'MVA Is Trying To Discredit MahaYuti’s Welfare Schemes,' Claims BJP Leader Raosaheb Danve

Mumbai: Former union minister and BJP leader Raosaheb Danve on Saturday reiterated that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is trying to discredit the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana and appealed to the eligible women to submit the registration forms directly through the government machinery.

Statement Of BJP Leader Raosaheb Danve

“The MahaYuti government has taken many public welfare decisions during the monsoon session including Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, free electricity up to 7.5 horsepower for agricultural pumps, compensation for the loss of farmers among others,” Danve said.

He said that, however, MVA leaders are criticising these schemes and they are involved in discrediting them. He further alleged that MVA was taking credit for these schemes by displaying posters and banners in its constituencies.

“So be aware of MVA’s duplicitous role and apply for Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana through the government system itself and not hand it over to MVA activists,” he urged the women.

Danve, who lost to Congress nominee Kailas Kale from Jalna constituency, expressed confidence that BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP will fight together as MahaYuti (grand alliance) in the upcoming state Assembly election and win. He said that the state BJP’s core committee met on July 18 and 19 in Mumbai and held a review of all 288 assembly seats, adding that it was decided that MahaYuti together will contest the upcoming assembly poll.

Raosaheb Danve Takes A Swipe At MVA

He took a swipe at MVA saying that its three constituents Shiv Sena UBT, NCP SP and Congress are naming their respective leaders as the future Chief Minister.

“It seems that everyone is in a hurry to become the Chief Minister and the public is already seeing the cracks in the alliance. The division in the MVA was not new as it was visible following the controversy over the Sangli Lok Sabha seat. How can the voters trust the MVA when all is not well there?” he asked.

He informed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari will address the party’s convention slated for Sunday to be attended by 5,300 leaders and workers.

“These delegates will reach out to the voters taking up MahaYuti’s welfare schemes seeking votes for its reelection,” he said.

Mumbai: The upcoming rail terminus at Jogeshwari, located between Ram Mandir and Jogeshwari stations on the eastern side, is expected to be operational within the next six months. The facility, built on land that previously housed a railway-operated cement warehouse, is projected to remarkably reduce congestion at existing terminuses in Dadar, Bandra and Mumbai Central by increasing train services.

Western Railway (WR) officials confirmed that the Rs 69 crore project, under construction for nearly two years, is progressing steadily. Contractors have been directed to expedite the work, with a target of completing 70-75% of the project by the end of March.

Several key milestones have already been achieved, including the completion of a labour shed. Work on essential components such as the cover shed, service building, platform and station building is ongoing, while track-laying has commenced.

“The construction at Jogeshwari Terminus is moving at a good pace. The island platforms are nearly complete, and we expect the majority of civil work to be finished by summer. The progress of island platforms and associated infrastructure is visible on-site,” said a senior Western Railway official.

An island platform, which allows trains to arrive on tracks on either side, is an efficient space-saving design. The terminus at Jogeshwari will feature a 600-meter-long and 12-meter-wide island platform, capable of handling 24-coach trains. Additionally, the facility will include two berthing lines and a Power Run Down (PRD) line to facilitate shunting operations. A coach watering facility will also be available.

With Mumbai’s growing commuter base, the Jogeshwari Terminus is expected to provide much-needed relief, streamlining operations and improving connectivity for long-distance travellers.

Mumbai: The Mumbai police are conducting a preliminary inquiry into digital content creators Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina, who host India’s Got Latent. On Tuesday, the police sent a summons to both of them. A police team arrived at Allahbadia’s residence, located near Seven Bungalows, Andheri West, at Bay View Building, and will be questioning him and Raina there. The police are investigating a controversial video clip. In India’s Got Latent, Allahbadia made a comment that created outrage and was alleged to be vulgar and obscene. The comment faced criticism from various platforms, including political, social, legal, and women’s rights organisations.

Earlier today, a team of Mumbai Police reached Ranveer Allahbadia’s house in the city’s Versova area.

According to reports, the Parliamentary IT Panel is mulling over whether to summon Allahbadia following Shiv Sena UBT Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi’s statement on Monday, in which she stated that she would raise the issue before the Panel.

After the backlash, Ranveer issued an apology and called it a ‘lapse in judgment.’ He said, “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate; it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here. Many of you asked if this is how I wish to use my platform and obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I am not going to give any context or justification or reasoning behind whatever happened. I am just here to apologise.”
