Mumbai Accident: 3 Riding Triple-Seat On Scooter Killed After Collision With Dumper Truck On Parel Bridge

Mumbai: In a tragic incident on Mumbai’s Parel Bridge in Tuesday, a collision between a motorcycle and a dumper truck resulted in the loss of three lives, said Police. Bhoiwada Police is investigating the accident. Preliminary reports suggest the collision occurred due to a fatal encounter between a speeding motorcycle and a dumper truck. The impact was severe, leading to the immediate death of three individuals whose identities are yet to be disclosed. Further investigation into the matter is underway. Three persons, including a man and two women rode triple-seat on a motorcycle which lost control and rammed into a truck.
Similar past incident
This comes a month after a similar accident was reported in Mumbai. A 21-year-old man was killed on October 25 while riding triple seat on a motorbike at the Sion-Panvel highway near Mankhurd. Although the father of the deceased had filed a written complaint when the fatal mishap occurred, the cops took so long to convert it into an FIR.
The complainant, Shankar Patil, said that his son, Rohan, worked in a private company in Navi Mumbai. The accident took place when he along with his two friends was returning from Chembur Talao after Durga Visarjan. Rohan, Ajay Bhavsar, 20, and his brother Sai Bhavsar, 18, were returning home after the immersion of the Durga idol. Ajay was riding the bike, Rohan was sitting in the middle while Sai was at the end.

Mumbai Local Train Update: Western Railway To Carry 5-Hour Jumbo Mega Block On Sunday Between Churchgate & Mumbai Central

Mumbai: The Western Railway announced the mega block from Churchgate station to Mumbai Central on Friday, March 21. Due to the megablock, some trains can be disrupted or arrive late on the platform. The megablock will be carried out on Sunday, March 23 from 10.35 AM to 3.35 PM. The jumbo block is aimed at doing the maintenance work of the tracks, signals and overhead equipment.
Megablock will be taken for the five hours between the major western railway stations, Churchgate and Mumbai Central. In the period of the block, the UP and Down fast lines will be affected between these stations as per the report by Media.
As per the press release issued by Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Vineet Abhishek, during the period of the block timings the all fast trains will be run on the slow track between Churchgate to Mumbai Central.
Throughout the mega block, some trains can be late and some trains will be short-terminated. The block effect will be seen in the busiest stations of the Western Railways in Mumbai.
Semi-Naked Drunk Sits On Mumbai Local Train Track
A video went viral on Instagram of the semi-naked man on the track in Mumbai’s Mahim station. The man was fully drunk during this activity wearing a lungi he started climbing on the crew’s compartment.
The crew member started using the stick to stop him. The intoxicated man then sat on the track and decided not to leave the track. Video went viral on social media, and it took a spotlight on Instagram. Many Instagram users reacted differently to the post. Due to this activity, the local train faced a delay from the Mahim station.

Nagpur violence: Law and order restored, 99 people arrested, Police Commissioner Ravinder Singhal

Mumbai: After communal violence, peace has now been restored in Nagpur. Curfew has also been relaxed. Along with this, 99 accused have been arrested so far in the communal violence case. They are accused of being involved in the violence. This information was given by Nagpur Police Commissioner Ravinder Singhal here today. He said that the situation in Nagpur is now peaceful, so curfew has also been relaxed.
Along with this, action is also being taken against those who spread tension and noise. When asked whether the police have also arrested innocent people, Muslims have made such allegations, the Commissioner said that whoever was present at the spot at the time of violence has been arrested. Further action will be taken on the basis of evidence.
Ravinder Singhal said that the accused are being identified on the basis of video photos and other grounds. If any innocent people have been arrested in this, then it will be confirmed in the action through the cyber department. In view of Friday prayers, tight security arrangements were made in the area so that no untoward incident takes place. Anyone arrested will be taken into custody. On the question of the connection between Nagpur violence and Malegaon, the Police Commissioner said that this is a matter of investigation and it is not appropriate to say anything about it right now.
He said that investigation is going on on every aspect. According to Ravinder Singhal, law and order is maintained in Nagpur and the situation is completely under control. Social media and other sources are also being monitored.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar Introduced Amnesty Scheme For Settling Outstanding Payments

Mumbai: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar introduced the Maharashtra Tax, Interest, Penalty, or Late Fee (Settlement of Arrears Payable by Public Sector Undertakings) Bill, 2025 in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday.
This bill proposes a special amnesty scheme to help public sector enterprises clear their outstanding dues efficiently, ensuring that pending revenues are deposited in the state treasury and used for development projects.
The scheme will benefit public sector enterprises under both the Central and state governments. It covers various state taxes that were in effect before the Goods and Services Tax (GST) was introduced. Currently, public sector enterprises owe around Rs25,000 crore in outstanding dues.
To speed up recovery, the government will offer special concessions under this scheme. The settlement window will remain open from the bill’s enactment until December 31, 2025.
