Zayn Ibad on role in ‘Aashiqana’ : My character is very different from other on-screen police avatars

Actor Zayn Ibad, who plays a cop in his new show Aashiqana – Murder Ke Mausam Mein Pyaar, talks about how his avatar is very different from other cop portrayals on-screen.

Talking about the role, he says that he has never played something like this before.

“I cannot share much about it at this point but all I can say is that this is a very different character. I am having a great time playing this character. I cannot reveal the name of my character. It is a fairly challenging character and very different from what I have played before. In my first show, I was playing a proper positive character, totally loyal.”

“Then, in the second show, it was a drastic change. I became the negative lead. It was totally the opposite. And this time, I am a cop and things are totally different. I cannot tell the exact character details. But I’m having great fun,” he says.

The actor adds that the cop avatar that he dons has never been seen before. “First of all, it is a big responsibility because a lot of great actors have played this part of a police cop. All I can say is that my character is very different from the other police characters that have been portrayed in Bollywood and in our TV industry as well as around the globe as well. I’m blessed to have got such a breakthrough role in my life.”

“So, it’s a whole different feeling and it’s a different adrenaline rush. When you wear that police uniform, you feel that rush, you feel that adrenaline, that there’s some pressure on your shoulders. It’s an entirely different feeling.”

In fact, the actor has undergone a huge transformation for the role as well.

“I have a bit of a transformation. In my previous show, I was playing the younger brother of my co-actor, I had the look of a clean, sharp looking guy, a negative guy, always planning, plotting something. But this time, I have to change my body a little bit as well. I changed my physique this time. I’m going on the leaner side with less muscles. It is leaner than my look in Vidrohi. This is the first time that I’m going to shoot with long hair as well as a bit of a beard,” he says.

Ask him who his favourite cop characters are, and he says: “It’s Singham. I loved Ajay Devgn Sir in the film, he has done a great job. I also loved watching Salman Khan in Dabangg. Besides Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn, I enjoy watching Ranveer Singh play a cop on screen because no one can match his energy.”

'Stand Up For Your Worth': Aishwarya Rai Makes Strong Statement Amid Divorce Rumours With Abhishek Bachchan

Bollywood’s OG queen, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, shared a hard-hitting video message for her fans on social media on Monday, in which she advised women to stand up for themselves and never compromise their worth because of someone else’s actions. This comes amid reports of trouble in her marriage with actor Abhishek Bachchan.

Aishwarya took to her Instagram to share a video, in which she can be heard saying, “Street harassment, how to deal with it? Avoid eye contact? No. Look the problem directly in the eyes. Hold your head high. Feminine and feminist. My body, my worth.”

She went on to say, “Never compromise your worth. Do not doubt yourself. Stand up for your worth. Don’t blame your dress or your lipstick. Street harassment is never your fault.”

The video was a part of her campaign for the brand, L’oreal Paris, on the occasion of International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Aishwarya has been all over the news of late due to rumours of her separation with Abhishek Bachchan. Reports about trouble in their paradise have been doing the rounds for a while now, and their recent solo appearances have only added fuel to the fire.

Things further escalated when Abhishek did not wish both Aishwarya, and their daughter Aaradhya, on their birthdays on social media, while he did it for other members in the his family. He was even missing at Aaradhya’s birthday bash and the other Bachchans too did not participate in it.

Not just that, but a few days ago, rumour mills went abuzz with claims that Abhishek had an extramarital affair with his Dasvi co-star Nimrat Kaur, which is the reason why Aishwarya decided to step back from the marriage.

The couple has, however, maintained radio silence on their equation, which is one of the most-talked-about topic in the nation right now.

Bigg Boss fame Ajaz Khan polls fewer votes than even NOTA in Versova

Published

on

Ajaz Khan, the Bigg Boss fame actor-turned-politician, suffered an embarrassing defeat in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, where he polled just 155 from the Versova constituency. Remarkably, even the NOTA (None of the Above) option has outperformed him, securing 1,298 votes.

Fielded by Chandrashekhar Azad’s Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram), Ajaz Khan failed to translate his social media popularity – a staggering 5.6 million Instagram followers – into votes.

His political debut at the state level appears to have fallen flat, much like his earlier foray into the Lok Sabha elections. Khan had contested from the Mumbai North Central seat during the general elections but failed to make an impact there as well.

The Versova constituency, meanwhile, witnessed a fierce contest between Haroon Khan of the Shiv Sena (UBT) and Bharati Lavekar of the BJP. Haroon Khan, however, won the seat with a margin of over 1,600 votes.

While Ajaz Khan has struggled to breach even the 150-vote mark, the Mahayuti alliance is surging towards a dominant victory across the state, projected to win over 221 seats. In contrast, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and Sharad Pawar’s NCP faction, appears headed for a humiliating defeat.
