Amid Holi-Jumma row, cleric calls for peace and harmony

Published

on

Lucknow, March 13: With Holi and the second Friday of Ramzan coinciding this year, Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali, a senior Sunni cleric, has issued an advisory urging communal harmony and peaceful celebrations.

The overlap of the festival and the Jumma prayers on March 14 has led to political tensions, prompting discussions on adjusting prayer and celebration timings to ensure order.

In several areas, local communities have taken initiatives to modify the schedule. Some mosques have decided to extend their prayer timings, while in certain places, Holi processions have been rescheduled or shortened.

Addressing the situation in a video message, Maulana Khalid Rasheed said, “The Islam Centre of India has issued an advisory to extend the timing of mosques, and our Hindu brothers have also adjusted Holi processions at many places.”

He further urged people to remain vigilant against misinformation.

“We hope that both communities will celebrate this day according to their religion and faith. There should be no confusion or rumours, and everyone should ignore any misinformation. This day should be observed in a peaceful atmosphere, setting an example of religious harmony for the world,” he added.

The advisory comes amid heightened security in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal, where mosques are being covered with tarpaulin sheets as a precautionary measure.

This step follows last year’s violent protests triggered by a court-ordered survey of the Jama Masjid, which some believe stands on the site of a demolished Vishnu temple. The incident led to clashes and fatalities, prompting local authorities to ensure no disruption during the upcoming festivals.

Meanwhile, Holi celebrations in Sambhal began with the Rangbhari Ekadashi festivities, a five-day event leading up to the main celebrations on Friday.

Authorities are closely monitoring the developments, emphasising the need for cooperation to maintain peace and order.

Parambir’s black magic statement in Loot Leela is to create sensation in the media: Chetan Mehta’s lawyer

Published

on

Mumbai: The statement given by Jaisul Hind Recovery Organization founder Parambir Singh these days while engrossed in devotion to Leela Hospital is also making headlines in a tremendous way, although many media publications are trying to distance themselves from Parambir’s black magic statement because everyone knows that Parambir knows how to use the media very well, just like he used it in Antilia. After this statement of Parambir, Chetan Mehta’s statement has been given by his lawyer.

His lawyer Simran Singh issued a press release saying that the allegations made by the alleged trustees of the Lilavati Trust in the press release issued on March 11, 2025 are baseless and shocking. These are categorically denied. This is their attempt to defame my client and intimidate him to drop the proceedings going on against these alleged trustees and their illegal appointment, which are pending for decision as of today.

The concerned authorities (Charity Commissioner) upheld my client’s position as permanent trustee through an order dated September 2024, which he has since challenged. This vitriolic media attack comes in the wake of the Supreme Court order directing the Charity Commissioner to dispose of the pending proceedings in a timely manner and therefore seeks to malign my client’s image by making these false and frivolous allegations.

My client has been a trustee of the prestigious Lilavati Hospital since the year 2007. During his tenure of nearly two decades, he has worked diligently and diligently, making Lilavati today known as a hospital providing high standard and superior medical services with a team of super specialists. Lilavati has been repeatedly referred to as one of the biggest and best hospitals in India. Some of the allegations are not just completely false but are actually recorded in the hospital records during my client’s tenure. They are as follows:

  1. Hospital turnover increased from Rs 200 crore to over Rs 500 crore.
  2. Donations totalling Rs 250 crore including organising camps, free check-ups for women and girls, thousands of free surgeries for the needy.
  3. Deposits increased from Rs 10 crore to Rs 500 crore.
  4. World class equipment purchased for an amount of Rs 250 crore.

The facts prove that there is no truth in any of the allegations made by these controversial and alleged trustees. After the hospital attaining world class service status and the recent Supreme Court order which will put an end to their illegal claims, they have come to usurp power. The allegations of black magic are not even worth responding to and are only meant to create sensation.

Kishor Mehta and his family have been declared wilful defaulters by banks as per RBI circulars and guidelines. HDFC, a leading bank in India, has filed bankruptcy proceedings against him. ARC has initiated bankruptcy proceedings against him. Not just this, he has faced questioning from the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation. There are several actions going on against him for financial irregularities. The Debt Recovery Tribunal has passed a very detailed order condemning his conduct of embezzlement of public money. In fact, we understand that a Red Corner Notice was issued against Rajesh Mehta and he has been unable to leave India since then.

With little regard for the law, these self-styled crusaders paid his law firm ₹1 crore on the morning of September 25, a day after he was suspended as a trustee. It is their modus operandi to try to lodge an FIR, the subject matter of which has been quashed through judicial pronouncements on several occasions before.

My client has always maintained the highest ethical standards as a trustee and we are fully committed to cooperating with any investigating agency to ensure that the truth comes out. We have full faith in the judicial system and will deal with attempts to intimidate and harass us by pursuing all remedies available to us in law.

Delay in construction of Bhiwandi maternity and child hospital, Health Minister orders Rais Shaikh to visit hospital with government officials

Published

on

Mumbai: After the issue of delay and irregularities in the construction of maternity hospital in Bhiwandi was raised in the Assembly, Health Minister Prakash Abitkar announced that local MLA Rais Shaikh will personally visit the hospital along with senior officials and necessary action will be taken on his report. Abitkar announced that he will work to equip the hospital and arrange personnel there to make it operational as soon as possible.

Abitkar made this remark while responding to the issue raised by Samajwadi Party MLA Rais Shaikh during the Q&A session in the Assembly on Wednesday. Bhiwandi city and rural areas have a population of 1.8 million, yet there is only one IGM hospital. MLA Rais Shaikh said that this hospital is able to provide service to only 27 percent of the women of the area, while the remaining 73 percent women have to go to Mumbai and other places for treatment.

Highlighting the delay and irregularities in the construction of the Mother and Child Hospital, MLA Rais Shaikh said that the deadline for this project is 400 days. Today, 376 days have passed since the work order was issued, but only 36 per cent of the work has been completed. Is it possible for the government to complete the remaining 74 per cent work in just 24 days? MLA Rais Shaikh said that despite the huge delay, no action has been taken against the responsible officials or contractors.

Will the government take action against those responsible for the delay and poor quality work? How many more days will it take to complete this project? What will happen to the equipment and manpower required for the hospital? MLA Rais Shaikh demanded that a parallel process be initiated so that the hospital can start functioning as soon as possible.

Responding to various issues raised by Shaikh, Health Minister Prakash Abitkar suggested that MLA Rais Shaikh should visit the hospital within a month along with the Deputy Director and Superintending Engineer. A report of this visit will be prepared. Action will be taken against the irregularities mentioned in the report and your suggestions will be implemented to start the hospital as soon as possible. The work of the mother and child hospital is expected to be completed by November. We will soon place the necessary orders for the required equipment and manpower, Abitkar said.
