Stalin announces 5 new schemes to mark DMK government’s 1st anniversary in Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday visited the memorials of DMK founder and former Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai and his father Kalaignar Karunanidhi on the first anniversary of his government in the state.

He also took a surprise ride in a bus to check the efficiency of free travel for women scheme.

The Chief Minister also announced five new schemes on Saturday by making a statement under Rule 110 in the state Legislative Assembly.

The first scheme, according to the Chief Minister, is to provide nutritious morning tiffin on all working days to government school students from Class 1 to 5. Initially, the scheme would be implemented in certain municipal corporations and remote villages.

Under the second new scheme, Medical assistance and nutrients would be provided to students under the age of six for setting right the nutrient deficiency in these children.

The Chief Minister said that 25 higher secondary schools run by the state government and municipal corporations will be upgraded under the third scheme as schools of excellence and an amount of Rs 150 crore is earmarked for the same. These schools, according to the Chief Minister will be upgraded in line with the model government schools in Delhi.

To provide health care to the people, the government intends to open urban health centres in line with primary health centres under the fourth scheme announced by the Chief Minister.

The government, according to the Chief Minister, will establish 708 urban hospitals in 21 municipal corporations and 63 municipalities. These hospitals will function from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. to treat outpatients. The buildings for these schemes will be constructed at a cost of Rs 180.45 crore.

The fifth scheme will be to extend the already existing scheme of ‘Chief Minister in your constituency’ to all the 234 constituencies and long-pending needs of the people will be fulfilled in consultation with the local MLAs. The scheme would be implemented under the direct supervision of the Chief Minister.

While speaking in the Assembly, Stalin said that he has implemented 60 to 70 per cent of the promises made in the election manifesto in its first 365 days. He said that while he does not have the speaking or writing prowess of his father and former Chief Minister late Kalaignar Karunanidhi, he works hard like his father.

While leaders of several political parties greeted the Chief Minister on the occasion of the first anniversary of the government in the assembly, the AIADMK lashed out against the Chief Minister and the government.

Opposition leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami blamed the Stalin government for deterioration of law and order situation in the state and cited the examples of lockup murders in the state.

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Jyotirmath’s Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj said that Cows should be removed from the animal category and given a special status.

“Cow is not a mere animal. We all worship Gau Mata. It’s our mother,” said Saraswati Maharaj justified, urging the government to grant them a special status.

Speaking to the media he said, “When we say ‘Gau Mata,’ we already confirm that a cow is not just an animal but our mother. The central and state governments have included the cows in the list of animals. Therefore, we want them to show respect towards them and declare them as our mothers. ”

Maharaj will tour to bring attention to demands

He also reiterated his demand for strict laws for the protection of ‘Gau Mata’ in the country. 

Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Maharaj appealed to both the central and state governments to take strong steps to ensure the safety of cows. The Shankaracharya also demanded that criminal cases be filed against those involved in cow slaughter and or any misconduct with them.

To bring more attention to the issue, Maharaj announced a nationwide tour dedicated to the cause of cow protection. The tour will begin from Ayodhya, where he will raise awareness about the importance of cows in every state. During this journey, he will call for cows to be declared the “Mother of the Nation.”

Maharashtra: Nearly 10 Women Injured After Fireworks Misfire During Ganpati Visarjan In Nagpur;

Nagpur: A major accident occurred during Ganpati Visarjan in Nagpur’s Umred area on Thursday night. The incident took place during the visarjan ceremony, which was accompanied by a large crowd and heavy fireworks. According to reports, while the fireworks were going off, sparks unexpectedly flew toward several people, leading to chaos. Local media reports confirmed that eight to ten women suffered burns as a result of the firework mishap.

Video Shows Terrifying Scenes

A video of the event has surfaced online, showing the moment when the fireworks went viral on social media. In the video shared on YouTube by news channel, one can see the celebration including the sound of drums and other instruments being played, but suddenly, fireworks erupt, filling the air with smoke. Panic ensues as people realise the danger and the women caught in the chaos try to escape.

a procession by the ‘Sivasneh Ganesh Mandal’ (a community group) was making its way to the Shri Krishna temple amid fireworks when the accident happened. According to eyewitnesses, a mandal member was bursting firecrackers when some flew off and exploded among those gathered to watch the procession, triggering a stampede-like situation.

Injured Women Rushed To Hospital

The suddenness of the event caused panic, especially in the densely packed crowd. People started running in all directions, creating a chaotic atmosphere. The injured women were immediately taken to the hospital, where they are receiving treatment for their burns. The police have stated that an investigation into the incident is underway.

Case Filed Against Mandal Workers

seven women suffered injuries after being struck by burning embers and were rushed to a local hospital. Four of them are reported to be in critical condition, confirmed an official from Umred police station. A case has been registered against the mandal workers under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Maharashtra Police Act

Mumbai: A BEST bus conductor, Ashok Dagale was attacked by unidentified individuals while on duty on bus route number 7 at Dharavi’s Pila Bungalow stop on Thursday, September 19. The attackers assaulted him with the intent of robbery. He has since been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) at Sion Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.

BEST Kamgar Sena Condemns Attack On Conductor

BEST Kamgar Sena President Suhas Samant is scheduled to visit Dagale at the hospital today. Expressing his outrage over the attack, Samant condemned the incident and criticised the government’s failure to maintain control over such criminal activities.

He voiced his frustration with the functioning of the state’s Home Department, stating that the government, including the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, is more focused on winning elections rather than addressing the concerns of Maharashtra’s citizens.

In response to the attack, the police have arrested the accused, Shahbaz Khan, and recovered a mobile phone and knife from him. This swift action by the authorities has provided some relief, but the incident has sparked broader concerns about the safety of public workers, especially those in critical roles like bus conductors.

The attack on Dagale has raised questions about the lack of security measures in place for bus staff, who are often exposed to such risks during their duties. The BEST Kamgar Sena, led by Samant, is pushing for more stringent protection for workers and increased accountability from the government. As Dagale continues to receive treatment, the union and the public at large await further action from the authorities to ensure such incidents do not recur in the future.
