Sohum Shah Announces Tumbbad 2 Following First Part’s Re-Release: ‘Bigger Twists, More Intense Exploration’
Actor Sohum Shah on Saturday announced a sequel to his 2018 critically acclaimed film, “Tumbbad”, a day after the movie was re-released in theatres. Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, the atmospheric horror drama received critical acclaim upon its release six years ago. It was produced by the actor under his banner Sohum Shah Films.
Shah assured fans that the sequel of “Tumbbad” will dig deeper into the theme of greed. “‘Tumbbad’ has been a special journey and a labour of love for us, and to see the love it continues to receive is overwhelming and only ratifies our belief and ethos of Sohum Shah Films, that content is king.
“With ‘Tumbbad 2’, we want to push the cinematic experience and boundaries even further. ‘Tumbbad 2’ will take audiences deeper into the world we’ve created, with bigger twists and a more intense exploration of what happens when greed knows no limits,” the actor-producer said in a statement.
Set in a Maharashtra village, “Tumbbad” explores Vinayak Rao’s (Shah) descent into greed and obsession as he seeks out a mythical treasure guarded by the malevolent entity Hastar. With the sequel, the makers promise an even more gripping narrative that builds on the dark, mythical universe of “Tumbbad”, the press release said.
“Tumbbad”, which was re-released in theatres on Friday, received a positive response from the audience.

Mumbai, Sep 6: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who is set to host the 20th season of the reality show ‘Bigg Boss’, had a fun banter with actor politician Manoj Tiwari, and his daughter on the sets of the show.
A new promo released by the makers shows Manoj Tiwari walking on to the ‘Bigg Boss 20’ stage as he sings the song ‘Rinkiya Ke Papa’.

Salman was referring to the infamous fight between Manoj and Dolly Bindra in ‘Bigg Boss 4’ over eggs. Manoj wanted an omelette for breakfast, Dolly Bindra wanted him to finish the leftovers first, leading to a fight. The moment when Manoj said, “Kitchen kisi ke baap ka nahi hai (The kitchen doesn’t belong to anyone’s father)”.
Dolly responded with, “Baap pe bolna nahi (don’t talk about my father)”. It has since become a meme.

Mumbai, Sep 3: Actress Shehnaaz Gill has opened up about her character Jasneet Kaur in “Singh Vs Kaur 2.”
Speaking exclusively to media, she shared what made portraying the Bengali-rooted character an interesting experience for her. Jasneet Kaur comes from a Bengali background, while the story of the film travels across Punjab, Kolkata, and Canada. Speaking about the character, Shehnaaz shared that the role gave her an opportunity to explore different cultures, languages, and personalities.
Gill stated, “It was a lot of fun, and it was a very interesting character. And I enjoyed living in that culture. And seriously, when you watch the film, the way we have presented Kolkata so beautifully, you will find it very interesting. When you watch the film on 11th September, you tell me how much you found my character interesting. I enjoyed it a lot.”

But when people see me, trust me, they will fall in love with me too,” said Shehnaaz.
Directed by Navaniat Singh, ‘Singh Vs Kaur 2’ stars Gippy Grewal and Shehnaaz Gill in the lead roles. The film is slated for a worldwide release on September 11, 2026.
