India reports 25,404 new Covid cases

 In continuation of the decline in daily Covid-19 cases, India registered 25,404 new infections in the last 24 hours, a 6.8 per cent decrease from the previous day, according to the Union Health Ministry’s data released on Tuesday.

The country reported 27,254 cases on Monday and 28,591 on Sunday.

However, at the same, with 339 new fatalities registered in the last 24 hours, the country’s total Covid death toll increased to 4,43,213.

The fatality rate has remained at 1.33 per cent for the last few days.

The country reported 219 Covid related deaths on Monday and 338 the previous day.

According to the Union Health Ministry’s data, the top five states which have registered maximum cases are Kerala (15,058), Maharashtra (2,740), Tamil Nadu (1,580), Mizoram (1,502) and Andhra Pradesh (864).

The number of active cases has also declined by 12,062 and the current active cases are 3,62,207, which is 1.13 per cent of the total Covid infection reported in the country since early 2020.

At the same period, a total of 37,127 Covid-infected patients have recovered, pushing the country’s total recoveries to 3,24,84,159.

As per the Ministry data, the Covid recovery rate stood at 97.58 per cent.

The weekly positivity rate was reported at 2.7 per cent, which is less than 3 per cent for the last 81 days, while the daily positivity rate was 2.7 per cent, which remained below 3 per cent for the last 15 days.

India so far tested a total of 54.44 crore Covid samples, out of which 14,30,891 were conducted in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry.

Till date, the country has administered over 75.22 crore (75,22,38,324) doses of Covid vaccines, out of which 78,66,950 were given in the last 24 hours.

India logs 6,990 Covid cases, less than 10k for fourth straight day

India reported 6,990 fresh Covid cases in the past 24 hours, below the 10,000-mark for fourth consecutive day, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Tuesday morning.

In the same time span, a total of 190 deaths were reported pushing the toll to 4,68,980 across the nation.

With the recovery of 10,116 patients, the cumulative tally has gone up to 3,40,18,299. The recovery rate now stands at 98.35 per cent, highest since March 2020.

The active caseload stands at 1,00,543, lowest in the last 546 days. Currently, active cases constitute 0.29 per cent of the country’s total positive cases, the lowest since March 2020.

Also in the same period, a total of 10,12,523 tests were conducted across the country. India has so far conducted over 64.13 crore cumulative tests.

Meanwhile, the weekly positivity rate at 0.84 per cent has remained less than 1 per cent for the last 16 days now.

The daily positivity rate stands at 0.69 per cent, which has also remained below 2 per cent for last 57 days and less than 3 per cent for 92 consecutive days now.

With the administration of 78,80,545 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, the Covid inoculation coverage has reached 123.25 crore as of Tuesday morning.

This has been achieved through 1,28,09,178 in sessions.

More than 22.70 crore balance and unutilised Covid vaccine doses are still available with the states and Union Territories to be administered, according to the ministry. India has administered 123.25 crore vaccine doses so far under nationwide vaccination drive.

Daily Covid cases in India fall below 10,000 3rd day in a row

India on Monday reported 8,309 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, below the 10,000-mark for three days in a row. In the same time span, a total of 236 deaths were reported across the nation, said the Ministry of Health and Family welfare on Monday morning.

With the addition of 236 new deaths, the death toll has reached 4,68,790.

On Sunday, India reported 8,774 new Covid cases and 621 deaths. And, on Saturday (November 27) 8,318 fresh cases and 465 deaths were registered in 24 hours.

The recovery of 9,905 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally to 3,40,08,183. Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.34 per cent, highest since March 2020.

The active caseload stands at 1,03,859. Active cases presently constitute 0.30 per cent of the country’s total positive cases, the lowest since March 2020.

Also in the same period, a total of 7,62,268 tests were conducted across the country. India has so far conducted over 64.02 crore cumulative tests.

Meanwhile, the weekly positivity rate at 0.85 per cent has remained less than 1 per cent for the last 15 days now.

The daily positivity rate stands at 1.09 per cent, which has also remained below 2 per cent for the last 56 days and less than 3 per cent for 91 consecutive days now.

With the administration of 42,04,171 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid inoculation coverage has reached 122.41 crore as of Monday morning.

This has been achieved through 1,26,81,072 sessions.

More than 24.61 crore balance and unutilized Covid Vaccine doses are still available with the states and UTs to be administered, according to the health ministry as of on Monday morning.

India on Sunday reported 8,774 fresh Covid cases and 621 deaths in the last 24 hours, said the Ministry of Health and Family welfare on Sunday morning.

The recovery of 9,481 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally to 3,39,98,278. Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.34 per cent, highest since March 2020.

The total death toll has climbed to 4,68,554.

The active caseload stands at 1,05,691. Active cases presently constitute 0.31 per cent of the country’s total positive cases, the lowest since March 2020.

Also in the same period, a total of 10,91,236 tests were conducted across the country. India has so far conducted over 63.94 crore cumulative tests.

Meanwhile, the weekly positivity rate at 0.85 per cent has remained less than 1 per cent for the last 14 days now.

The daily positivity rate stands at 0.80 per cent, which has also remained below 2 per cent for the last 55 days and less than 3 per cent for 90 consecutive days now.

With the administration of 82,86,058 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid inoculation coverage has reached 121.94 crore as of Sunday morning.

More than 22.83 crore balance and unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the states and union territories to be administered, according to the health ministry as of Sunday morning.
