Bulldozer action on Fahim Khan’s house is against democratic system: Naseer Hussain
New Delhi, March 24: Congress MP Syed Naseer Hussain on Monday condemned the demolition of a two-story house in Nagpur, owned by Fahim Khan and said this bulldozer action is not just on houses but against the very principles of the democratic system that our nation is built upon.
The Municipal Corporation of Nagpur on Monday carried out a bulldozer operation at the residence of Fahim Khan, the alleged mastermind behind the March 17 violence that erupted in response to Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s (VHP) demand to remove Aurangzeb’s tomb in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Civic authorities had demolished the structure after Khan, who is in custody, failed to meet a deadline for removing the unauthorised construction.
Hussain condemned the action, emphasising that the government cannot simply destroy property without legal proceedings.
“No one, not even the government, has the right to decide whether someone is guilty or not,” he told IANS.
“The courts are the ones that should determine guilt, and punishment should follow their verdict. What we’re seeing here is a disturbing trend — bulldozers being used not just against houses but against the democracy system that our nation is built upon. This overreach is seen wherever the BJP is in power, from Uttar Pradesh to Maharashtra. It undermines the democratic system and the rule of law,” he added.
The Congress MP further came to the defence of stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra after his satirical video allegedly targeting Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde ignited controversy.
The video, which aired following Kamra’s performance at the Habitat Comedy Club in Khar, saw the comedian using a modified version of a popular Bollywood song from ‘Dil To Pagal Hai.’ “Meri nazar se tum dekho toh, gaddar nazar wo aaye. Haaye,” Kunal Kamra said during his show which was understood to be a jibe at Shinde.
In response to the backlash, Hussain took a strong stance, questioning the government’s commitment to free expression.
“The Prime Minister of this country constantly speaks about freedom of speech, freedom of expression, and the right to criticise,” he added.
“If this is truly the case, then the government must step up, defend creative voices, and address the atmosphere of fear they’ve created in Maharashtra after assuming power. Whether it’s in Nagpur, Mumbai, or elsewhere, it’s clear what kind of environment they aim to create,” he said.
Hussain further reacted on a recent statement made by Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister, DK Shivakumar, who suggested that amendments to the Constitution might be necessary while discussing a 4 per cent quota for Muslims in public contracts.
Hussain responded by clarifying that the statement had been misunderstood. He pointed out that Shivakumar was referring to the judicial rulings that often require changes to laws, which could prompt constitutional amendments.
“This is not about changing the Constitution itself, but rather making necessary adjustments in response to evolving legal interpretations,” Hussain concluded.

Mumbai Metro 3 At A Standstill For 20 Minutes? What Caused The Sudden Halt On Aqua Line

Mumbai: Commuters on the Mumbai Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line) faced disruption on Monday, March 23, after services came to a halt for nearly 20 minutes due to a technical issue, causing inconvenience during peak travel hours.
The metro remained stationary with its doors open for an extended period from 8.40 am to 8.57 am, leading to confusion inside the coach. Within a few minutes of the halt, an announcement informed commuters that the train had been stopped owing to a technical difficulty, while also apologising for the delay.
Sources from customer care services indicated that the disruption was allegedly caused by a technical issue in one of the metro cars near MIDC on the Aarey stretch. As both directions operate on single lines that are connected, the snag affected movement on both the sides, resulting in the entire Line 3 corridor being brought to a temporary standstill.
After remaining halted for close to 20 minutes, the doors eventually closed and the train resumed movement, albeit at a slower pace initially.
Further details regarding the exact nature of the technical fault are yet to be officially disclosed.
This disruption comes just days after commuters on Mumbai Metro Line 3 reported a complete loss of Vodafone network connectivity within the underground corridor. While Vodafone services were earlier functional between Aarey and Acharya Atre Chowk stations, users took to social media to highlight that the network had also stopped working, even as Jio and Airtel services have remained unavailable in the stretch. The development has raised concerns among passengers, particularly over safety during emergencies.
Mobile network services inside Metro Line 3 have been impacted after the third-party infrastructure provider was reportedly switched off for failing to meet contractual conditions. The report further noted that the installation of a new system may take time, leaving commuters without connectivity for the foreseeable future.

CoinDCX Co-Founders Arrested In Mumbai In ₹71 Lakh Crypto Fraud Case; Company Calls FIR ‘False’

Co-founders of crypto exchange CoinDCX, Sumit Gupta and Neeraj Khandelwal, were arrested after a First Information Report (FIR) was registered at a Mumbai police station in connection with an alleged cryptocurrency fraud case.
According to the complaint, a person claimed that he was cheated of Rs. 71 lakh in a crypto scam, prompting the police to initiate action.
Reports had earlier suggested that the two founders were summoned for questioning before the arrests.
Reacting to the development, CoinDCX strongly denied any wrongdoing and termed the FIR “false” and part of a larger conspiracy against the company.
In a statement posted on X, the company said that the alleged fraud did not involve its official platform, but instead occurred through a fake website impersonating CoinDCX and its founders.
“The FIR filed against our co-founders is false and filed as a conspiracy against CoinDCX by impersonators posing as founders of CoinDCX and cheating the public at large,” the company said. It added that it had already issued public notices warning users about such fraudulent activities.
The company further clarified that the complaint wrongly claims that funds were transferred in cash to third-party accounts that have no connection with CoinDCX.
It emphasised that brand impersonation and cyber frauds are becoming a growing concern in India’s digital finance ecosystem.
CoinDCX said it has identified more than 1,200 fake websites impersonating its platform between April 2024 and January 2026, and has repeatedly cautioned users against falling prey to such scams.
It also said that it is fully cooperating with law enforcement agencies in the ongoing investigation.
Founded in 2018, CoinDCX is one of India’s leading cryptocurrency trading platforms. The company has faced challenges in recent times, including a major cyberattack in 2025 in which hackers breached an internal operational account and stole assets worth $44 million.
However, the company had then said that user funds were not affected and that it had strengthened its security systems following the incident.
