Maharashtra Budget 2023: 700 free ‘Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray’ clinics to be set up across statev

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in his budget speech announced that Under the ‘Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray’ dispensary, 700 free healthcare centres will open across the state.

Fadnavis said that the Apla Davakhana clinics got a good response in Mumbai, and there will be more centres opening across the state.

The Deputy CM further announced that Rs 3500 crore have been allocated for the health sector.

Outlay for farmers increased

During the budget presentation, Fadnavis stated that the outlay for farmers has been increased by Rs 6,900 crore, and the coverage of the government’s Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya scheme has been increased from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.

Deepak Kesarkar, Minister of State for School Education, read out the budget proposals in the Legislative Council.

Maharashtra’s economy is likely to grow at 6.8 per cent during the financial year 2022-23 (April-March), as per the state’s Economic Survey document for the current fiscal.

During 2022-23, the agriculture and allied sector in the state is expected to grow by 10.2 per cent, the industry sector is expected to grow by 6.1 per cent and the services sector by 6.4 per cent, the document showed on Wednesday.

MyBMC will know through Sachet applicationActual status of field work

Assistance in maintenance, solid waste management, control of related functions of buildings and factories and facilitation of operations at the administrative division (ward) level.

Application is currently on pilot basis, available full time from 1st October 2024

The mobile application was developed by the Information Technology Department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation

Maintenance, Solid Waste Management, Buildings & control of related operations of factory department And for the purpose of facilitating it, MyBMC Sachet app has been created on behalf of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to know the actual status of field work. Currently, this mobile application has been launched on an experimental basis. From 1st October 2024 it will be available full time for the concerned employees.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Commissioner and Administrator Shri. According to the guidance of Bhushan Gagrani, as well as Additional Municipal Commissioner (City) Dr. (Mrs.) Ashwini Joshi’s concept, Information Technology Department has developed MyBMC Sachet application based on Geographical Information Technology (GIS).

The employees and officers of various departments of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation are regularly doing field work. MyBMC Sachet app has been created with the aim of improving transparency, reliability and management of field operations in the work done by them. This application has been developed by the Information Technology Department of the Municipal Corporation.

Under this, the employees and officers related to the operations of maintenance, solid waste management, buildings and factory departments at various administrative department (ward) levels can record their daily activities details with photographs. After completion of the said work can also record the completion of the work by uploading the related information and photographs. Hence, information about their ongoing work, completed work and current status of work etc. will be available at a moment’s notice.

Assistant Commissioners of concerned departments, Deputy Commissioners of Circles, Additional Municipal Commissioners as well as Municipal Commissioners will be able to review this complete information and operations through the web application and dashboard.

Currently this mobile application is launched on Android platform and on experimental basis. Soon this application will be made available on iOS platform as well. It is being informed by the municipal administration that it will be available full-time for the concerned employees and officers from October 1, 2024.

Mumbai: Women Doctors Raising Sexual Harassment Complaints At Nair Hospital Being Silenced, Supriya Sule’s Big Charge

Mumbai: Member of Parliament and NCP (SP) leader Supriya Sule said on Friday that the women doctors of Mumbai’s civic-run Nair Hospital who have raised complaints about sexual harassment are being silenced. “Despite them requesting to be heard, government authorities are turning a blind eye to this entire issue. We demand urgent action now, it is gravely jeopardising women’s safety,” Sule said in her X post.

On Thursday, in a hearing, several more female students came forward to lodge complaints against a suspended assistant professor from BYL Nair Hospital, who was accused of sexual harassment. To date, around 10 complaints have been filed against the professor, reports say.

As per HT’s report, the hearing was organised following a directive from the additional municipal commissioner of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. It was conducted by the Savitribai Phule Women’s Resource Centre’s Internal Complaints Committee and Sexual Harassment Prevention Committee at the Workplace. 

What Is the Nair Hospital Case

A female student studying at Bai Yamunabai Laxman (B.Y.L.) Nair Hospital and Medical College, located in Mumbai Central, lodged an official complaint accusing the associate professor of inappropriate conduct and sexual harassment. The allegations were initially examined by the hospital’s internal Sexual Harassment Prevention Committee.

Earlier this month, Nair Hospital’s Dean had said that he received the information about the sexual harassment case from the internal complaints committee on April 12 and by first week of June the professor was taken off from all academic activities.

On September 15, the BMC informed that the professor was suspended after the sexual harassment complaints. The case was escalated to the Municipal Headquarters’ Complaint Committee under the Savitribai Phule Women’s Resource Center.

Badalapur Case: High Court orders state government to bury Akshay Shinde’s body

Mumbai: Akshay Shinde, the main accused in the Badlapur atrocities case, was encountered. After the death of Akshay Shinde, his parents have complained that there is no place to bury him and there is opposition to his funeral. In this background, Akshay Shinde’s parents rushed to the High Court. A hearing was held in the High Court about this recently. At this time, the High Court gave an important order to bury the body of Akshay Shinde by Monday. It has also been said by the lawyers that the state government will provide space for this.

Badlapur case accused Akshay Shinde had an encounter with the police three days ago. Akshay’s body was handed over to his relatives the next day. At this time, it was decided to bury the dead body as the case is being investigated. But the locals of Badlapur and the MNS have opposed the burial of his body. There is opposition to burying Akshay’s body in three places. During the hearing in the court today in this case, the judge has given a strict order to the police. Take steps to bury Akshay’s body by Monday, if the body is buried in two days then inform the court on Monday, the court also said.

During this hearing, the government advocates presented their side in this matter. The local police are looking after the safety of Akshay Shinde’s parents. But the lawyers who are in favor of Akshay Shinde are going outside the court and giving wrong information to the media. Akshay Shinde’s parents are being fully supported by the state government, the public prosecutor said.

The judge will take police precautions in this regard. He said that we have already informed him in this regard. After this, the public prosecutor told the court that we will provide a place for burying the dead body. The judge ordered to cooperate with the government, they are taking responsibility in this regard.

Meanwhile, Akshay’s body is being neglected and an application was made in the Bombay High Court to get a place to bury his body. Hearing on this application was held today. In this hearing, the High Court has directed to bury the body by Monday. Also, the state government will provide a place to bury the body of Akshay Shinde. The lawyers of the state government have testified in this regard in the Bombay High Court.
