Allu Arjun arrested, to be produced in court (Lead)

Hyderabad, Dec 13: Hyderabad Police on Friday arrested Tollywood actor Allu Arjun in the case registered against him in connection with a stampede at a theatre during the premiere show of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ that killed a woman.

After recording the statement of the actor at Chikkadpally Police Station, he was taken to Gandhi Hospital for a medical check-up. He is likely to be presented before the Nampally Court later in the day.

A woman died and her son was critically injured during the stampede at Sandhya Theatre during the premiere show attended by Allu Arjun on December 4.

A police team took the national award-winning actor into custody from his house in Jubilee Hills, hours after his return from Delhi, where he attended the success meet of ‘Pushpa 2’.

Allu Arjun’s father, well-known filmmaker Allu Arvind, actor brother Allu Sirish and other family members were present when he was arrested.

The police team led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Akanksh Yadav questioned Allu Arjun for nearly two hours in light of the statements made by eyewitnesses.

Police had registered a case under sections 105 (Culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 118(1) (Voluntarily causing hurt) r/w 3(5) BNS against Allu Arjun, his security team and the management of the theatre.

The case was registered at Chikkadpally Police Station on December 5 on a complaint by the deceased woman’s husband. The police arrested the theatre owner, general manager and security manager on December 8.

According to police, there was no intimation from theatre management or the actor’s team that they would be visiting the theatre. The theatre management also did not make any additional provisions regarding security to manage the crowd.

Allu Arjun on December 6 announced assistance of Rs 25 lakh for the deceased’s family and said that he is “deeply heartbroken”.

The actor assured the grieving family that he would meet them personally and extend every possible assistance.

Allu Arjun also promised to take care of the medical expenses of the boy, whose condition remained critical.

Meanwhile, the Telangana High Court postponed the hearing on Allu Arjun’s quash petition to 4 p.m. on Friday.

The actor’s lawyers requested for early hearing of the petition filed on December 11. The Public Prosecutor told the court that he would gather all details from the police and inform the court.

Mumbai Oct 31: Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi has been roped in to play Aurangzeb opposite Rishab Shetty’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Sandeep Singh’s upcoming historical epic, ‘The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’, according to reports on Friday.

While there is no official confirmation as of yet.

The film will depict the journey of history’s greatest warrior king, highlighting the courage, strategy, and devotion that shaped the foundation of Swarajya.

With Rishab Shetty as Shivaji Maharaj, Shefali Shah as Jijamata, and now Vivek Oberoi stepping into the role of Aurangzeb, the stage is set for a compelling narrative that explores both conflict and conviction at an epic scale.

Vivek Oberoi’s inclusion will add another remarkable chapter to his strong slate of upcoming projects, which includes Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Spirit’ with Prabhas and Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’.

Helmed by Sandeep Singh, ‘The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’ is shaping up to be one of Indian cinema’s most ambitious historical productions, with a team comprising multiple National and Academy Award-winning technicians.

The magnum opus is slated for a never-seen-before mega global release in more than 40 countries worldwide on January 21, 2027, in Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali and English.

Talking about Vivek, the actor is all set for his upcoming movie ‘Mastiii 4’. The movie also stars Aftab Shivdasani and Ritesh Deshmukh in the lead.

Talking about Rishab Shetty, the actor is currently riding high with the humongous success of his recently released movie, ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’. The movie also stars Rukmini Vasanth.

‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ released last month on October 2.

It competed with Janhvi Kapoor-starrer ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ at the box office.

Bollywood actor Mukesh Rishi watches J&K Assembly proceedings from Speaker’s Gallery

Srinagar, Oct 29: Bollywood actor Mukesh Rishi on Wednesday watched the proceedings of J&K Assembly from the Speaker’s Gallery as members cutting across party lines welcomed his presence.

The Assembly warmly welcomed Rishi, who was present in the Speaker’s Gallery during the ongoing session.

Members across party lines greeted the actor with applause as Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather announced his presence in the House.

Rishi belongs to J&K and was born on April 19, 1956, in a Gujjar Chaudhary family in Kathua district.

Growing up in Jammu, graduating from Government College, Sector 11, Chandigarh, and working for two years in Mumbai, Rishi moved to Fiji for work, where he met his future wife, who is of Indo-Fijian ancestry. Her family ran a traditional departmental store. He has a lucrative investment portfolio, including warehouse investments.

He later worked as a model in New Zealand before beginning his acting career in India.

An actor known for playing villainous and supporting roles and a film producer, he has worked in Hindi, Telugu, and other films. Among his better-known Bollywood movies are “Gunda” (1998), “Sarfarosh” (1999), and “Koi… Mil Gaya” (2003).

The Autumn Session of the J&K Assembly will end on October 31. With its conclusion, all the top offices of government, including those of the Chief Minister, his cabinet colleagues, the Chief Secretary, administrative secretaries and the Director General of Police (DGP) will move to the winter capital Jammu.

The move is called the “Dabar Move” and will see the offices functioning for six months from the winter capital, Jammu.

The over one and a half century old practice of shuttling offices between Srinagar and Jammu was stopped by the Lt Governor in 2021, but has been restored by the elected government headed by Omar Abdullah.

Sajid Nadiadwala’s Production House Buys 2 Luxury Apartments Worth ₹36.57 Crore In Mumbai’s Prabhadevi

Mumbai: Bollywood filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala’s production house Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. purchased two high-end apartments in the upscale Prabhadevi area of South Mumbai for a combined value of Rs 36.57 crore, according to property registration documents reviewed by real estate platform Square Yards. Both transactions were registered in October 2025 on the Maharashtra government’s Inspector General of Registration (IGR) website.

Located in one of Mumbai’s most sought-after neighbourhoods, Prabhadevi is known for its premium residential towers, commercial spaces, and proximity to major business hubs like Lower Parel, Nariman Point, and the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC). The locality, home to landmarks such as the Siddhivinayak Temple, is well-connected via Veer Savarkar Marg and offers convenient access to lifestyle destinations, hospitals and educational institutions, making it a preferred address for Mumbai’s elite.

According to IGR data reviewed by Square Yards, the first apartment was bought in Hubtown Twenty Five South North, a luxury residential project in South Mumbai. Valued at Rs 18.57 crore, the property has a RERA carpet area of 222.13 sq. m. (2,390 sq. ft.) with an additional area of 19.40 sq. m. (208 sq. ft.), and includes two car parking spaces. The transaction attracted a stamp duty of Rs 1.11 crore and registration charges of Rs 30,000.

The second apartment, also in the same building, was purchased for Rs 18 crore. It has a RERA carpet area of 221.30 sq. m. (2,382 sq. ft.), along with 12.86 sq. m. (138 sq. ft.) of additional space and two car parking slots. The buyer paid Rs 1.08 crore in stamp duty and Rs 30,000 in registration fees.
