₹ 25 Lakh Contract For Salman Khan Hit, AK-47 From Pak: Chargesheet
A contract of ₹ 25 lakh was taken out to kill actor Salman Khan near his farmhouse in Maharashtra’s Panvel, a chargesheet filed by the Navi Mumbai Police stated.
In the chargesheet that named five people, police stated that the contract was taken out by the gang led by jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The accused were preparing to buy state-of-the-art weapons AK 47, AK 92 and M 16 from Pakistan and the Turkish-made Zigana weapon, with which Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was killed. The accused had hired boys below 18 years of age to kill Salman Khan, all of whom are hiding in Pune, Raigad, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Gujarat.
About 60 to 70 people were keeping track of Salman Khan’s movement, especially at his Bandra house, Panvel farmhouse and Goregaon Film City. Further, the plan to kill Salman Khan was hatched between August 2023 and April 2024, as per the chargesheet.
Investigation revealed that Sukkha who was arrested from Haryana’s Panipat on Thursday, assigned the hit to the designated shooter Ajay Kashyap alias AK and four others involved in the conspiracy. A recce by Kashyap and his team led to the conclusion that owing to the actor’s tight security and bulletproof vehicles, high-end weapons would be required to carry out the murder.
Sukkha contacted Pakistan-based arms dealer Dogar through video call, showing AK-47 and other advanced fire arms wrapped in a shawl, while negotiating the terms of the arms deal. Dogar agreed to supply the weapons, while Sukha agreed to make 50 percent advance payment and the remaining amount on delivery in India.
Police also found that all the shooters were waiting for a go-ahead from Canada-based gangster Goldie Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol Bishnoi.
The chargesheet also details a plan made by the shooters to gather in Kanyakumari after shooting the 58-year-old actor, from where they would travel to Sri Lanka by boat and then to a country where Indian investigation agencies could not reach them.
The conspiracy to target Salman Khan at his Panvel farmhouse was unearthed when the police was investigation the incident of firing outside his house in Bandra.
Meanwhile, security has been increased outside Salman Khan’s Bandra residence following the killing of former minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique. The latter, a former MLA from Bandra and leader in Ajit Pawar’s faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), was shot near Nirmal Nagar in Bandra.

Sarpanch’s murder: Oppn slams police for ordering 5 beds in Beed station where Karad is under arrest
Mumbai, Jan 2: The NCP-SP and Congress on Thursday took a swipe at Beed police asking whether five new beds have been ordered for the comfort of Walmik Karad, a close associate of NCP minister Dhananjay Munde from Beed, who was wanted in an extortion case linked to the murder of Santosh Deshmukh, who surrendered before the CID in Pune on Tuesday.
An extortion case has been registered against Karad who has been remanded in police custody for 14 days by Kej court in Beed district.
The police administration subsequently clarified that they were cots for the staff.
NCP-SP legislator Rohit Pawar in his post on X said, “There are reports of five new beds being ordered at the police station. Although the administration has clarified that new cots have been ordered for the staff, there are many questions like, how come the beds were suddenly ordered today? If new beds have been ordered for the staff, the same level of promptness should be shown for the staff in all police stations across the state.
“In addition, consideration should be given to whether mattresses, pillows, fans, and ACs can also be installed.”
On the other hand, senior Congress legislator Vijay Wadettiwar took a dig at the MahaYuti government asking whether the five cots ordered for the Beed police station were for Walmik Karad being covered under the ‘Ladli Aaropi Yojana (beloved accused scheme)’.
“There are not so many coincidences in the movies also as are witnessed in the police administration’s move to order five beds when Walmik Karad has been sentenced to 14 days’ police custody.
“This is the beginning of pampering the accused. Gradually he will get everything like TV, AC, and food from a five-star hotel,” remarked Wadettiwar.
“Does this government want to take fair action against Walmik Karad? If it wants to, then the investigation should be conducted outside Beed district. Will it investigate the person who has kept the police in its grip till now or will it be a service? The government should either stop pretending to take action against Karad and if it wants to take action, it should be done seriously,” said Wadettiwar.
“Whether it is the murder of Santosh Deshmukh or a case under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), no case has been registered in Karad yet, which raises questions about this investigation,” he commented.
The state government on Wednesday formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by IPS officer Basavaraj Teli to investigate the brutal killing of Massajog sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh from Beed district which took place in December last year.
Teli is the head of the Economic Offences Wing of the CID. All the officers in the SIT are from Beed district.
The current investigating officer DYSP Anil Gujar will also be in the probe team.
Apart from Gujar, the other members of the SIT include Vijay Singh Shivlal Jonwal, assistant police inspector, Local Crime Branch, Beed, Mahesh Vighne, sub inspector, Local Crime Branch, Beed, Anand Shankar Shinde, sub inspector Kej, Tulshiram Jagtap, assistant sub inspector, Manoj Rajendra Wagh, police constable, Chandrakant S Kalkute, police naik, Balasaheb Devidas Akhabare, police naik and Santosh Bhagwanrao Gitte, police constable.
The Santosh Deshmukh murder case is currently being investigated by the CID and so far more than 150 people have been questioned in this case.
The investigation is being conducted in connection with the links between the extortion of Rs 2 crore and the CID team is checking all the call records, CDRs on a war footing.

Lucknow horror: Man confesses to killing mother, four sisters in hotel with father’s help
Lucknow, Jan 1: In a horrific start to the new year, Lucknow Police arrested a 24-year-old man, Arshad, on Wednesday for allegedly murdering his mother and four sisters in a city hotel.
The killings, reportedly carried out with the assistance of his father, have sent shockwaves across the region.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central Raveena Tyagi told Media, “We received information from the Thana Naka area that five dead bodies were found in a room at Hotel Sharanjeet. The accused, Arshad, has been taken into custody. He confessed to killing his mother and four sisters –some by slitting their throats and others by cutting their wrist nerves.”
The victims were identified as Alia (9), Alshia (19), Aksa (16), Rahmeen (18), and their mother, Asma. The brutal killings were discovered when hotel staff alerted the police after finding the bodies in a room.
Arshad, a resident of Islam Nagar, Tedi Bagiya, Kuberpur, Agra, reportedly admitted during questioning that the murders were triggered by a family dispute involving neighbours. According to the confession, the family was first taken to Ajmer and then brought to Lucknow a day before the killings.
“Arshad has alleged that his father assisted in the crime. However, the extent of his father’s involvement is still under investigation. We have contacted the Agra Police for further inquiries,” DCP Tyagi added.
The accused explained that he first killed his mother and then attacked his sisters while they were asleep in the hotel room. A video clip shows Arshad describing the crime and revealing that his actions were driven by long-standing frustrations over family disputes.
Forensic teams sealed the crime scene and gathered evidence while senior police officials visited the hotel to oversee the investigation. The victims’ bodies were sent for post-mortem examination to confirm the cause of death and provide further clarity on the case.
“The exact details of the motive and circumstances will be revealed after further investigation and the post-mortem results,” DCP Tyagi said.
This gruesome incident has raised serious concerns, with police working to uncover the full extent of the crime and the father’s alleged role in the murders.
