India logs 33,376 new Covid cases, 308 deaths

India logged 33,376 new Covid-19 cases and 308 fatalities in the last 24 hours, which increased the overall infection tally and death toll to 3,32,08,330 and 4,42,317, respectively, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s (MoHFW) latest data revealed on Saturday.
According to the data, currently there are 3,91,516 active cases which constitutes 1.8 per cent of the total infections, while the national recovery rate stands at 97.49 per cent with 3,23,74,497 people having recuperated from the disease till Saturday.
With 25,010 people testing positive for the virus and 177 deaths, Kerala remains the worst-affected state, followed by Maharashtra which recorded 4,154 new cases and 44 fatalities.
Meanwhile, 54,01,96,989 samples have been tested up to Friday with 15,92,135 samples being tested in the last 24 hours, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) tweeted.
On the vaccination front, nearly 73 crore vaccines have been administered across the country, the Ministry said on Friday.
Around 58 per cent of the country’s adult population has received the first dose while close to 18 per cent have been fully inoculated.
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting to review the Covid-19 situation and progress of the vaccination drive in the country.
“In a few geographies, districts with high test positivity as well as the week-on-week test positivity rate in the country”, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement.
“It was discussed that across the world there are countries where the number of active Covid cases continues to remain high. In India too, the figures from states like Maharahstra and Kerala indicate that there can be no room for complacency,” the statement added.
The Prime Minister also underscored the need to pace up the entire process to ensure increased oxygen availability, including oxygen concentrators, cylinders and PSA plants.
Meanwhile, experts are worried that festive season can play a huge role in increasing infection cases and thereby cautioning masses against mass gathering, urging them to continue following Covid-19 guidelines.

Maulana Shahabuddin’s question on Minister Sanjay Nishad’s Holi statement, where should Muslims go after leaving the country

Lucknow, March 13: All India Muslim Jamaat’s National President Maulana Mufti Shahabuddin Razvi’s reaction has come to the fore on Uttar Pradesh government minister Sanjay Nishad’s statement about playing Holi. In fact, Minister Sanjay Nishad said that those who avoid colors should leave the country. Maulana Shahabuddin has condemned this statement of the minister.
The Maulana said that no minister should make such a statement and the minister does not have the right to make such statements to create hatred in the society.
The Maulana further said, “When the minister took oath, he did not swear that those who avoid colors will have to leave the country. He had sworn that there will be justice for everyone and no one will be discriminated against.” He asked that the minister should tell where 30 crore Muslims should go after leaving the country.
Maulana said that now the minister is working against the oath, which does not suit him. He asked whether the minister wants to create riots in the country by making such statements. Does he want to spread the poison of hatred among people? He demanded legal action against such people and said that such people should be removed from the post of minister.
Earlier, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi said that the holy month of Ramzan is going on. Along with this, preparations for Holi have also started. He said that the month of Ramzan teaches patience. Allah has said in the Quran Sharif that God is with those who are patient. Our Prophet(S.A.W) has said in Hadith Sharif, “A good Muslim is one whose hands, feet, tongue do not cause any trouble to anyone else.” I appeal that Muslims should follow all these things.

Holi, Ramzan, Jumme ki Namaaz, Brothers and sisters, do not throw colors on Muslims on Holi, Muslims should be patient Abu Asim Azmi

Mumbai: Maharashtra Samajwadi Party leader and MLA Abu Asim Azmi has appealed to the countrymen not to throw colors on Muslims during Jumme ki Namaaz on Holi and has also requested Muslims to show patience and restraint.
He said that if colors are thrown on someone knowingly or unknowingly, they should be patient as communal forces are trying to spoil the atmosphere. He said that Friday of Holi and Ramzan is the same day in the country and Jumme ki Namaaz is very beneficial. This prayer and worship cannot be done at home, so Muslims go to the mosque in large numbers for Jumme ki Namaaz. In such a situation, miscreants also try to spread chaos. Muslims should be careful in such a situation.
Along with this, I also appeal to my countrymen to show brotherhood and Hindus and Muslims should celebrate the festival together. This is the beauty of this country, but communal elements are trying to spoil it.
