Mumbai: Maharashtra Samajwadi Party leader and MLA Abu Asim Azmi has raised a serious allegation of neglecting minorities in the budget, protesting against the injustice done to minorities in the budget. On the 12th day of the Maharashtra Assembly Budget Session 2026, the discriminatory budget of the Mahayoti government was exposed outside the House. Not even 0.5% of the budget was allocated for the 12% Muslim population of Maharashtra. Is there no place for minorities in the huge budget of Rs 7.69 lakh crore? This is not just a budget but a ‘blueprint’ to deprive a large section of the population of development. The slogan of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” has proved to be completely hollow here. Azmi said that they will continue this fight for rights from the House to the streets. Today, Maharashtra Samajwadi Party leader and MLA Abu Asim Azmi protested on the steps of Vidhan Bhavan against the injustice done to minorities and their deprivation from the budget.

Iran-Israel-US war: Trade hub and oil imports affected, next 47 hours are crucial, hotels and businesses affected due to supply disruptions

Published

on

Iran Israel America war has now affected trade as well as oil and gas supply, due to which the supply of LPG gas cylinders in Mumbai has become difficult and there is a risk of shortage of gas cylinders.

Mumbai is currently facing a severe shortage of LPG cylinders. The supply of commercial gas has been suddenly reduced. This reduction has created an atmosphere of anxiety among the owners of hotels and restaurants in Mumbai. If this situation is not improved immediately, it is feared that many restaurants in the city will close in the next 48 hours. According to information from major hotel associations in Mumbai, the supply of commercial gas cylinders has decreased by 10 to 20 percent in the last few days. There has been a disruption in supply from oil marketing companies (OMCs). Even after asking for cylinders from distributors, they are not delivered on time. Due to which it has become difficult to run the kitchens of hotels that serve thousands of customers every day. The main reasons for this crisis are both global and local. The war-torn situation in West Asia has disrupted the fuel import route. India’s major LPG imports are through this route, where movement of cargo ships is currently restricted. On the other hand, in view of the increasing demand for domestic cylinders, oil companies have preferred domestic supply over commercial supply. This is directly affecting the industries. In addition, logistical and technical work at the refinery level is delaying the movement of cylinders from Mumbai depots.

According to information given by the association officials, the shortage of commercial cylinders in Mumbai and nearby cities is currently limited only to availability. This creates the fear of increasing black market and price hike. Many small hotel owners do not have backup stock, so they have to rely on daily deliveries. The association said that if the supply remains affected, it will also become impossible to pay employees’ salaries and electricity bills. The gas shortage is currently increasing. If the situation continues like this, all restaurants in Mumbai may close in the next two days. The association said that currently, about 10 to 20 percent of the association’s members are facing gas supply problems.
What is the alternative solution?

Many places are temporarily shutting down traditional dishes that require long cooking times. Some restaurants are saving gas by completely shutting down their kitchens between 3 pm and 7 pm. In addition, the use of induction or electric ovens is being increased wherever possible, but this is likely to increase electricity bills.
