41 Uttar Pradesh districts are now coronavirus free

Forty-one districts in Uttar Pradesh are now Covid free. The drop in fresh and active cases in Amroha, Ayodhya, Badaun, Baghpat, Ballia, Basti, Bahraich, Bhadohi, Bijnor, Chandauli, Chitrakoot, Deoria, Etah, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Fatehpur, Ghazipur, Gonda, Hamirpur, Hapur, Hardoi, Hathras, Jaunpur, Kanpur Dehat, Kasganj, Kushinagar, Lakhimpur Kheri, Lalitpur, Mahoba, Mainpuri, Mau, Mirzapur, Rampur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Shamli, Shravasti, Siddhartha Nagar, Sitapur, Sonbhadra, Sultanpur and Unnao, indicate complete elimination of Covid-19 from over 54 percent of the state.
According to a government spokesman, none of the 75 districts in the state have reported fresh Covid cases in double-digits lately which indicates the virus is receding.
The transmission levels in the state have been brought down by restricting the fresh cases below 50 for over two consecutive months.
The state continues to scale up the stringent testing mechanism which has helped in breaking the Covid chain with effective protocols in place, and by sticking to the time-tested strategy of case isolation and contact-tracing, combined with an alert community surveillance system.
The spokesman said that over 17 per cent of the population eligible for Covid-19 vaccination has received both doses of the vaccine.
So far, UP has administered over 11.75 crore vaccine doses. In addition, the state has also achieved the landmark of administering the first dose of the Covid vaccine to over 62 per cent of the eligible adult population.

India reports 16,167 new Covid cases, 41 deaths

India reported 16,167 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, which is a decline from the previous day’s count of 18,738, said the Union Health Ministry on Monday.
In the same period, the country has reported 41 more Covid deaths, taking the nationwide death toll to 5,26,730.
Meanwhile, the active caseload has marginally risen to 1,35,510 cases, accounting for 0.31 per cent of the country’s total positive cases.
The recovery of 15,549 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,34,99,659. Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.50 per cent.
Meanwhile, India’s daily positivity rate has marginally risen to 6.14 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate in the country currently also stands at 4.64 per cent.
Also in the same period, a total of 2,63,419 tests were conducted across the country, increasing the overall tally to over 87.81 crore.
As of Monday morning, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 206.56 crore, achieved via 2,73,95,158 sessions
Over 3.95 crore adolescents have been administered with a first dose of Covid-19 jab since the beginning of vaccination drive for this age bracket.

India reports 19,406 fresh Covid cases, 49 deaths

India has recorded 19,406 new Covid infections and 49 deaths in the past 24 hours, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Saturday.
With the fresh fatalities, the death toll mounted to 5,26,649.
Active caseload the country has marginally declined to 1,34,793 cases, accounting for 0.31 per cent of the country’s total positive cases.
The recovery of 19,928 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,34,65,552. Consequently, the recovery rate stands at 98.50 per cent.
Meanwhile, Daily Positivity rate has marginally declined to 4.96 per cent, while the Weekly Positivity Rate currently also stands at 4.63 per cent.
Also in the same period, a total of 3,91,187 tests were conducted across the country, increasing the overall tally to over 87.75 crore.
As of Saturday morning, Covid vaccination coverage exceeded 205.92 crore, achieved via 2,73,35,261 sessions
Over 3.94 crore adolescents have been administered with a first dose of Covid since the beginning of vaccination drive for this age bracket.
On Friday, the country had registered 20,551 Covid cases.

India reports 20,551 new Covid cases, 70 deaths

In the last 24 hours, India reported 20,551 new Covid-19 cases, an increase against the 19,893 infections registered the previous day, as well as 70 additional fatalities, the Union Health Ministry said on Friday.
The new fatalities has increased the nationwide death toll to 5,26,600.
The active caseload has marginally declined to 1,35,364, accounting for 0.31 per cent of the country’s total positive cases.
The recovery of 21,595 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,34,45,624. Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.50 per cent.
While the daily positivity rate rose to 5.14 per cent, the weekly positivity rate stood at 4.64 per cent.
Also in the same period, a total of 4,00,110 tests were conducted across the country, increasing the overall tally to over 87.71 crore.
As of Friday morning, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 205.59 crore, achieved via 2,72,54,426 sessions
Over 3.93 crore adolescents have been administered with a first dose of Covid-19 jab since the beginning of vaccination drive for this age bracket.
