Integrated ticket system for urban traffic – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a dream of bringing the public transport system on a single mobility platform and efforts are underway to develop infrastructure in Mumbai in this direction. Through this, passengers will get the benefit of public transport facilities by walking only 300 to 500 meters. This is an ambitious project to provide fast and smooth transport service from one end to the other, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The integrated ticket service system in Mumbai was discussed in the presence of Chief Minister Fadnavis and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. Mitrache Chief Executive Officer Pravin Singh Pardeshi, Secretary of Chief Minister’s Office Dr. Shrikar Pardeshi, officials of Central, Western Railway and Mumbai Metro were present in this meeting.
Chief Minister Fadnavis said, “Local rail is the lifeline for Mumbai. The integrated service system will make connectivity fast and smooth for passengers and at the same time will lead to maximum use of public services and increase revenue. Efforts are being made to integrate this system with taxi and other services using technology.” Through this, passengers will easily get all the transport facilities on a single platform. It will be possible to simplify the traffic and save time of the passengers, as well as remove the obstacles in the traffic system.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, “Currently 3,500 local services are operational in Mumbai. Railways will invest Rs 17,107 crore to start 300 more local services in the coming time. Rs 1.70 lakh crore has been invested in railway projects in Maharashtra. The central and state governments are committed to the overall development of Mumbai.”
The Maharashtra government is taking important steps towards implementing a unified ticketing system for urban traffic. This venture will be led by the Maharashtra Institution for Transformation (MITRA). Its objective is to integrate and streamline the ticketing process for various public transport services. For this, technical assistance of the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) platform will be taken.
Mumbai’s public transport service will be more smooth and efficient through the new integrated ticketing system.

Abu Asim Azmi demands immediate help from Indian government after pilgrims were involved in a bus accident during Umrah in Saudi Arabia

Mumbai: Maharashtra Samajwadi Party and MLA Abu Asim Azmi has expressed grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of Indian pilgrims in a road accident during Umrah in Saudi Arabia and has demanded that the Indian government help bring the bodies of the deceased pilgrims to India. Muslims are saddened and mourning after the video of this tragic accident went viral on social media. Abu Asim said that after visiting the house of Allah, Mecca, the pilgrims’ bus met with an accident while traveling to Medina and this accident was so terrible that 42 pilgrims died in it. Abu Asim said that this tragedy with Indian pilgrims who went for Umrah is very sad. We express our heartfelt condolences to the families of all the martyrs. May Allah Almighty grant them a high place in Paradise, grant patience to the bereaved families and grant a speedy recovery to the injured Amen.
We demand Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Jaishankar to immediately provide all possible assistance to the families who have to bring the bodies of their loved ones back to India.
And if anyone wishes to go to Saudi Arabia to perform the last rites of their loved ones, they should be issued emergency visas immediately and the injured should be provided with the best medical facilities.

Byculla Redevelopment Site Accident Claims Two Lives

Mumbai: A tragic incident occurred on saturday afternoon at the proposed redevelopment site of Habib Mansion in Byculla (West). During piling work, the ground suddenly caved in, resulting in the death of two labourers on the spot.
Two to three other workers suffered serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital. The accident took place at the Sundar Galli stretch between Haines Road and Tank Pakhadi Road, where redevelopment work is being undertaken by Ibrahim Jusab Sopariwala & Others. The project is linked to architects A2 Associates and Rajpurkar Associates, with ZZ Consultants reported as the structural advisors.
Local residents claimed that adequate safety measures were missing at the worksite, raising concerns about negligence. Police and BMC officials have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation.
Authorities said a detailed probe will determine whether safety protocols were violated during the redevelopment work.

NCB seizes city drugs, sets them on fire

Mumbai: The Mumbai Zonal Unit of the Mumbai Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has disposed of about 1835 kg of Mephedrone along with 341 kg of other substances which were seized from various places in Maharashtra and Delhi. 16 persons were arrested in this case. A thorough investigation into the massive drug seizure led to the arrest of several persons including foreigners from various places, resulting in the elimination of close associates of the drug peddlers with international links.
As per the guidelines prescribed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court, a high-level Drug Disposal Committee was constituted comprising Deputy Director General (SWR) of NCB, Additional Director, NCB Mumbai Zonal Unit and Additional Commissioner of Pune Police. The case was reviewed and it was selected to dispose of the drug hoard. Accordingly, all legal conditions were complied with after which the seized drugs along with other chemicals were finally destroyed by incineration in the presence of HLDCC on 14th November 2025 at Maple, Ranjangaon, Pune, Maharashtra.
This significant seizure of drugs followed by disposal of the sub-judices, indicates the continuous efforts of NCB in dismantling organised drug syndicates and targeting drug offenders who pollute the drug ecosystem. The Bureau is steadfast in its mission to protect public health and uphold the vision of “Nisha Mukt Bharat” by 2047.
NCB is firmly committed to ensuring a drug-free society under the guidance of which it has curbed drug trafficking, broken financial nexus and curbed inter-state and international drug syndicates.
