Choosing to end their 18-year-long marriage, actor Dhanush and director Aishwaryaa Dhanush, who also happens to be the daughter of superstar Rajinikanth, have announced that they have decided to part ways.

Late on Monday night, both the actor and the director put out a letter, which looked similar for the most part, on their respective social media handles. Dhanush, who was most recently seen with Sara Ali Khan in ‘Atrangi Re’, shared his letter on Twitter, Aishwarya chose Instagram.

In the letter posted on his timeline, Dhanush said, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting.

“Today, we stand at a place where our paths separate.

“Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this. Om Namah Shivaaya! Spread love!”

Aishwaryaa’s letter read pretty much the same except for the last line in which she said: “Much love always to you all! Godspeed.”

On Instagram, while posting the letter, Aishwaryaa added: “No caption needed. Only your understanding and your love are necessary!”

The decision of the couple, who have two sons, Yatra and Linga, comes as a bolt from the blue to the film industry.

A special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court here on Tuesday sent Suneha Pandit, the 13th accused arrested in connection with the firing incident on Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff, to police custody till November 16.

The Mumbai Crime Branch had arrested Suneha Pandit, the sister-in-law of gangster Anil Pandit, who had claimed responsibility for the October 18 firing case, from Haryana’s Karnal district.

She was produced before a special MCOCA court in Mumbai on Tuesday, where investigators sought her police custody for further questioning.

According to officials, Suneha Pandit is the wife of Abhishek, who allegedly operates a cryptocurrency account.

Funds have reportedly been received in this account from abroad, and investigators suspect that the money may be proceeds from extortion.

Abhishek Pandit is the brother of Anil Pandit and is accused of running two other groups along with his network and is said to handle payments for all operations.

The other accused persons in the firing case were assigned special codes through which Abhishek Pandit allegedly transferred money to them, police said.

The Mumbai Crime Branch had sought 15 days of police custody for Suneha Pandit.

However, her lawyer opposed the police custody request, arguing that the police have already obtained all the information they required.

The Mumbai Crime Branch also informed the court that the funds allegedly used in the Tiger Shroff firing case came from foreign sources.

In its order, the MCOCA court sent the accused woman to the custody of the Mumbai Crime Branch until November 16.

Last week, a special MCOCA court sent Amar, the 12th accused arrested from Haryana’s Sonipat, to police custody till November 6.

Prior to that, the MCOCA court had sent 11 other accused arrested in connection with the firing on Shroff’s car to police custody till November 6.

Amar was arrested from Rohna village in Sonipat.

According to officials, Amar is accused of having transferred money, allegedly used in the commission of the crime, online. The funds were reportedly used for various expenses, including the purchase of a motorcycle and booking hotel rooms linked to the case.

Bombay HC orders BMC to re-upload Dia Mirza anti-cracker video, raps political criticism

The Bombay High Court on Tuesday directed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to re-upload the public awareness video of actor Dia Mirza that urged citizens not to burst firecrackers on public roads during Diwali.

She had uploaded the video on the court’s earlier directions aimed at curbing pollution.

A division bench of Justice Girish Kulkarni and Justice Dr Neela Gokhale expressed strong displeasure over remarks made by certain political leaders against the actor for participating in the awareness campaign.

The court also reiterated that India is a secular country and emphasised the importance of following judicial directions issued in the public interest.

The BMC had enlisted Dia Mirza as part of its Diwali awareness drive to sensitise citizens about air pollution and compliance with court-imposed restrictions on bursting firecrackers in public spaces. However, the civic body removed the video from its social media platforms after objections were raised by BJP leaders, including Mumbai BJP chief Ameet Satam and BMC Mayor Ritu Tawde.

Tawde had criticised Mirza’s appeal, alleging that her opposition was consistently directed against Hindutva and those associated with it. She argued that Hindus did not require lessons on how to celebrate Diwali and accused the actor of pursuing a selective agenda.

Responding to the controversy, Dia Mirza defended the video, saying it was recorded on the directions of the Bombay High Court and was intended to promote public awareness about air pollution.

“Diwali celebrates the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance and hope over despair. The video was recorded in the interest of public awareness, with the intention of encouraging a healthier and more mindful celebration. Air pollution is a matter of public health, and every effort towards reducing it is a step towards a better environment for all,” Mirza told media on Monday.

The BMC’s Diwali campaign featured several public figures, including actor Madhuri Dixit and cricketer Ajinkya Rahane, advocating environmentally responsible celebrations. However, objections were raised to Mirza’s participation, with critics questioning the involvement of celebrities in advising the public on festival practices.

Bigg Boss 20: Asif Khan urges fans not to take health for granted after his own heart attack incident

Actor Asif Khan urged people to prioritise their health and not take their well-being for granted, following his own heart attack incident.

In an exclusive conversation with media, the actor opened up the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and advised people to pay attention to their sleeping cycles and eating habits.

When asked what precautions he would recommend to his fans, particularly those who tend to neglect their health, Asif said, “First of all, I would tell everyone to stop overthinking. Improve your sleeping cycle and eating habits. There is no rocket science involved in maintaining good health, but we often take the basics for granted.

He added, “We tend to ignore small things that can make a big difference. For instance, many people wake up in the morning and immediately consume tea or coffee on an empty stomach, which is not advisable. We make small mistakes in our daily routines and do not realise their consequences until much later. So, it is important to take care of these basic habits.”

The actor’s remarks come amid the controversy surrounding his heart condition during his stint on ‘Bigg Boss 20’.

Asif had an argument with fellow contestant Qazi Touqeer after the latter allegedly mocked his heart condition, prompting the actor to clarify that his health concerns were genuine.

The incident also brought attention to the actor’s medical history. His wife took to social media to share a detailed account of his health emergency last year. She also shared photographs from the hospital and medical documents to prove her claims that Asif had suffered a heart attack at the age of 34.

In her statement, she revealed that the actor had suffered a massive heart attack, with his main coronary artery completely blocked. He then underwent a stent procedure and remained hospitalised for 21 days.

His wife also explained that Asif had initially spoken about his condition as gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) because he feared that disclosing a serious heart condition could affect his professional opportunities and cost him projects.
