Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s former manager Shruti Modi on Wednesday appeared before the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the drugs related case.

Shruti arrived at the NCB office here for questioning, a day after she was summoned to join the probe.

The NCB has also summoned Sushant’s talent manager Jaya Saha for questioning.

The official said that Shruti will be questioned about the drug use and delivery to Sushant and his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, who was arrested last Tuesday.

The official said that Shruti will be asked about her alleged chat with Rhea, where they are seen discussing providing drugs to Sushant.

The NCB will also question Shruti whether she was aware of the drug use by Sushant and Rhea. And if yes, since when.

The latest development comes in the wake of the arrest of over 15 people in connection with the Sushant death case.

Rhea, her brother Showik, Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda and several others have been arrested by the NCB.

The NCB has registered a case on the request of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after the alleged drug chats of Showik, Miranda and several others came to the fore.

Sushant was found hanging in his Bandra’s Mont Blanc apartment on June 14.

Besides the CBI and the ED, NCB is the third agency to probe the death case of Sushant.

Meanwhile, in a significant development, the names of Bollywood celebrities like Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh and Simone Khambatta have apparently emerged in the NCB probe into the drugs angle surrounding the mysterious death of Sushant, official sources said.

Denying the claims made by a section of the media in recent reports that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has a majority stake at Kwan Talent Management Agency, his lawyer has issued a statement.

The statement has been issued by Anand Desai, Managing Partner of DSK Legal on behalf of the Bollywood superstar, terming it as a false report.

The statement reads: “Certain sections of the media are falsely reporting that our client Mr. Salman Khan, a leading Indian actor, has a majority stake in the talent management agency KWAN Talent Management Agency Private Limited. It is clarified that Mr. Salman Khan has no stake, directly or indirectly, in Kwan or any of its group entities. It is requested that media refrains from publishing false reports about our client.”

On Tuesday afternoon, a television news channel tweeted claiming Salman Khan’s firm “reportedly” owns a majority stake in Kwan. Reacting to the tweet, “Dabangg 3” producer Nikhil Dwivedi had tweeted from his verified account denying the news.

Nikhil wrote: “This NEWS is FALSE, MALICIOUS & MISCHIEVOUS. No stake of any kind is owned by #SalmanKhan or by any of his associates in #Kwan. Such knowledge in today’s times is easily available in the public domain and its deplorable tht a major News Channel can’t verify as much. #Sad #Shameful.”

Bombay High Court.

The Bombay High Court on Tuesday allowed Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut to include Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut and a civic body officer as parties to her plea against the demolition carried out at her office in Bandra on September 9.

Besides Raut, BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation’s H-West Ward’s designated officer Bhagyavant Late was allowed to be made parties by a division bench of Justices SJ Kathawala and RI Chagla.

The matter was posted for next hearing on September 25 after BMC senior counsel Aspi Chinoy sought time as Kangana had made some fresh statements in her affidavit.

In her plea, Kangana has sought HC directions to declare the demolition carried out by the BMC as illegal and demanded Rs two crore as damages from the civic body.

When her lawyer Birendra Saraf submitted a video containing Raut’s speech with alleged threatening comments against the actress, Justice Kathawala said that if Kangana wanted to rely on the clip, then Raut must also get a chance to respond.

“What if he (Raut) says that he did not make these statements or that the video is fabricated? You must give him an opportunity to reply,” the court ruled.

On Saraf’s plea, Late was also included as a party since the officer had handled all the communications pertaining to the illegal construction notice and the subsequent demolition.

The BMC had bulldozed a significant portion of Kangana’s bungalow on the ground that she had made illegal alterations and structural changes in violation of the civic body’s sanctioned plans.

Rushing to the High Court, Kangana’s lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui secured a stay within hours even as the demolition was underway on September 9. She later denied all claims made by the BMC.
