Actress Rhea Chakraborty has been summoned in connection with the alleged HIBOX app scam case by the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) Unit of the Delhi Police Special Cell to join the investigation on Wednesday (October 9).

As a part of the investigation, the summons were issued on Thursday (October 3). The scam is regarding the HIBOX mobile application, which promised exorbitant daily returns to people who invested in it. There have been more than 500 complaints and many social media influencers and YouTubers allegedly promoting the app on their social media.

“The HIBOX app was at the centre of a carefully planned scam,” stated the Deputy Commissioner of Police (IFSO Special Cell), Hemant Tiwari. In the case, police have arrested Sivaram, the alleged mastermind behind the scam. They have also seized Rs 18 crore from four different bank accounts linked to him.

Rhea’s arrest comes a day after YouTuber Elvish Yadav and comedian Bharti Singh were summoned by the Delhi Police. The fraud scam involved a fraud of Rs 500 crore in connection with the application.

What Is Hibox App Scam Case?

Launched in February 2024, HIBOX stated high returns of 1 to 5 per cent for the people investing in it from February to June. Reportedly, 30,000 people invested in HIBOX. However, there have been no payments made since July and were reasoned technical issues, legal problems, and GST concerns.

After receiving complaints from 29 victims about the application on August August 16, the police began their investigation. On August 20, an FIR was registered under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, as well as provisions of the Information Technology Act. Many complaints were filed from the Cyber Northeast district, outer districts, Shahdara, and the NCRP portal.

While there was a lot of debate on Arbaz’s relationship status both inside and outside the Bigg Boss house, the Bigg Boss Marathi fame recently confirmed that he is not committed anymore and that he would want to take his relationship with Nikki ahead after she comes out of the show. Arbaz states that if Nikki agrees to it, he would want to give their relationship a chance. He also rubbished his engagement rumours and said that he is not engaged.

Earlier, when Nikki’s mother went inside the show, she confronted the actress on her bond with Arbaz and told her that he is engaged. This left Nikki enraged and she was also seen throwing things around in a fit of rage.

For the uninformed, Nikki is the first contestant to reach the finale of Bigg Boss Marathi season 5.

On Friday, producer Sajid Nadiadwala took to Instagram and shared a candid photoshoot of Salman Khan. In the image, Salman can be seen flaunting his biceps.

However, it’s Sajid’s caption that caught everyone’s attention.

“It was a great Kick 2 photo shoot Sikandar.!!! From Grand Sajid Nadiadwala (sic),” he wrote, leaving fans excited.

Within no time, fans chimed in the comment section and expressed their excitement about ‘Kick 2’. “Super excited…can’t wait for Kick 2,” a social media user wrote. “Best news…all the best bhaijaan,” another user wrote.

Directed by Sajid Nadiadwala, ‘Kick’ was released in 2014. It also starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Randeep Hooda and Jacqueliene Fernandez. Meanwhile, Salman is busy shooting for ‘Sikandar’. A.R. Murugadoss is directing the film.

It is set to release next Eid. Recently, Salman shared a picture from the sets of the ‘Sikandar’.

In May 2024, the production house officially announced the news on its social media handles that Rashmika Mandanna is part of the film.

“Welcoming the fabulous @rashmika_mandanna to star opposite @beingsalmankhan in #Sikandar! Can’t wait for their on-screen magic to unfold on EID 2025!,” the post read.

Rashmika also took to her Instagram Stories to post, “You guys for a long time have been asking me for the next update, and here it is. Surprise!! I’m truly grateful and honoured to be a part of Sikandar.” In the coming days, he will also be seen hosting the 18th of ‘Bigg Boss’.
