Aditya Thackeray slams Maharashtra govt for bad air quality in MMR
Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray has slammed sufferings of the people due to poor air standards in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) as an indicator of “the quality of the unconstitutional government” in the state, here on Monday.
In a detailed tweet, he attacked the Shiv Sena Chief Minister Eknath Shinde regime for having no care for the common man owing to low air grade in the MMR.
“For over 2 months, citizens are falling sick, asking questions, but the absence of a legitimate, sensitive CM and a full time environment minister has led to this situation,” alleged Thackeray.
He accused the government of shelving the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) regime’s work of Mumbai Climate Action Plan and National Clean Air Program “due to their political and personal agendas”.
Justifying his contentions, Thackeray Jr. cited the recent air quality index figures of various prominent cities or towns in the MMR comprising Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and Palghar regions.
They include: Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Mhatwali, Dombivali, Mira-Bhayander and Bhiwandi (280), Kalyan, Ulhasnagar, Badlapur (262) and Tarkhad (90), among the worst polluted areas.
Thackeray’s scathing comments came days after reports pointing at growing concerns over a huge spike in cases of patients suffering from breathing problems, cold, persistent dry cough, headaches, throat infections, etc.
This has gripped a large section of the population in Mumbai and surroundings in the past three months when the AQI has dipped to alarming levels, affecting children and the senior citizens, many hospitalised or in ICU’s owing respiratory ailments coupled with a recent surge in Covid-19 cases in the state, as per official data.

Several important conclusions have been made in this case, so the Nashik police have invited the investigative agencies to join the investigation. The police have registered 9 FIRs in the Mumbai Nashik TCS religious conversion sexual harassment case, in which 9 accused have been named. These accused are accused of abusing their position and authority to harass women at the workplace and also agitating the religious sentiments of the employees. In this case, cases have been registered in Nashik police stations under sections including sexual harassment, hurting religious sentiments, harassment at work and other sections. All the accused have been found to be related to each other, including 2 women and the rest are men.
Nashik Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik claims that the police have registered a case and started investigation in this matter, along with which several accused have been arrested, along with Nida Khan being a key accused in this matter. In the investigation so far, the police have found that TCS employees had made allegations including religious conversion, sexual harassment, harassment of women at their workplace, hurting religious sentiments, and conspiring to form a group.
In this case, the police are now trying to find out why these accused formed a group to carry out religious conversions and other matters and who is behind it. Nashik Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik has sent letters to the investigating agencies and requested them to join the investigation. Along with this, these agencies can also investigate matters ranging from foreign funding to terror funding. After this Nashik case, politics has also started on it and political leaders have also started giving it a new word, corporate jihad, which is why this matter has now become very sensitive. In this case, the families of the accused have denied the serious allegations and have said that the issue of religious conversion and corporate jihad is limited only to the media, while there is no such issue in this case.

TCS Case: Women Hold Bike Rally In Nashik To Protest Harassment & Conversion Incident; BJP MLA Calls For ‘Death Sentence’

Mumbai: A group of women held a ‘Ranragini Jan Aakrosh’ bike rally in Nashik to protest against the alleged case of religious conversion and sexual harassment linked to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Visuals showed several women participating in the rally, waving saffron flags and raising slogans such as ‘Jai Siyaram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai.’
The protest was organised to express anger and seek justice over the alleged incident. In the rally, participation was also seen by BJP MLA Devayani Farande. Speaking on the issue, she strongly condemned the alleged incident. She said that forcing Hindu girls to observe religious practices like roza and namaz, along with allegations of harassment and conversion, is against the Constitution of India.
She added, “Such individuals should have their nationality revoked. They should be charged with treason and sentenced to death. Their property should be sealed, and bulldozer action should be taken over their homes.
Meanwhile, earlier today, the company also asked its employees at its Nashik location to work from home as a precautionary measure for their convenience and safety amid the religious conversion and harassment claims. The company’s headquarters in New Delhi has also taken serious note of the matter, as a senior team from the company arrived in Nashik and has begun an internal inspection of the office.
According to the ongoing police investigation, the accused in the Nashik harassment case at the TCS branch had allegedly ignored repeated complaints by victims, failing to forward them to higher-ups in the company. According to the police, the HR Manager Nida Khan is the alleged ‘mastermind’ who tried to suppress the complaint and allegedly shield the accused.
Currently, cases have been registered against eight persons, and the police arrested seven individuals, including the company’s HR official, Ashwini Chainani. It was during Ashwini’s interrogation that Nida Khan’s alleged key role came to light. Three police teams have been dispatched to trace Nida Khan. Chainani, who was presented before the Court, has been remanded to 14-day judicial custody.
Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran has also ordered an internal investigation, calling such allegations ‘gravely concerning and anguishing.’ In a statement, Chandrasekaran said the matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness, and action has already been initiated against the accused employees. He added that the company is extending full cooperation to the ongoing investigations.
