Mumbai: Muslims targeted in the name of Bangladesh and Rohingya, people of Govandi Shivaji Nagar are worried, result of hateful agenda of Krit Soumya and BJP: Azmi

Mumbai: In the Maharashtra Assembly, MLA Abu Asim Azmi has demanded an immediate stop to BJP leader Kret Soumya’s hateful agenda and a ban on targeting Muslim-majority areas in the name of Bangladeshis. Kret Soumya has visited Mumbai’s Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar several times and promoted the hateful agenda, due to which it is difficult to get birth and death certificates of children in the MH ward because two officers here have been suspended. Along with this, action has also been taken against them. No one is ready to become the MOH of this constituency and ward and accept its responsibility, due to which people stand in queues for birth and death certificates. Action should be taken where Bangladeshis live, but why are only Muslim-majority areas like Aurangabad, Malegaon, Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar being targeted? The people here are very worried about this. Who is responsible for imposing a ban on Bangladeshis and Rohingyas? Why are they not stopped at the border only on the basis of hatred, Muslim areas are being called Bangladeshis. Azmi has also made a serious allegation that people are being targeted under the guise of being foreigners. He has politely requested the Chief Minister to give some work to Kret Soumya because he has no work, that is why he sees Bangladeshi Rohingyas in Muslim areas. In the House, Abu Asim Azmi demanded a ban on the hateful politics of BJP leaders and the immediate resumption of the issuance of birth and death certificates in the name of infiltration in minority areas like Mankhurd, Shivaji Nagar, Aurangabad and Malegaon.

If there is infiltration of Rohingyas or Bangladeshis in Mumbai or the country, strict action should be taken against it. However, targeting Muslims under the guise of this is completely wrong. It is the responsibility of the government to ban infiltration, issue Aadhaar cards and identity cards. It is unconstitutional and unjust to declare a specific class and sect and Muslims as infiltrators and to withhold their documents in order to hide their failures. He further said that due to the allegations of Kret Soumya, the process of issuing birth and death certificates in the wards of Muslim-majority areas has been paralyzed. Despite the documents, obtaining certificates and other documents is difficult and troublesome. Therefore, in such a situation, the government should issue necessary instructions to simplify the process of issuing wards and certificates and issue certificates immediately.
