Slow Govt Servers Affect Ladki Bahin Yojana, Beneficiaries Upset

The Maharashtra government’s ambitious ‘Majhi Ladki Bahin’ scheme has is receiving a tremendous response. Under this scheme, women with an annual family income of less than Rs 2.5 lakh get monthly aid of Rs 1,500. Several women in the state have received Rs 3,000 for two months directly in their bank accounts recently.
However, many women are still waiting for their applications to be uploaded, while others wait for their applications to be approved by the government.
For the ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme, women need to upload the required documents online on the website provided by the state government. However, as many women are unable to operate computers or mobile phones to upload the documents, the government helps then to do so. But, many complain that the government website is down or several web page loads slowly, delaying submission of documents.
Kalpana Mate, a resident of Mankhurd, Mumbai who works in an organised sector, is the only earning person in the family of five. “I was relieved when I learnt that the government will deposit Rs 1,500 monthly. I had decided to use that money to buy school books for my children. But the Anganwadi office has not uploaded my documents for two months.”
Kalpana also says that she visited the local Anganwadi office several times for follow-up, but was turned back by the official saying the government website was down. “My friends whose children could help them upload documents and also received Rs 3,000 in the first instalment. But there are many like me whose forms are not uploaded,” Kalpana says who works as a house help to run her family.
local Anganwadi worker Ashwini Dhage said accepted that she has many forms pending to be uploaded for ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme. “I have informed my seniors about the website running slow. I have successfully uploaded over 40 forms, of which 10 women received money in the first instalment. There are some 15 women whose forms were not accepted.”
There are also issues like Aadhar card not being linked to bank accounts and temporary address is different from the address on the Aadhar card.
“There are many like me who cannot use mobile phones. My daughter helped me but could not upload the documents. We are dependent on Anganwadi workers to help us get government money,” said Kalpana.
Meanwhile, the chief minister of Maharashtra Ekanth Shinde recently said that his government is focusing on elevating the status of women across the state is reflected in the Ladki Bahin Yojana—a flagship program that offers financial support to women, enabling them to achieve economic independence and security.

Maharashtra Marathi Hindi Controversy: Strict action will be taken against those who take law into their hands: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has made it clear on the Hindi-Marathi language dispute that linguistic discrimination and violence cannot be tolerated. If anyone instigates violence in the name of Marathi language or takes the law into his own hands, strict action will be taken against him because it is the government’s responsibility to maintain law and order. He said that in the Mira Road Hindi Marathi violence case, the police have registered a case and taken action.
A committee has been formed in the matter of Marathi and Hindi language. Whatever is better for the students on its recommendation, the government will implement it. No decision has been taken under anyone’s pressure. He said that the recommendation for Hindi language was made during the Maha Vikas Aghadi rule itself, but now these same people are opposing it. The public knows everything.
He said that in this election, BJP has got 51 percent Marathi votes. Violence and discrimination in the name of language cannot be tolerated. Marathi is a source of pride for us, but we do not oppose Hindi. What will happen if a Marathi businessman in another state is asked to speak his language? In Assam, he was asked to speak Assamese. He said that strict action will be taken against those who break the law.

Opposition protests against the government for declaring Wari as urban Naxal

Mumbai: On the fourth day in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, the opposition created a ruckus over declaring Wari as urban Naxal and has made serious allegations against the government of insulting Wari. On the fourth day of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, the opposition has made several serious allegations against the ministers of the government while protesting on the steps of the Vidhan Bhavan. The ministers included in the cabinet of the state government are misusing their powers and occupying government lands in the state.
Just as the ruling front is trying to defame the holy pilgrimage of Hinduism, Wari, by calling Vitthurai and Warkars urban Naxalites and urban Maoists, in the same way it is insulting Wari Palkhi. This is reprehensible. Members of the Maha Vikas Aghadi staged a strong protest on the steps of the Vidhan Bhavan against the ruling front and accused the government of insulting Wari. In this demonstration, the members also raised slogans cursing the government and said that due to the scamster government, farmers are dying of hunger and the ministers are calling the laborers urban Naxalites. Shiv Sena leader of opposition Ambadas Danve, Vijay Varditwar, Sachin Ahir, Jitendra Ahawat etc. participated in this protest.
