounting market challenges, rising operational costs, and persistent procedural bottlenecks. “Key factors contributing to early-stage business failure include inadequate or delayed access to bank credit at reasonable interest rates, prolonged payment delays from large corporations for supplied goods and bureaucratic delays in releasing payments owed by government departments,” remarked the Thackeray camp.
While state leaders and central ministers frequently engage in global outreach, including events like the World Economic Forum in Davos, to attract new industrial setups, critics point out a lack of concrete measures to revive ailing existing units, argued the editorial.
Citing the Maharashtra case, the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena said that while the state registered over 75 lakh new enterprises over the last three years, it simultaneously lost more than 28,000 existing MSME units. “The absence of targeted rehabilitation programmes for sick industrial units continues to lead to rising Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) for banks and sudden job losses for young workers across the country,” it commented.
The editorial claimed that no measures are being taken at the government level to support them, rebuild them, or revive these sick industries. Due to this “fend for yourself” policy, not only are small industries sinking, but bank loans are defaulting, and the livelihoods of thousands of young people working there are suddenly snatched away.

Pune Police bust illegal injection racket linked to bodybuilding, substance abuse; 5 arrested

Pune, July 29: Pune Police have exposed an alleged illegal network that was endangering the lives of young people in the name of fitness and bodybuilding. Acting on specific information, police arrested five individuals and seized 50 vials of Mephentermine Sulphate Injection IP (MEPHIVAN), allegedly being used for bodybuilding and intoxication purposes.
According to police, the operation was conducted at around 11:20 p.m. on July 24 on a public road near Anand Darbar on Katraj-Dattanagar Road. During the investigation, it was found that the accused were allegedly selling the injections illegally without possessing a valid drug licence or the required medical and pharmaceutical qualifications.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Atharva Indrajit Shinde (24), Avinash Shiva Balungi (22), Pradeep Jitendra Humbre (26), Piyush Ganesh Bharam (26), and Laxman Parmeshwar Mane (36).
Police officials stated that Mephentermine Sulphate Injection is a prescription medicine that should only be administered under the advice and supervision of a qualified medical practitioner. The use of such injections without proper medical consultation can result in serious health complications. Investigators alleged that the accused were preparing to sell the injections illegally to individuals seeking enhanced physical performance, muscle growth, or intoxication.
A case has been registered against the accused under the relevant provisions of the law. Authorities are now investigating the source of the injections, the possibility of a larger supply chain operating behind the racket, and the identities of the intended buyers.
Police officials said strict action would continue against individuals involved in the illegal sale and distribution of restricted or controlled drugs, particularly those exploiting the growing fitness and bodybuilding culture among the youth.
In bodybuilding, injections typically refer to the use of performance-enhancing substances, like anabolic steroids, human growth hormone (HGH), peptides, or site-enhancement oils to speed up muscle growth or change body shape. These methods carry severe medical risks and are often illegal or banned in competitive sports.
Some athletes, bodybuilders and others misuse these drugs in an attempt to enhance performance and/or improve their physical appearance.
Misuse of anabolic steroids can cause a variety of side effects ranging from mild to harmful or even life-threatening. Most side effects are reversible if you stop taking the drugs, but others may be permanent.
Nonprescription doses are often 10 to 100 times higher than the doses healthcare providers prescribe to treat medical conditions. This is why the side effects are usually more severe than the side effects of prescribed anabolic steroid use.
Potential complications include high blood pressure, blood clots, heart-related ailments such as heart attacks, stroke, and liver damage. Non-prescription doses are often significantly higher than medically recommended levels, increasing the likelihood of serious and life-threatening health consequences.

Youth are not with you, you are just doing politics, Shrikant Shinde attacks the opposition

During the debate in the Lok Sabha on the amendment bill to prevent irregularities in public examinations, Shiv Sena MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde lashed out at the opposition. He said that while the Modi government is taking decisive steps to secure the future of the youth, the opposition is merely playing politics over the students’ woes. Dr. Shinde remarked that the anger expressed by the youth should not be seen as a mere protest but as the beginning of a systemic change. No single exam determines the entire life of a student. If a student does not succeed in an exam, he should not despair but focus on the future of his life, his family and the country.
Urging the youth to draw inspiration from the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, he said that Shivaji Maharaj laid the foundation of Hindu Swarajya by conquering his first fort at the age of just sixteen. Today’s youth also have the power to change the nation. Only the right direction and a strong system are needed. Dr. Shinde said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has not only condemned the incidents of paper leaks but has also taken concrete steps to clean up the entire system. Citing the moral accountability of the government, he pointed out that Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from his post, and now, through this amendment bill, arrangements are being made for fast-track courts so that the accused in the paper leak case are punished at the earliest. He stressed that the government’s aim is not just to imprison the culprits but to save a precious year of millions of students. Stressing the need for educational reforms, Dr. Shinde said that the result of years of hard work and the fulfillment of dreams of families should not depend on a single three-hour exam. Students should get the opportunity to appear for the exam several times a year. The government should also take steps towards developing a question bank system, reducing the increasing mental pressure on students and implementing effective regulations for the coaching industry. He said that the Mahayoti government in Maharashtra has taken a historic initiative to provide free education to the economically weaker sections and girls belonging to EC-BC categories. This government is not just making laws but is committed to comprehensive reforms in the education system. Attacking the opposition hard, Dr. Shrikant Shinde remarked that those who are now claiming to champion the youth failed to go to Jantar Mantar during the 37-day-long student protest. They feared the emergence of a new political alternative. Now, seeing their political platform slipping, they have started doing politics in the name of the youth. He challenged the opposition to first clarify whether the youth are really with them. Inciting the emotions of the students, abusing the government, and spreading misinformation does not offer any solution to the problem. In a democracy, the government interacted with the students, listened to their concerns, and even withdrew the cases registered against them in several instances. This shows the strength of democracy and the sensitivity of the Modi government. Dr. Shinde stressed that this amendment bill is not just a law to stop paper leaks but is a firm commitment to secure the future of millions of youth, ensure transparency in the examination system and bring about educational reforms. The opposition should put aside politics and stand in support of the youth of the country and their future. During the parliamentary debate on the Examination Reforms Bill, Shiv Sena MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde said that comprehensive reforms are needed in the examination system of the country. He pointed out that conducting important examinations like NEET only once a year puts unnecessary pressure on lakhs of students. Dr. Shinde noted that many students miss the examination due to illness, family reasons or other circumstances, with students from rural areas facing more difficulties in particular. In such a situation, they lose an entire year. He suggested that serious consideration should be given to conducting the NEET examination more than once a year. In many countries, such examinations are held twice a year. Implementing a similar system in India will give students a second chance and reduce mental stress. Dr. Shinde said that the systems governing not only NEET but also other competitive exams should be updated with the changing times to ensure fair and better opportunities for students.
