Mumbai News: Massive Fire Engulfs Multi-Floor Building In SoBo’s Zaveri Bazar; Several Trapped Persons Rescued Safely (WATCH)

A Level III fire broke out in a multi-floor building located near the iconic Mumbadevi Temple in Zaveri Bazar, Kalbadevi, in the early hours of June 9. The incident was reported by the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) at 1.38 am. Prompt action was taken by the fire department, resulting in the safe evacuation of approximately 50-60 trapped individuals.

The fire has severely affected the ground, first, second, third, fourth, and fifth floors of the building. Over 12 fire tenders were involved in the firefighting operations.

Officials said that the fire was extinguished by 7.55 am. However, it is yet to be ascertained as to what caused the blaze.

Injuries Reported

One person sustained injuries said the officials. Parag Chakankar (40) had suffered minor burn in right hand and it was treated and discharged by medical team on site.

Details of the Incident

Upon arrival at the building located in Kalbadevi’s China Bazaar, the MFB declared the blaze a Level III fire around 3.25 am highlighting the severity of the situation. The fire was initially contained within the lower floors of the building but quickly spread to the upper six floors.

The intense heat and flames caused a part of the ceiling on the first and second floors, as well as a portion of the staircase, to collapse. No injuries have been reported thus far.

Rescue Efforts and Precautionary Measures

The Mumbai Fire Brigade swiftly initiated rescue operations, utilizing the adjacent building’s staircase to safely evacuate approximately 50-60 trapped individuals. Firefighters exhibited exemplary courage and professionalism while carrying out the rescue mission.

Rabat, September 9: The death toll from the powerful 6.8-magnitude earthquake that struck central Morocco has increased to 632, with 329 injured persons, reported on Saturday. Morocco’s Interior Ministry said in a statement that the fatalities were reported from the provinces and municipalities of Al-Haouz, Marrakesh, Ouarzazate, Azilal, Chichaoua and Taroudant.

The epicentre was in the High Atlas Mountains

According to the US Geological Survey, the epicentre was in the High Atlas Mountains, 71 km south-west of Marrakesh, at a depth of 18.5 km

The tremors were also reportedly felt in the capital Rabat

The quake struck at 11.11 p.m. and videos on social media showed people fleeing on the roads, damaged buildings and rubble-strewn streets. The tremors were also reportedly felt in the capital Rabat, some 350 km away from the epicentre, as well as the cities of Casablanca and Essaouira.

Gujarat: 9 Including 2 Policemen Killed After Jaguar Car Rams Into People On Iskcon Flyover In Ahmedabad; Post-Accident Visuals Surface

Nine people were killed and close to 13 injured in an accident that took place Thursday morning on a flyover near ISKCON temple on Sarkhej-Gandhinagar (SG) Highway in Ahmedabad. The accident occured around 1 am on Thursday (July 20). “Last night a Jaguar car killed 9 people and injured 10-11 people. The driver has been admitted to hospital and as per doctor’s advice, we will arrest him,” said DCP Traffic West Nita Desai.

“Nine people including two policemen have died in the accident. No one is admitted here,” said Kripa Patel, Medical Officer, Sola Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad.

Shocking visuals from the accident spot emerged, which showed the car completely dismantled.

The accident took place when it was still dark, showed images from the accident spot.

Kripa Patel, Medical Officer, Sola Civil Hospital, said, “12 people were brought to the hospital out of which 9 were dead.” The injured are being treated in the hospital.

UP: 2 Killed, 13 Injured After Under Construction House Collapses In Bulandshahr

Fifteen persons, including five children of the same family, were buried when the lintel of an under construction house fell down on Wednesday in Uttar Pardesh’s Bulandshahr. The accident took place in Mawai, Narsena police station area. Thirteen persons were rescued and two, seriously injured, died in the accident.

The deceased have been identified as Kuldeep and Dharmendra. Those who have been seriously injured have been referred to the Meerut Medical College. According to reports, the house of Harcharan Singh was being constructed. The old lintel was cast on the first floor of the house and the second floor was being constructed. At around 3 AM, the lintel put on the second floor fell on the roof of the first floor and the lintel on the first floor also crashed under its weight.

Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Arvind Kumar Singh, Circle Officer (CO) Bhaskar Kumar Mishra and the rescue team reached the spot and the rescue operation was carried out with the help of villagers.
